I'll be away for this first race of the series, so if an SRO Admin is not in the race, please make sure to start Qualifying on time by using the Voting System in rFactor2. Have Fun!
It seems with a decreasing starting field I´m able to increase my pace. I have no reservation that my pace will decrease with an increasing number of competitors, so join us for the final round, it is good fun I was surprised by my quali pace, two times P2 ist not bad. In race one I followed Klaus and was maybe a bit faster but found not way to pass him. The last turn of this track was my weak point. If you get it right it is flat, but it is a fine line. Jens started P4, passed Gerhard and approached from behind as I got it wrong. I decided not to move over to defend because the speed difference was big and it seemed not worth the hazard. For a while Jens and I followed Klaus, until he made a mistake. Jens was clearly faster and won well deserved. For the second race Jens was on Pole, therefore I thought he will soon check out and win again. To my surprise I got the better start and was leading the race. He pressured me soon and we went side by side through turn 5 and until 6, nobody willing to yield. In the end we didn´t crash and I kept the lead, for now. Jens was still faster and was very good through the last turn. But only once he got a far better run and I decided to go defensive, if not he would passed me. On the last lap I made a little mistake by braking too late into turn three. As a consequence I was worried but Jens had braked even later... It feels that I hiijacked that one, very lucky but I´m sure Jens will seek for a revenge in Barbagallo.
It was a great race Philipp, 1st I was a bit out of pace during qualy but noted my pace did not drop much. With little help of other friends on the track I mange to climb to 1st and build a small gap to Philipp. My race pace might have been better, but it was not by much. Started pole in race 2, but I just to bad to start with these cars so Philip got the lead. Might have been better to have the inner line. My pace might be a tad better but needed a mistake from Philip. Over 25 minutes it was only 2 actual overtake attempts, just maybe I could maybe have made the first one but not sure if there was room (need to look at the replay, if anyone has one). 2nd at T1 was a late brake on the outside but Philipp kept his line so lost it before T3. Had a freeze around 11 minutes left for a second, but the car went into the grass on the straight so there I lost a bit of contact with Philipp, but mange to close that gap. Two great races, hope there be more fellow races for the last one. I try sharpen my starting skills and hope to find some pace on that track as well.
Hard to believe, I had not more than 200, which means the rest drove 4756. I saw at least ten (including myself) different drivers train for that race, but 8 drivers who should have drove in average 500 laps. I think that number is not accurate. Anyway, I can upload the replay if you wish Jens or a little video with the interesting scenes of race 2. It is pretty fair to say that you could have completed the first pass attempt. But it could also have been resulted in a crash or you not making the turn. I had no idea that you were that far in front. In the end we both avoided any contact and my feeling is confirmed that I was lucky to win that one
Thank you for the video, I think it was right to stay at my line here as it doesn't seem to be room to make a move in front of you before turn in. Maybe staying closer to your side would have been better to narrow down your space a little But this actually got me reflecting about the rules at SRO, https://www.simracingonline.co.uk/t...ne-racing-rules-and-regulations.126/#post-841 Or more exactly this one, which is pretty close to my first attempt: According to this, I could have done this maneuver: Not sure where they have got the above rules from, in most racing rules like FIA you should stick to your part of the track (lane?) when going wide. Would be good if an admin can confirm that above move would actually considered to be ok, @Ken Jagger could maybe answer?
I think it is that the number of laps what all drivers are driven by that car. Or something. But if you look that complete laps, it should be pretty correct.
I'm glad I was able to join the race after 2 previous I missed. I was quite wondering about my performance when I saw your lap times, but at the end it was not so bad. in 1st half of 1st race it was nice pack of all cars together. I was able to move from 5th place at start and successfully overtake to 3rd place. then I was able to stay close to Jens and Philipp but not enough to participate in battle for 2nd place. in 2nd race I had good start and moved from 4th to 3rd before T1. then I stayed 3rd whole race. I was not able to concentrate enough to keep pace with Jens and Philipp and there was quite big gap in front and also behind me at the end of race. It is fun to drive these little beasts and its pity that our grid is so small. I'm looking forward to Barbagallo, another track I never seen and even heard about before hope more people come to drive.
@Ken Jagger - I'm not able to change my name on the server to real name in any way. It displays correctly on other online servers, but not our one. maybe it is somehow already paired with my steam ID directly on server. I believe it is no problem for the last race. everyone knows me and you are able to match it to result table with no problem.
yes, changed steam profile name to real one, rf2 name in gui, rf2 player.json and still the same. but as I said in other servers the name is correct. I assume there may be an entry directly in server setup pairing my steam ID with previous nick name.
@Ken Jagger - in barbagallo, we start as usual right? because in race details there is race at 19:50 Date: Tue Jun 4, 2019 Race Time: 19:50 GMT Qualify Time: 19:00 (5 minutes)
This series has always been 2 races at each round. https://www.simracingonline.co.uk/racing/eventinfo/862 https://www.simracingonline.co.uk/racing/eventinfo/863
The start time for the Barbagallo races are an hour later then we usually race. It should be 18:10 and 18:50. Otherwise the second race will be running at the same time as the 1st race of the Max Coates Touring car series.
Ah yes I see the confusion now. The race will start at the normal time of 18:10/18:50 GMT. My bad in not picking up that the race page times were incorrect, they have now been amended to the correct times.
