I assume once you choose your car you stay with it. Surely that's the point

 

Oh, don't get me wrong John, that's not what I want, it's only a suggestion. But it's true I have 2 series whose one is single car and the other one is car series pick also, so that a bit of diversity would please me for sure.

 

Just put the max number of cars possible, at each race drivers will choose what is available when they'll enter the server, that's it! Don't forget each following races the choice will shrink as drivers cannot drive 2 times the same car.

This is what I am talking about, it's a win-win for everyone. You John don't have to assign skins and stuff... and evryone will drive all cars and we'll have a fair and fun Championship...

 

what do you think of my suggestion? that would make the car just a little less efficient (according to the assigned ballast) and, your problem is solved ...

 

generally ballast it's a good idea but not with this mod IMO, the beauty of this mod is the big differences between cars and like myself, many people here would like to race them all...

 

I think it's not what he was proposing, Davide, just he did express himself in a tad too quick way : he was mentionning the suggestion I did earlier.

So to sum up, we actually have 3 ways to go :


*** Dedicated car AND skin for the whole championship :
# Pros :
- Quite some work for John, but only once.
- Once we know the car, a bit easier to get in the following events.
- Diversity of the paddock.
- Can pick a beloved skin.
# Cons :
- We stick with only 1 car, so no diversity for the drivers.
- The championship itself is a bit biased due to the cars performance discrepancies.


or


*** Dedicated car PER event (x10 because 10 different cars in mod pack) whatever the skins :
# Pros :
- Very few work for John.
- We test all the cars.
- Championship is fully fair car performance wise.
- Mostly enough skins per car to do that and getting a nice looking grid.
- Probably more tighten pack due to single car type.
# Cons :
- Cup system.
- We have to know every car eventually.
- Can't pick a beloved skin.


or


*** All cars available for free for the whole championship :
# Pros :
- Very few work for John.
- We *can* test all the cars.
- Free for all
# Cons :
- Championship still not *fully* fair.
- Possibility of being out of our prefered car for the event.
- Probably some drivers will not change their car choice very often.
- Very likely that we'll see only 2 or 3 cars or so for each event if the rest of the cars aren't able to match them.
- Can't pick a beloved skin.

 

But John, your poll falls into the trap : you know, I can't say it in english, but : "If A leads to B, that doesn't mean that not-A leads to not-B"
I mean, in your 2nd proposal, do you mean "We change cars every round" but "free pick for everyone" or "we change but we all have the same car" ?

 

all the more reason, this would keep the capri. For the moment it is said to be too efficient, so this solution makes it possible to slow it down a little ... we don't touch anything else and it's much simpler!

 

maybe it's time for another poll for me absolutely not the first, not the second option, both options goes against the natural spirit of the mod where different cars race each other...

 

that's exactly what I would like to see... but let's decide all together...

 

Option 3 seems by far the worst for me. People who might not be able to join the first second can lose their car in which they practiced and that could see them leave before the race even started. I voted for 2 as that gets me to try all the cars.
