Just a reminder: we are turning the track penalty's back on for this one .. they will be set to the max 30 sec's until a D/T so you can have a few mistakes :D

Andrew make sure you singe up for both events ! they are 2X 20 min stints ! (for scoring we need to have 2 separate singe ups) approx. 5 pm practice session after race 1 ,then 10 min Q for R2 ! I missed 1/2 the season due to summer work hrs but im back for the last few races !
warning: EXTREEM FUN WITH THESE CARS !! :D

I think in this track (layout) you cannot gain time by cutting the track somewhere, so maybe we could leave penalties off for this race as well? For Nurburgring next round we definitely need them on, because of that chicane at the end...

Fine with me but lets ask Kenny!

Theres only 1 corner you can gain time on and its not turn 1, its the only corner that gets penalised on in real life. Turn 3 at the bottom of the hill is the one. Its kind of 50/50 with the penalty system, it really should be on when cutting corners but not when you spin or get pushed off track.

I have no issue with it being on or off. If its on it means I'll have a few extra second added at the end of the race :p

Agreed, I am also fine either way. Well, it's likely people have practiced with penalties enabled, so I guess probably better leave them on.

Thanks for letting me join in last night. First time I've driven the touring cars in PC2. Took me while to adjust as I've been driving LMP cars and other much faster machinery.

Had a fun time, although the penalties just killed my races for me. I kept getting punished for Paddock Hill bend and I don't know why, I rode the kerb slightly on entry sometimes so maybe that was it. Like others I was getting penalties at turn three almost every lap, sometimes with good reason, sometimes when I put two wheels on the kerbs.

At the end of the second race I just backed out of it, better the finish last than to take points from the regulars.

Anyway, good fun. Well done to the winners :)

Actually, in order to get a slowdown warning, you must put all 4 wheels out of the white line. Some times it doesn't look like you did, I also had it so many times in the past and was swearing half my car was inside the lines, until I watched the replays and every single time saw to my surprise that I was indeed all car out, even for just an inch or so...

What is really bad though, it that there's no lenience at all...it's the most common thing in racing to go an inch out of the track and in most cases it does not gain you anything at all anyway (or ok, it may gain you 0.01 sec), but the system once it detects that, it requests from you to slowdown for one or more seconds to give the time back. It was supposed to be calculating exactly how much time (if) you have gained and require a similar time to be given back, but it is clearly working ridiculously wrongly unfortunately....

Yeah you may well be right my friend. On certain events I've done they simply turn it off now. It kills too many races, however it needs to be a group like us who are fair racers rather than people who jump chicanes and so on :)

The first few versions of Raceroom were similar, they had very strict track limits. Zolder was terrible for giving you penalties for going over kerbs too much, etc. Sector3 did tune them slightly and it's better now on most of the tracks, although I do still have the odd blue language moment....lol

Yeah, unfortunately in PCARS2 they do not do it. Only if there are a lot of people complaining, then we have a chance. Maybe they even think it is good as it is...IMO only hope is if people complain about this in the official forum. Some already do, but apparently are not enough.
