Just wondered if anyone has tried this yet as I am at work and desperate to try it! Now if you have what's like is it in a good state and does the VR work better?

    Cheers

What was your problem with VR? Only the HUD / menu was bad on my VR in an earlier version, now they are a bit better already.

2 more examples of this poor games use of VR. Raceroom, AC, rFactor 2 all work easily!! ACC is lazy programming again!

Strange, it works fine for me. Are you sure you have 1.0 version?

Hi @Andre Depit. If you are on WMR I have the same issue. And no, it is not fixed. Need to reset seated position every time I start the game.
Easy fix with a motion controller https://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/...-in-vr-not-centered.54210/page-2#post-1028426
    or XBox Controller https://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/...-in-vr-not-centered.54210/page-2#post-1030280
I copy here my post (with XBox Controller):
"Hi, I'm sorry for this latte response. Keep the "back" button prssed to enter VR Dashboard. When I press "start" button, focus change to the down part of the vr dashboard. You must be very careful, maybe you need to press it repeatedly, just watch if when press the screen flicker somehow, then you know the button works. I had need for few quick press until focus remain on lower part of dashboard (you will see the icon a little brighter when focus is on them). Then with D-pad I can move left right there. (In the upper part of dashboard I can move left/right with triggers or bumpers)
Choose the turn off button (in left side) press A and in the exit menu the first option is Reset seat position, just like in the screen shots posted above by @Clawd. This works again after 0.6.3 update install. And this is the only way the reset seat position works for me. There is another reset seat position, like in screen 2 posted by @Clawd, but for me this doesn't work"
You can visit the thread for more information and screen captures.

    Hi Flaviu,

Thank you for this and i will look into it this weekend but my point is WTF! We have paid good money for something that is not easy to get working?? I am really mad that after all the early access that there wasn't a quick fix. Really?? It boils my blood that they have fucked the gamers again and it's lazy. AC works great and is easy to use so why change it for ACC?? WHY!! None of my other sim racers I use have this problem. Raceroom for example is really easy to use in VR, iRacing is easy no setup required and the same with rFactor2. So why is it so hard to get right? Also in terms of the graphics I am very underwhelmed as well. I thought they were supposed to be the best in any sim? In my opinion they are not, I prefer all my inferior sims to this in terms of look and performance.

The performance of ACC is shocking. I get stutters, it looks horrible and frame rate is terrible. I crank down to lowest settings and it makes zero difference to the FPS of the game. Now my computer is not the best but no potato either. I have a MSI carbon motherboard, AMD 2600, 16GB Corsair vengeance RAM, RTX 2060. Plus SSD's etc. Now it struggles with this stupid game! I have even changed the resolution of the game to 1080p rather than 1440p which every other game including AAA titles have no problem being on with 70 FPS -100 FPS on max settings!! This though turns my ok computer into a jibbering wreck at no more than 50fps.

Maybe I expect too much from games and I shouldn't get disappointed but it is hard when you let yourself on the hype train. At my age I should have known better. I know i am moaning but this game is far from perfect as most people would leave to believe especially as it was in early access and they know of the problems but they just can't be arsed to sort them out.

Yes I have version 1.0 before anyone says.

    Vent is now finished! Sorry

I don't think any simulator has had WMR support in version 1.0, so you need wait it. Oculus works fine. You have to remember that many other simulators have been years ahead of development.

Well, to be honest, those times (when you buy something and was good to go) are gone. This is the trend now. We have to accommodate. I know it is frustrating and upsetting, but KUNOS have done a very good job with AC and don't cost anything to give him some more time.
For sure I (and I think all of us) have much more sims (with beautiful cars, amazing tracks and good performances) then time to drive. It is no rush to have another one to run. I start ACC from time to time to see in which condition is (for me is working good enough) making some races online (very bad experience), trying new cars, new tracks, and than go to another sim where I have series running because I didn't have time to loose :-(.
I'm pretty sure they will fix it. And, then, we will enjoy driving it.

I'm hoping to give this another go tonight in VR WMR. Got it working on Wednesday and seemed ok, but hadn't realised i needed to set a button to recentre the menus in VR as well as a recentre view for Driving mode. Will test later and report back.
I did read that clearing out the settings folders if you have used older versions may be a good idea to fix performance issues?

    Hi Henri,

I know many a game that says it won't work with WMR, but does with no issues. Now I understand your point of view but why do I have to have effectively a broken game? If it isn't compatible then say so as i have no worries with this. Will have to wait until sorted in the meantime I will uninstall and play other racing sims.

Please let me know how you get on with this and what I have to do to get it working properly as well. Could you also have a look at the pictures I posted on here because this was the best I could get with re-centring the display and in car no hud display? Also do I have to really map an xbox controller to get VR to work? Reason being is I didn't need to do this in AC which just worked once you set the menu up.

    Cheers

Just a quick one just looked at my pictures again and the menu for the game isn't showing just pictures of the floor. This is where my display shows even when I re-centre my VR. Any ideas?

yep, that is the problem i was having. Read somewhere you need to open the game in non VR and set a controller button to recentre the UI. Then when you go back into VR mode you should be able to get the Menu to pop into the middle of your view by pressing and possibly holding that button for a few seconds, it suggested using 'gear down' button or similar as it is only for the UI menu not when driving.
My problem has been that you seem to need to not start SteamVR but instead just start the game in VR mode, early days still for VR so seems everyone does it differently and you need to find how each game works.

I hope they settle the issues with WMR VR , I can say after a few days of ACC 1.0.0 non VR I can't stop driving it !

Nah, i can't get the Recentre UI button to work at all, only way I've found so far to get the menu to where i can see it is to set it to follow where i look, which is horrible. Recentre driving view only seems to work with Ctrl Space too, not a wheel button. I might delete the config files and try again tomorrow.
Also is there no mouse in VR? so really difficult to change settings even if you can see the menu.
