Pole and good start, was taking its time to get into rhytm so Paul got by. Was really comfortable there and plan was to just wait out for guys to run out of tyres. Paul got past and followed lap or 2 and then he made mistake on those Ses and went for inside and we collide. Damn shame, was looking for a long game. I wait for him then since thought i was not enough on his side and he wouldnt take it and there were we looking silly on main straight while cars go by Eventually race went on and started to chase people and found myself 2nd chasing Csaba. Again same thing, comfortable waiting his tyres out and taking care of my own. Found out my engine little too hot but eventually forget all about it. Raced there maybe 30minutes and his tyres were going out. Specially couple parts of track was faster. Didnt want to slam it and wanting to keep it clean and got past him but then cut a little and wanted to give spot back. Oh well, same thing, he wont take it nor I and there we were looking silly again on back straight! I went on but while giggling by myself about these 2 thickheaded gentlemen, went wide so lost position. Had to chase it again but my tyres were ok and Csaba seemed to starting to lose grip but looking for that pass was not easy. Eventually made it. Showed im going for inside and made Csaba defend but last moment went outside and got good exit and the pass on straight. There was passing attempts earlier where allmost made it but he made it back. Specially that onetime to the corkscrew... damn it was nice. I went pass on straight but Csaba came back and took the turns while making me allmost pee in my pants...great move! Thx for race!
My race was complicated because lately my pc, or my ISP, or everything isn't working well and AMS isn't too. I had terrible fps or stuttering or something like that at the start, I was afraid of crashing someone stupidly so I let pass everyone. After some laps my fps recovered and I pushed more, eventually catching Ed but when I was at +1s, don't know how on earth but lost the rear and ended badly. So then my only concern was to not lose more positions and finish 4th, since Ed was far away. Paul was catching me really fast and I think he was at some point 2s behind me, but then something happened to him so at the end, 4/7 wasn't a bad result after all.
Qualification I had very messy qualy. I only managed 1 lap when I didn't go off the track. Thankfully that lap was good enough for the front row Well done Toni Race Well if I thought qualy was messy the race was a trash heap . Got into the lead after passing Toni and seemed to be pulling away. Then after the fast 'S's' section at the end of the lap I slid off. When getting back on the track I took the racing line (a mistake) and hit Toni. Toni went off and as I carried on I figured the right thing to do was to wait for Toni. But Toni was being a thick headed gentlemen and wouldn't take the place. I got going again and immediately went off and headbutted the wall. When I got going again I was last and I had bent steering about 30 degs to the right. Took me a few laps to get used to this but now I was running very slowly and I could only take a few 10ths off of Ramon who was now 20 seconds ahead. I don't think I was rapidly catching you Ramon I think you were rapidly catching me . We got within 2 seconds of each other but I was now suffering with my tyres (damnit I never changed them after qualy. I hate this feature of AMS). With the leaders lapping me then falling out with each other and lapping me again I ended up 11 seconds behind Ramon. I finished 5th. Thought I was lower than but still very disappointing as I had a chance to win this one. Oh well some get away from you. Well done Toni Well done Csaba you and Toni provided a great show towards the end of the race. Looked like a very tight battle Onto the dull and boring Paul Ricard. No fan of this track. Makes a terrible F1 track. Those stripes are bad for the head
Sorry I didn't turn up last night, but I spent most of the afternoon and early evening in the A&E Dept after my wife took a tumble, resulting in a broken wrist bone and hip impact bruising. So at the moment I'm a new home carer for pretty much everything until she recovers.
Ouch! Sorry to hear about your wife's mishap, Ken. Hope shes doing ok and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
