Excellent John thank you very much. I just done 10 laps and feel at home already. I just need to stop killing the engine on upshifts and I might even make the end of the race :)

Cannot join server: No available slots

Which would suggest my GUID is not on the entry list

Seems like Andrew Harper has been put in my Ferrari.

Neither Andrew Harper nor Jeroen Remmers have done laps on the server.. Not sure they will show up.

Andrew Harper was also in my car for the first race of the GT1 championship. Not sure how he does it o_O

With the server in locked mode, when the car has been assigned to the wrong driver, it doesn't allow the correct driver to join the server.

No matter, I'll unregister from this championship.

    Good luck all :)

Please sent Rob Milliken a mail about that. He's the one setting up the server.

Great race, I was planning to play it "save", and that worked out pretty well. Only made a silly mistake going into the last lap, where I braked too late for turn 1 and hit the fencing there. But Phil Brown was pressuring me LOL! Starting out with a fourth place isn't bad at all. Looking forward to Kyalami.
    See you there!

Congratulations to Jukka, he certainly put in the effort lapping more than 180 (!!) laps before the race in his favourite car and it paid off !

Only had one clean lap during qualy with some crashes in front of me. Good for P2. No position changes during race start. Never got quite close to Jukka as we were doing almost the same laptimes during the race. No big incidents for me or for him. I tried to push but also keep out of the barrier which is tricky to do for 45 minutes ! Backmarkers was a bit of stress, lost some time there but they all went out of the way pretty nicely.

P2 is a good result. I thought I would have been behind the eagles at best. so that turned out well.

Congrats Jukka and Phil ! I just watched the stream and the fight for 3rd was pretty good, could have been Phil, John or Yusuf really. Not sure what happened to Louis who was sitting nicely in P3..

Too bad there were so many no-shows though.

Race went well for me aswell.
After try to get grips with the heavy BRM, to drive the Ferrari was a true pleasure.

Qualy was very "so so", 12th. For the race I was getting more confident with each lap, and had a very good battle with the Mclaren of Dag Johnsen and the Brabham of Flaviu Bozga.
In the end I managed to stay ahead, specially of Flaviu, who chased me down all race long.
9th place at the finish is not bad at all, considering my pace. I take that.

    Cheers.

Well really thought I was getting to grips with this. Struggling with the BRM but enjoying it none the less.
Tough track a real "baptism of fire" for the new championship.
Practice was great for me, but a 2.25 minute lap time meant I wasnt going to be that competetive although It did give me a handle on what to expect from the BRM
Qualifying for me was a dead loss as I could not seem to stay off the barriers and ran out of time before I could get my act together.
Race I set off well but hit the barrier in lap one, message to myself not to look in mirrors when entering fast corner.
Got back out and just put some laps in while trying not to hinder the fast guys. Really sorry if I held anyone up:(
Watched the replay which was excellent with the commentary.
Congrats to podium guys you definately earned your positions
Dissapointed that I crashed as much but already looking forward to Kyalami.......I can only get faster
    M:cool:

Although there was a few no-shows, I never expected to start this race from the third position, I was also very surprised to break my own record during the qualifying session which I am usually very anxious.

So the race started and everyone was pretty much trying to make it out alive of the first corner and the couple of laps to come, and eventually everyone was positioned properly, at least everyone around me, i was clearly able to see John in my rear-view mirror chasing me, and i could also see 3 drivers in front of me (Jukka, Laurent, Louis) when we reached the straights. I dont know how, but at some point i started to pull away from John, this might be due to the amount of total fuel needed by the Brabham's fuel tank i had only taken 75 liters, but i am not sure, so the car was pretty fast at the beginning.

At some point, i noticed my fuel gauge indicator was going down towards "E" much faster than i had previously anticipated, and thats when things got very interesting for me as i had to do some mathematical calculations (my worst skill ever) during the race and having Louis on my mirrors was not making it any easier at all!!! :D I eventually distracted myself and crushed straight on to the barriers, destroying the front end of my car, but i was very lucky to leave without any steering damage, and i am not sure if that "red" front end had any sort of impact on my speed on the straights, but i was seriously slow, whatever i had gained through the corners, was immediately lost on the straights. Anyways, finishing a 5th was also okay, i did not expect that much from myself...

I would like to apologize from my team-mate John vd Geest for the punt, it was not inentional, and i could not figure out the space these cars take, so i went for a gap that was not there. Big congratulations to Jukka, Laurent and Phil and everyone who managed to reach the chequered flag.

I hope to be faster at Kyalami, as that track is more suitable for the type of car i have, see you there!
