Rouen-Les-Essarts was a 6.542 km (4.065 mi) motor racing circuit in Orival, near Rouen, France.

From its opening in 1950, Rouen-Les-Essarts was recognized as one of Europe's finest circuits, with modern pits, a wide track, and spectator grandstands. The street circuit (which ran on public roads) had a few medium straights, a cobbled hairpin turn (Nouveau Monde) at the southernmost tip, and a few blind corners through a wooded hillside The appeal was greatly enhanced by the climb from Nouveau Monde at 56 metres to Gresil at 149 metres, with gradients over 9%.

Rouen hosted five Formula One French Grand Prix races, the last one in 1968 resulting in the tragic burning death of Jo Schlesser, at the fast downhill Six Frères curve. The circuit continued to host major Formula 2 events until 1978, after which it was used for various French Championships.

The circuit had a number of different configurations. From its construction in 1950 until 1954 it was 5.1 km (3.2 mi) in length. In 1955 major works increased the circuit's length to 6.542 km (4.065 mi), its most famous configuration. Construction of a new Autoroute across the circuit saw a new section of track built and the length of the circuit reduced to 5.543 km (3.444 mi). Finally, in 1974 a permanent chicane was built at Six Frères and this part of the circuit was renamed Des Roches.

The circuit was closed down in 1994 due to economic and safety reasons, since it is very hard to organise a race on public roads if modern safety standards are to be met. In 1999, following the circuit's closure all evidence of area's racing past was demolished, including grandstands, pits, Armco and track signs. The cobbled Nouveau Monde hairpin was also asphalted but it is still possible to drive around on the original circuit configuration.

The name "Les Essarts" comes from a village, which was included into the commune of Grand-Couronne in 1874.

That's a shame. I was thinking of doing the 1 stopper again, without mistakes on lap 1 this time. I do think it's possible to win like that if you have the pace.

Strangely, I have just reinstalled rf2, and just this second tried the same rFmod, and crashes for me now.

John did reply to this thread saying to put Rouen up and we would go there instead, (but deleted when I replied with the rFmod) so maybe best to go with that.

Shame, cause it is a great DNF track, but hit and miss if people practice then the server can't be put up.

Nope, no problem for me with my Win10 64 bit, worked at the first time. Pretty straight forward by using the ModGre.exe in the Bin32 folder, are you referring to that? I had never problems to install any rfcmp file.

We will forget about Bremgarten and go with Rouen 1955. Official notification is coming up soon.

We all have 64 bit OS's unless your on a real old potato . All the sro servers run out of BIN64 , I believe this track is only 32bit so it needs to run on a server that is BIN32 ,pretty much obsolete theses days with all the DX11 + gpx upgrades in rf2 .. rf2 will run with 32 but why ? lol …

Bill, Jens and myself have just been running some laps at Rouen '55, and it should make for a great race.
Great track, and good overtaking opportunities.

With the OS and the processor information I wanted to indicate that I created the "server" on my computer therefore the comparability is probably poor. I´m not an expert in this and the knowledge that it would work an my PC, does not help you to host the series.

A shame for the jump, but as said in the other thread I will drive whatever the track will be like. I know Rouen pretty well from the historic f3 challenge we race once here. It is a easier Longford which could at least provide better racing. We will see ;)

The track for round 4 has been changed to Rouen 1955.

Unfortunately, we couldn't get Bremgarten to work on the server. My apologies for that to anyone who has been practising the track.
We selected a very good alternative: Rouen 1955. A track that has proven itself and is also very fitting for the DNF series.

Ferrari are having a bit of a mare of a season in F1. Why not show them how it's done. I have created 2 Ferrari skins for the McLaren.
If you want to use them then let us know. Give me the number you want to race under.
First come first served. Only 2 available.
