What will be the realroad for Quali and Race? Will be used a preset?

Recap of last year's race and how it went for me:
    • Qualified 3rd
    • Led for 40 minutes
    • Crashed badly
I have a point to prove this year...
Good luck everyone! May the best Dallara win!

AAAAAAARGH, got a bit of suspension damage, I did another 5/6 laps then I lost it. Was a good race until that

    WHAT AN INCREDIBLE RACE! YEEEEESSSS!

I felt so tired before the race. I'd just come back from a kart session and all of my muscles ached. I wasn't expecting to be able to finish today. I think it showed at the start, but then the adrenaline just took over and I climbed to P2. What an amazing fight that was with @Sergey Nevedomsky though, right until the end. Congrats buddy! You absolutely deserved this one!

I lost by just 0.35, but I'll take a P2 considering how much went into that. Thank you for the amazing race guys.

Oooooh, heck. My head hurts so badly.

I wanted to make my race behind you :D
And it was working until I lost my FR suspension

Oval racing is so exciting, is the thing I miss more from iRacing. Shame that most of the oval leagues run in US timezones

Many thanks to all those who ran this event and from what I saw, did so with the care and restraint needed at such a high-speed oval as this. Very well done to everyone. :)

My event started off-kilter when I got disconx at the start of Qual, so couldn't then run any laps after rejoining. But I figured it was no big deal as my pace was reasonable and I had a stable car which was good on high/low fuel. I fairly quickly managed to work up to 8th place and was settling in for the long run, when coming through T3 I saw Pasquale had hit the outside wall and gone across to also hit the inside wall. I slowed and it looked his car might stay low as it was spinning, but the high speed kept it going such that it arrived right in front of me going into T4.

I decided to just fix the body as "All" repairs typically take an age to complete. When I came back out the steering was 10 degrees further off to the right, but manageable. At the next yellow I decided that since we still had a long way to go, I would repair all, which cleared all the damage indicators on the rF2 Hud, but when we went green again I quickly found out that I had lost 10-14mph top speed, so that was the end of any comeback. :( With a draft I could run a little faster, but on my own it was a lost cause. With the other yellow periods and retirements, I was lucky to finish 9th which was ok I suppose. Grats to BVR Team mate Ed Jones on a nice clean, unhindered run to 5th and to Sergey and Caitlin on once again showing us all the way home. Well done guys.:

I'm tempted to run this race more than once a year, so would you guys be up for it later this year maybe?

I'll start with my moans
Why are people defending and diving into the inside on corners when we are just 20 laps into the race? Sure do it in the final 20, but during the first 20 is just silly.
On the restarts, when the pack goes, a few times I was sat behind a car who didn't accelerate, and nothing I could do until the start line. Be prepared to go :p

Anyway, onto the race, I had a setup that was slow, but looked after tyres great (could run 40 laps and still have a front right in the high 80s%).

This helped me take the lead at around half distance due to pitting less, but then my strategist messed up, and didn't pit me under yellow when I had half a tank left.
I had to pit under greens, and lost a lap to the leaders, but was closing in fast on Peter and Norman.
Just as I was passing them both, they touched and spun into me causing lots of damage (barely used 6th gear after this)

On the upside, this yellow put me back on the lead lap, but I couldn't challenge any more due to the speed loss.

My only hope was that it stayed green for the final 40 laps and some of the top 6 needed a splash of fuel where I could make up places, but a yellow close to the end stopped that (maybe they would have all made it if it stayed green anyway ).

Finished 6th, and on the lead lap, so happy about that, but could also have been even better.

Are we doing it again next weekend? :D

It was possible to win but contact in middle of the race and repair and pace gone. As usual :)

    Thanks all, great race

My very first oval and race went decent from where I was. Had not much to set up against the top with Q12. Had some "luck" with the first SC:s. For the final part of the race I waited and waited, and waited some more. Pit for fuel with less than 0.5L left, and on my outlap there was a SC again, so I went 1 lap down :(

Noted that some did overtake before start line after the green flag was shown, and I might have done that without receiving any penalty (i'll check the replay later). So it seems to be ok to overtake sometimes, maybe if the car in front is a lap down? But for the final restart I did get a S/G so I went down 1 position. Would be good if the rules matched the in-game settings, if there is any condition when a overtake before start line is ok.

When I was one lap down I wonder about the blue flags, should you take notice of them? If not, can they be disabled server side?

Was hoping for the top to pit but that did not happen so ended P8, but I think it was a fun race and event :)
I will for sure sign up for the next one, sooner the better

Sorry to see that. Looking at the incident, I don't really think anyone's to blame there. I was ahead but you got a much faster run in the middle of the corner and we touched. I'm sorry that happened. You did well to recover to P4, actually.

Yes, it's important to get out of the way for blue flags. You did a good job of doing so from what I saw though.

Blue flags in oval racing is silly.
Imagine I came out of pits a lap down but behind the leaders, on fresh tyres. I cannot pass them and take the lap back cause once I do, I'll get a blue flag.
So I have to sit behind them, and someone else catches me, I still get a blue flag, so slow to let them past. That slowing down has now let the next guy behind me catch up, another blue flag. You may as well just park it.
