    Round 4 Nürburgring !
This epic track has been host to some of the most iconic racing in history !

For this event from what we learned from the prep series race I'm suggesting another manual formation start !

Pole sitter will lead the pack threw the Mercedes Arena and race will start on the exit of turn 4 .

Look weather you guys like it or not the T1 carnage in this series has been off the charts .. I've reviewed more incidents & seen more penalty's in this series than I did all last year !:rolleyes:o_O So until its proven we can make a decent start we will use the manual form lap to assure we all at least get past T1 .... I'm hoping we can make it threw T5 .. I don't want to spend the rest of my weekend reviewing another ACC 1st lap piss fight , Respect your fellow drivers & respect the sport Is all I ask ..:D

The main point is NO PASSING BEFORE T4 ,. My thoughts are due to the tight hair pin of T1 & the radius of the Mercedes Arena we will be wise to go single file ..

PC crashed for me. Hasn't happened in ages. Wasn't a game crash. Terrible start for me anyways, 3 mistakes in as many laps.
    Some HAL Kernel issue. Goddarnit.

Can I contest that last lap DT and subsequent 80S penalty because I could not take that penalty within the race? Normal DT time at nurburgring is ~30S.

How does one car decide to start overtaking everybody before the official start line? What, did they think they had miraculously discovered some alien pace, or an extra couple of turbos had been fitted to their car and gaining 15 places in the first 3 corners was normal!! And then hits me trying to dive bomb down the inside, what a waste of a weeks preparation!!!!! I don't know what was more frustrating, having gone from last to 12th, last laps going through the esses side by side with a Bentley, I get a tap on the rear quarter which I manage to hold, and for good measure follows a tap to the front which leaves me now spinning off track with the Bentley driving of into the distance...meh!!

Great race, really enjoyed it, even if it is a track I don't get along with for some reason.

Found myself in 4th early on, but trying my hardest I could barely hang on to the pace of Felix and wingman Alex ahead.

Getting to around half distance, I wasn't sure whether to play it safe and take a pretty comfortable 4th place, or roll the dice, pit early with 5 laps of fuel left and see what happens.

Dice rolled, fortunately no major traffic on my outlap, managed to undercut both Felix and Alex to take the lead by over 3 seconds. (Denis in 1st had some issue)

But Alex was coming fast  I knew I had to keep him behind as long as possible, as I assumed he would try to back me up towards Felix once passed.

Alex made a nice clean pass in the Mercedes Area hairpin. After that it was a fun but intense race to the finish in a Super Mod Motorsport sandwich ;)

Great win Alex, simply too fast for me today
Unlucky with the penalty at the end Felix. I can understand 80s pen if it was the lap before and you could have taken the DT but ignored, but on the final lap with no chance to clear it, that is harsh :(

@Andrew Williams I asked him not to block you, but he was struggling with the heat in his front tires.

And yeah that penalty, here is the video of it; https://clips.twitch.tv/HonestRefinedPigCorgiDerp
From my perspective I'm using the exact same line you're using, but from later reviewing I'm ~5cm wider there. I'd agree with it being my 4th strike that it should be a penalty, I just think it's bullshit how Kunos counts that as an 80 second penalty. I mean, okay, if it were Spa, sure. I had a little hope during the lap because in the changelog they wrote "- Post-time DT and SG conversions revised.", but apparently it's still 80 seconds.

Had a WTF moment when coming out of the pits after my pit stop. Had a huge accident that I just could not understand. Saw nothing, heard nothing.
It was looking at the replay that I understood. Here are photos from the replay taken at exactly the same time.

    View is from the helicopter
    What the helicopter saw.png

View from my cockpit, my driving view. Nothing there!!!!!
    What I actually saw.png

    - Taken from another view, is what I should have seen

Sorry Denis, but for me there was absolutely no one there

Bah, I have had 3 great races ruined by technical issues this week, the sim gods have crapped on me from a great height. This latest doozy was that my mfd had decided to tick the brake pad change option (assume the latest patch turned it on?) so rather than pitting whilst 6th and re-emerging in a fight with Gymers Porsche, that stopped at the same time, I had to sit there for 1min 30s  and came out 21st :( That was my race over after all my hard work and places gained. Car felt good too and was hoping for better pace after the stop on light fuel. Which leads me to my next beef, what the heck is wrong with the fuel read in the Aston?! I tested the exact fuel required in the afternoon on the server, so was confident I had it all covered for the race and even added an extra 5L to pre and post stop to make sure. But I still ran out of fuel on the last lap! So something seems buggy about the Aston fuel.
Need to say sorry to Ignacio? Late in the race, I had no way to avoid your rear end when you screwed up the final chicane as I was just too close behind you (as I’d been for several laps).
On the plus side, had some cracking battles in the first 45mins, great clean racing fun, though would say one or two take the squeezing/blocking a little far on occasion ;)

Brakes will only be auto selected to change if you start on a different pad set to the one selected in the pit menu.

If both the start pad and pit strategy pad are the same, then it won't auto select to change the pads.

I have no issues with Alex trying to back me into your grasp. (obviously by being slow out of corners etc, not by blocking or brake checking, which neither of you would do anyway) You are teammates trying to win the championship after all.
Same way as my teammate let me though for position early on after out qualifying me.

@Larry Thomas FWIW here's my perspective of that incident. https://www.twitch.tv/felixr1991/clip/RamshackleSleepySharkNerfBlueBlaster

Here's my full VOD if anyone cares :)

@Andrew Williams sure but I don't want to win the championship because of underhanded tactics. If you two wouldve been a lot faster than me then sure I wouldve asked him to make sure I could keep up to you guys, but backing you into me would feel wrong.

Instead I got wasted by freaking track limits.

Also: in the SRO Silver event today, they converted DT's to 30 second penalties by the end. Just saying, @Rob Milliken @John vd Geest :) wink wink, nudge nudge.
