Great races tonight, sorry for the blown engine in race 1. Seems i have shifter issues which is very annoying, it shifted from 4th straight to 1st oops... Great track and car combo though brilliant fun to drive.

Probably the best version of Donington I have driven in any sim (though still not keen on the track o_O )

Race 1 - seemed like nobody wanted to win. Paul went flying over final chicane, Paulo ad Roel both decided to try the gravel rather than the asphalt, so could take the win.

Race 2 - Took pole, and pulled at way at start. Made several errors and started being too cautious on some corners allowing Mark and Paul being right on my gearbox. Managed to hang on for the win but it was a tough 25 minutes.

As mentioned by Jens in chat, full grid of 24 registered, plus 2 red dots, and just 14 racing in race 1, and down to 12 in race 2. This is a shame and something needs to be done about these no shows if they are repeat offenders.

Yeah had some fun too, thanks to Jens and Roel but something with my driving was not ok. In the first race I destroyed my tyres and suffered at the end. In the second race someone robbed all the grip!! Damn that was hard, I lacked in confidence since the first lap on this track with these cars (except for the last chicane ) but at that point the car droves me not vice versa. After a bad quali and an even worse quali i was dead last at some point, but I recovered somehow. There was even more possible because I got then a strange lag (not a freeze) but I really slowed down in the downhill section, drove from the track to make it easier for Roel and Jens because that was really dangerous.

Congrats Andrew to the double, see you guys next time.

Really enjoyed tonights racing. Had some screen freezing issues in practice. Changed my network speed in game which sorted it.
Race 1 was good , managed to pick up a few places in first corners and got into quite a nice rythm. Was nudged going into coppice (fell off my gsx750 ,for real ,many years ago in this corner on a track day, wasnational track then too, I spun out rejoined to find the other driver had waited. Thanks for waiting, good fair racing. Had an good race from there finishing 9th I think.

Race 2 had a really good start and gained some places. Chased Ken Jagger for a few laps while being closely chased myself. Made a mistake going down Craner curves hitting the barrier hard :eek:and rebounding accross the tracko_O . Waited until everyone passed then limped back to pits..25 min race and lapped twice in pits meant that I would have only been in the way rejoining so suspension DNF

Pleased with my pace tonight . Used moteci2 setting car up and definately quickened my pace.

    Cyas next time:)

What did you change Martyn? The information could be useful for others in future who experience a similar problem.

An event of two halves for me.

When the session changed to Qual for Race 1, my PC sat there waiting for the session change and it was only Ed telling me on TS that it had, which forced me to restart my PC to get out of the lockup situation. Got back in with no time to Qual, so start position was 14th and last. Had a decent start and made up a few places until I had contact with somebody running out of the Old Hairpin, which put me in the barriers resulting in a 3 min stop for repairs. When I got back in the race I ended up trying to get past a smoking Klaus. who maybe thought I was racing for position(?) and eventually ended up 13th with a retirement ahead of me.

At least for Race 2 I was able to run Qualifying and took an improved 7th place. At the end of L1 I got a run on Roel going down to T1 and was a little surprised when he squeezed me on the right and I had to lift a bit and went to the left where Klaus had slipped past. But when Roel then switched back to the left and Klaus had to lift, I couldn't avoid him which resulted in contact and him going off track. Sorry Klaus. :(

When Roel went off-track a bit later and then both Gerhard/Jens did the same, I got a free ticket into 4th place, which I was able to hold until the finish, despite some challenges from Martyn, Gerhard, Philipp & Jens. A decent finish after the problems of Race 1. :)

Race 1 Qualification - Donnington I love this track. I must have done 1000's of laps here over the years from TOCA2 through rF1 and other sims. Had a great qualy and got faster and faster during the session. Forgot it was only a 5 minute so had too much fuel so perhaps could have gone faster but I had the pole so mustn't be greedy :)

    Race 1
I can't get this car moving off the line. Sank from pole to 6th in an instance. Going through T1 and down the Craner curves I managed to get back up to 4th. On the way down to the chicane my brakes locked up and I slid across the sausage curves and in the kitty litter. My race was nearly ended as I found it very difficult to get out as it should be. Now flat last I started my fight back but came across a very aggressive Henry. I overtook him but he came back in the next xcorner and forced me off the road. Got past him again but into T1 he overtook me again and again forced me off the road. A few laps later I saw him tangle with the car ahead taking both cars off the road. Not great driving from him. From here I caught Gerhard and Ed. Ed seemed to have a problem just after the old hairpin and Gerhard then I overtook him. I got Gerhard a few laps later and was surprised to find myself in 6th place a good finish considering the epic fail at the start.

    Race 2 Qualification
Couldn't repeat the pace I had in Q1. Towards the end of the race I realised that I was on full race fuel. I had forgot that the setups were reloaded after the Restart Weekend so the changes I made after race 1 in preparation for Q2 were lost. So 2nd was a good result.

    Race 2
Epic fail number 2. Christ how do you get these cars moving. Just bogged down and everyone rushed past. Need to work on this. That said not as bad as race 1 and I got 4th after a bit of a tussle with a couple of cars. Managed to get 3rd a few laps later and then started to haul in Mark and Andrew. We were on very similar pace but I slowly got onto the back of Mark. Then it was hang on for dear live. I really had to drive the nuts of the car to keep up, dropping off then catching up then dropping off again. Whenever I was in striking distance I just didn't have the grunt to make a move. With 2 to go we were on each others gearboxes. On the last lap into T1 Andrew was slow possibly feeling the pressure and in an instance I was in 2nd. Not sure what happened it happened so fast as I wasn't expecting to make a pass. I guess Andrew was slow out of T1 forcing Mark to check his speed, as he was right on Andrew's gearbox and that gave me the opportunistic move. Couldn't make a move on Andrew he was tantalisingly out of reach. Good result and that moves me into 2nd in the championship.

Shame others didn't turn up but 14 is a good mid-week attendance but yes with red lights its very annoying knowing that maybe others couldn't race.

Well down to Andrew for your double win :) and great racing with you Mark. Stunning pace from both of you :)

These are really fun cars love the way you can slide them. Looking forward to Estoril not a track I've raced at that often. See you there.

Mark was right on my gearbox down the main straight, so I went defensive into T1 (no idea why as every lap beforehand he didn't gain on my down the straight, so maybe I was running lower wings). So I was slow in T1. Mark went to the right out of T1, leaving you the run behind me on the lefthand side, and keeping Mark out to the right.
I basically messed up and caused my teammate a position :rolleyes:

We had more than one new SRO member either joining or trying to join the server using a Nickname. All members who race at SRO should use their real name when joining the server, otherwise they will be excluded from the results or possibly booted from the server for not responding to the Admin's instructions.

Some of the new members had difficulty changing their online name. There are 2 files that need attention:
    1. Your Rfactor 2/UserData/player/player.json . There is are 2 lines
      "Player Name":"Roel Postma",
      "Player Nick":"Roel Postma",
    2. Your C:/ Users / YOURNAME/AppData/Roaming/.rFactor/rFactor.NAME . There are 3 lines:
    Roel
    Postma
    Roel Postma

AppData files are standard hidden, as it is seen as a system file. It can be made visible by changing the folder options from hidden to visible.

Make sure these are as your real name is, and it will work flawless
