I thought I had rf2 race with that formula mod so raced home from work only to find out that its week from now Anyhow found this then. I tried but it ended up badly. default set and wings off, well 2 front 4 rear or something and ratios were lazy but was going for top 10 until litle hit somewhere and tilted wheel which made me hit something again and gave up.
The start was a bit messy when Phil decided to just sit there when the lights went green. I tried to go around him but didn't achieve that cleanly and ended up pushing Paul sideways which then resulted in a mess for most guys behind. It was a relief to see that Paul managed to recover back to 6th at the flag, but then that's what I'd expect from a driver of his calibre.
Monsoon season where I am located and my internet connection has been on the fritz. Kept getting disco'ed during the practice session and I was almost certain I would DNF. Thank the racing gods the connection held and I was able to finish the race. As for the race itself, I was able to avoid the mess at the start and found myself in P3 during the opening lap. Then I got punted off, hit the wall, and the car got bent. Tried to drive with the steering wheel askew for a couple of laps or so, but it was just no good through that killer kink. I was falling behind so I decided to pit early for repairs. Pit crew did a solid job and the car was running straight again. From there the chase was on, going from P11 to P5 by checkered flag. Couldn't catch the fast guys, and had the race gone on a few more laps Paul would have overtaken me. And there was just no answer to Ricardo's insane speed.
Qualification Solid job. Did a PB on low fuel and grabbed 2nd Well done Ricardo just can't get close to your speed. Are we sure these cars have the same power? Race The start was a complete mess. Got hit by my team mate, probably as revenge for disclosing his fast and furious secret. Got hit by several cars and smashed into the wall. With no rear wing I had several more spins trying to get back to the pits. 3 minutes later I got there. Thankfully the pit crew could fit a new rear wing in 35 seconds think Ferrari need to employ these guys . Got out of the pits in 4th place OK I was a lap down but at least I hadn't been lapped by the whole field which gave me hope that I could get a decent result from this. My pace was good and I could start pumping in the laps. The fact that I powered past 3rd and 2nd place guys just showed what could have been. I knew from practice that the chicane was a real killer if you got slightly off line and I hit the wall a couple of times because of this. Got back up to 6th which from where I was after the first lap is a pretty good result. Well done Ricardo. I think you must have fitted a turbo to that car. Must give it a try just to see whether there is a power difference between these cars. Don't think I can race in the last 2 rounds of this series as I have visitors and I'm away for the bank holiday. Might be able to make Silverstone just have to sit my Mum in front on the Chase as she's completely obsessed with the crap quiz show and I want to get out of going to my brothers as it's F1 weekend at Spa and my brother doesn't have Sky. Any excuses I can use are welcome?
Qual: My quali went pretty well even if I play safe with that deadly chicane. Not even close of the time I can really make. Race: Well I got a good start and I see in my mirrors something was wrong behind me. Exit of turn 1 I already have a lead of 1,2 secs witch it was very welcome to take very easy for the chicane. After that it was just hitting my marks without taking to many risks at the chicane. Witch finally caught me at one time but luckily with no big damage. Scary moment at the last lap when Ken lost it at the exit of the chicane and came back in front of me. We touched, but again just a little bit more damage. Nothing to be worry for the final lap. Not sure if I can make it for the last round. Will see. Paul you are more than welcome to try the Ferrari if you want. Believe me cars have the same performance. See you guys at the next round.
Wow, I must have done 500 laps offline and I still couldn't get that killer chicane. Even now that the race is over I still have a recurring nightmare going over that part of the track.
