Congrats Jens and Paul. It seems that I had the pace over one lap but not the consistency to compete for the win. I was actually surprised to snitch the pole from Jens with my last lap. Although with the strating lineup pole was likely not an advantage because the pole sitter got the inside line and was not that far ahead of second place. In addtion the outside line allowed to go faster through the first turn. So Jens got the first place due to this fact and Paul nearly followed him too. After that I struggled a bit pacewise and made an error hitting the curb wrong into the chicane. That spin cost me five seconds but I was able to hold P2. Then I had two further crashes which cost me first second and the third not to mention the damage. I decided to repair because my steering was a bit bent. Cost me ten seconds but somehow I jumped Csaba and increased the gap to Bill. I had nothing to lose and pushed to close 12 second gap to Paul. The gap was down to two seconds but I was not able to shrink it further. Bathurst is a though place, once you lose your rythm it is really hard to get it back. Looking forward to the last race, hopefully I can improve my consistency because Jens was a bit lonely in front, I reckon
Thanks Philipp, your pole lap was good and close to my best during practice. I was on a improved lap on my last try, but got into a bit traffic and it disturb my pace so I spun. Agree that left side is maybe not the better start position due to T1 is 90 degree to the left. Manage to get a little gap over the first lap and stretch it a bit over the race, decent pace with only a few minor mistakes. Practice helps but it doesn't take much for it to end the other way around on this track, great fun and 45 minutes of enjoyment I think Bathurst was the only track so far I have driven on before, looking forward to the next and final race of this championship.
Great as always in this track. I had a bad qualify, but the race started nicely and I was in 5th when, in the third lap, I lost control in the braking zone and destroyed the car. Change of strategy, huge time lost and every chance of good result ruined. After that I just cruised the track till the end, so 7th is all I could achieve. Looking for the last one! This car is super!
