    Welcome to the Nurburgring GP-Track

In the 1980s the Nordschleife was classified as unsafe for Formula 1 – the most famous example is probably Niki Lauda’s accident in 1976. For this reason the series was held at Hockenheim alone from 1997 on. To attract Formula 1 back to the Eifel, the then 4.5 kilometre Grand Prix Track was built between 1981 and 1984, and was extended in 2001 by the "Mercedes Arena" section to its present length of 5.148 kilometres.

Today the circuit is between 10 and 25 m wide, featuring seven left and ten right turns, as well as large run-off zones and gravel beds. The Grand Prix Track is known to be a modern and safe racing circuit which hosts top-notch motorspor t events.

(We are using the Nurburgring GP variation from the Studio 397 Nurburgring. Buying the track is a good investment none the less, but now you get your money's worth with 2 events from this track in 1 series)

    Vmod

There was an update to rF2 and the old Vmod package didn't work anymore, so I installed an updated one.
If necessary, delete the old Vmod.

Quali: P10, not good but not bad.
Race: First lap I had full grip, then ice skating. Then the brakes didn't worked, I hit it at the same point, but just went 100 more meters with 100% brake.

Thank you for the championship. See you next time. :)

  7. Firstly Congrats to Jason.
Had my best result of the championship tonight. Car felt great right through quali and the race. Had a great scrap with Jens (I think) for the first half of the race. I was very keen to turn a good quali into a good finish, so didn’t put up too much of a fight when he went up the inside of me into turn 1. I think Gert had gone into the pits before this, so stayed with Jens for a few laps, but then decided I needed to manage my tyres to try and maintain a podium place. Lap times were consistent and a few laps from the end Ii think Jens went straight on at the chicane, handing 2nd place to me. Tyres were still ok so was able to get through to the end with no pressure from behind.

I had quietly set myself a target to finish in the top ten at the end of the championship, results aren’t out yet, but think I achieved it.

many thanks for the series John, very much enjoyed my first one.

Hello Chris, you were fighting with Paul Anstey...

  13. Hi Gert, apologies, Difficult to tell if you don’t have the data displayed somewhere during the race. I simply leave the tyre status displayed throughout the race. Good scrap though nevertheless.

    Anyone got a replay?

    My race review.

I had a great setup... I used my Mugello setup to start with felt already quite good to begin with... Continued to improve it.
My qualification went great... Wat in 1st place a long time until Jason was 0.1s faster... After I pulled out of the pits I went all out... In the beginning of my pole lap I was up 0.3s but lost it somewhere... In the last slow left to right chicane I had a great exit which resulted in a 2:00.8.

Race started very well and I could make a small gap to Jason... After some laps I lost focus and missed one of my braking markers and did some offroading and I lost my 1st position to Jason... I was able to follow him and I think at that time we were both on the limit, doing mid 2:01s...

A few laps later I got a drive through penalty. I think for track limits but I do not know why, because I think I did not leave the track some where... After taking the penalty I came out just in front of Jens and John who were having their own battle. After that my tyres did not perform like before and I lost over a 1s per lap and could not catch up very fast to the drivers in front of me. At some point Sam lost the car control and went off track...

In the end I saw Paul parked at the end of the lap and I was back on the podium... My rear tyres were gone and I knew I could not close the gap to Chris anymore so I made sure to finish on Podium.

Congrats to Jason for his superb performance in this series. It is well deserved... I am glad to end the championship in 2nd, but to be honest Paul was second best in this series having two wins.

Thanks John, for organizing the serie. these cars are a lot of fun and can be both rewarding and quite a handful to handle.

All best of health and a lot of sim racing fun... CU later on track

Imagine this report starting with a whole load of swear words and you'll gauge my mood.

Qualy wasn't great and I couldn't recreate a sub 2:02 that I'd just done in practice.

Race. Picked up 4th into T1 when Jens went straight on. Then had an excellent fight with Chris. He was doing to some great laps and I was driving the nuts off the car just trying to stick with him. Had made some good changes to my setup from the last race and the tyres kept on going with good grip right to the point I ran out of fuel. God dammit I'd only fuelled for a 45 minute race. Damn It.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:. My crew chief and everyone it the pit crew are now sacked. Up to that point I was in 2nd place in the race and 2nd place in the championship.

Well done to Jason for the race win and the series win. :)
Well done to Gert-Jan for taking 2nd in the series :)

We need another series in these excellent cars now we have all gotten used to them :)

Agreed, but we must do something with the format to make it more attractive for bigger signups. Maybe a mandatory pitstop or something like that.
    Who's got a briljant idea?

The default setup is pretty bad with these cars so maybe a sharing of setup could help. Do we have a place on the website where we can place setups :)
