I ended where I expected, but it happened in a completely different way I expected.

Q: Bad... I was expecting to do a 17... but the car was terrible on low fuel conditions, the rear end was sliding around, and that's the single characteristic I hate the most in a car. P10 wasn't a disaster because I knew I'd be able to win 3 or 4 positions on the start (I always have great starts).

R: I had a good start, winning 3 positions, but it should have been 5, I lifted a bit when a car went a bit to the left.
During this race, I had an enormous amount of luck, escaping at least 5 incidents that happened right ahead of me, the first two right at the beginning, 2 cars colliding at the last corner and that carnage.
After that, I saw myself in a very comfortable 4th place, racing alone the majority of time, trying to get closer to Laurent. The gap stabilized between 8 and 10 seconds and I couldn't get any closer. T this time, in two separate events, backmarkers spun ahead of me, I had to stomp the brakes and lost all the momentum, as the gap increased to 15+ secs.
With around 20 minutes to go I decided just bring the kid home, running a comfy mid 19, since the closest car was 20 secs behind me.
Anyway, this was a good race, although I never got the pace I wanted to have.

Congratulations to all, especially the ones who finished ahead of me.

Grats Jukka , Stefan and Laurent.

A full sec off my PB in Q was disappointing. The race was fun , good scrap again with a cooper and a honda with a ferrari catching us. Got lucky in the pile up before the last turn early in the race. I suppose Ive had quite a lot of practice escaping pile ups and carnage of different sorts from gpl as its been known to happen more than once. Spotted the hole fairly early and just went right through on the tail of the cooper ahead of me. Quite the moment and quite lucky to come out unscaved. The only real worry about driving these cars have been the gearbox for me as its quite different than what Im used to but thought for sure I had it down by now until I missed a downshift into T1 and ended up stuck in the rails on the inside , race over. That was however the first missed shift I had in the race so definetly progress from highlands where it barely held together to the end.

Good fun , see you guys at Donington.

Grats to the podium and all other who managed to see the checkers flag :)

The race went far better than expected as I had a bit of luck avoiding all crashes gaining positions, without them my position would have been much further down. But with an decent race pace, consistency and fair share of luck, I manged P6. That's an big improvement over Highlands 2nd to last and 3 pit stops for repair...

Donington will be fun, have been waiting for that track to be used online :D

I saw that on the broadcast that you got stuck. That was a real shame. It's stupid to go out because of a guardrail bug. It can only get better.

No worries John , in gpl you stick to everything from small hedges , haybayles , plastic cones etc so Im used to it. :D

I used to do a lot of GPL.
There are 4 tracks that I would love to see in rFactor 2 or Assetto Corsa:
    1. Dundrod
    2. Janakkala
    3. Brno 49
    4. Schottenring

Dont know Janakkala but the other three are awsome drives. Especially Dundrod , one of the craziest tracks ever driven by man. Sachsenring is another favorurite of mine. Hopefully more tracks will be added in AC as the mod grows in popularity.

Oh yeah, I forgot Sachsenring. That's a good one.

    Janakkala 10/10:

Thanks everyone for congrats :) And congrats to Fabrizio and Laurent. Exellent pace on car with minimum practice Fabrizio, I would not have managed that good on same situation. Just watched the race… good work again Caitlin :) Quite bad pile up and some nasty spins too. Had one accident on qually too (had no time to make evasive action) but my lap was not going to get better so only lost one potential lap there. Thanks for Phil and John for giving room on qually and sorry for Bill that I almost lost it ahead of you and seemed like you lost it because of that. Sorry for Phil´s disconnection on race :(

Sorry for not noticing help wanted from me earlier. Setting up the car is really not my speciality, opposide of that actually :) I actually have really loose ARB and car and use pedals (with wheel) to handle it. I love these old cars specially because they are so loose and thou fun to drive. Cars that are sticking to track are not that much fun :)

Looking forward to next (crazy) track :)

BTW Janakkala seems lot like it does in real world. Lots of nice twisty road that are really nice on motorbike :)

Oh, your Finish? That explains your speed .
I spoke with the brother of the creator long ago and he told me his brother took the school bus on those same roads to school and made a GPL track of it :)

Yes, I´m Finnish :) Don´t know how we got this reputation being fast :D It sure doesn´t feel like that on many occasions :D

    Sounds like Finnish "madness" :D

I think it's because of that phrase:
"To finish first, first you must be Finnish" :)
