I can see where this is going. I veto the use of the add-on Mini. We will not add any cars to the original pack. I think I'm in the right in doing that, as we did not agree on it on the construction of the series.
Noooo Paul, why!! Okay fair enough John, just seemed fun to drive the mini with all those other types of cars around and the one I suggested is way better than the original one IMO. I will pick another car then, probably a 70's car. Also, from testing on Bikernieki I had the impression one class would not be faster than the other, so I expect battles between classes throughout the field. I might be wrong from limited testing, but it looks like that will happen.
You might be right about that. That's why I said we were doing things backwards on selecting this mod. First setting up the series and testing it after. That's why I'm glad you suggested the idea of setting up a DRM test forum before we officially select it. We learn as we go. But I'm not worried about some cars being compatible with each other between the classes. It will be funny and they are not competitors for points. It will more likely be a thing of "Get the hell out of my way ...!!"
I did some testing of my own at Bikernikie with my limited skills, all with 30 liters, and this is what I've come up with: Car pack 60's Austin Healey 3000 = 1.38.457 || tank cap. 55L || 30=19 laps Cortina = 1.39.591 || tank cap. 56 || 30=16.4 laps Ford Fairlane =1.39.181 || tank cap. 76 || 30=11.2 laps Ford Mustang = 1.36.998 || tank cap. 73 || 30=11.4 laps Hillman IMP = 1.39.253 || tank cap. 32 || 30=15 laps Jaguar MK2 = 1.39.493 || tank cap. 68 || 30=27.8 laps MG A Race = 1.38.268 || tank cap. 45 || 30=16.2 laps MGBGT = 1.37.393 || tank cap. 45 || 30=24.4 laps Mini Cooper = 1.41.900 || tank cap. 25=28.9 laps Toyota 2000GT = 1.37.000 || tank cap. 60 || 30=11 laps Car pack 70's Porsche 911RS 27 = 1.37.336 || tank cap. 85L || 30=23.2 laps Alfa GTA = 1.37.678 || tank cap. 60 || 30=13.6 laps Alpine A110 = 1.40.307 || tank cap. 98 || 30=17.7 laps AMG 300SEL = 1.38.495 || tank cap. 105 || 30=16.2 laps BMW 2002 = 1.36.759 || tank cap. 70 || 30=11.3 laps Datsun 510 = 1.38.003 || tank cap. 46 || 30=17 laps Ford Escort = 1.36.852 || tank cap. 41 || 30=15.9 laps Mazda RX3 = 1.37.700 || tank cap. 60 || 30=11.9 laps In my opinion, the cars in red from the 60's class should be moved to the 70's class. What does the league think?
You are slow in the mini I was doing low 1'38's with it. But it would still remain in the 60's class on pace with some others. Sounds good to me. Looking at the ones who picked cars so far that would mean everyone is driving a 70's car then. I found the 60's cars quite boring to drive honestly, well most of the cars in this mod. The cars that stand out for me are not bazza cars originally physics wise. Perhaps we can also vote to just go with the 70's cars with the ones in red added to it? Unless a lot of people start picking 60's cars that is..
I don't mind making it an all 70's class with the cars in red added. The only 60's cars selected by 2 members are the red one's. Has to be agreed on though.
Or just make it one class and people can still pick the slow cars if they want, it will just make them drive at the back probably.
I had a think about this. If we make the TCL mod into 1 TCL class, I would have to delete the current series and construct the series again from the ground up. And you would all have to register again. It would make more sense to me to put the faster cars from the 60's class into the 70's class and then remove the 60's class from the signups. That way the current series can stay up and only the 60's registrations would have to move over to the 70's class where they can use the same cars.
Whatever is the simplest for you John. If it were up to me I would move the faster 60's cars to the 70's class and keep the 60's class. Those that registered in the 60's class and have chosen the faster cars (me) that have been moved either stay in the 60s class and choose another car or move over to the 70s class. Simples. Or just have one class with all cars available
Can't we just ignore the class in the results? So finish order is the normal order regardless of the class. Finishing P2 in a 60's car behind a 70's will still be seen as P2 and not P1.
Finally got to try out this mod pack today. I was fearing the worst based on some comments on here but its a bloody brilliant set of cars, looks ace and is great fun on track. I took the 911 out around Brands GP to compare it my own similar spec car that i've done well over a 100 real laps of BH. It felt absolutely spot on, the way it moved about, turned in and sounded was amazing. A really good mod of the car. I also tried the Healey, Escort and MGB, I'm surprised your saying some of the 60's cars can race with the 70's motors, because they certainly dont feel competitive to actually drive. Albeit i could have a good dice with the different era, the telling was there in the handling and power delivery. Someone like Tim or Jeff could no doubt ring the neck in a 60's car and beat some 70's boys but it would be a challenge. The Healey could match the 911 in a drag race on the straights (i tried it side by side several times ) but the 911 was superior in the handling, as you'd expect, so multiply that over a race distance! Brands GP is a superb circuit for this car set by the way, really good fun
One for all, and all for one !! TC Legends registers now as a single class. The 70's and 60's classes are now combined into 1 TC Legends class. Each race is therefore a single class event for all cars. That means you register for just 1 class on the signup list. Als previous signups have been preserved. You also get to keep the car you picked first of course. You can change you car choice at any time before the series starts (minus a few days )
Hey John, I registered at (in, to, into ? ) the series but I won't be able to make Bikernieki nor probably Mexico and Willow Springs. Unregistered from Bikernieki yet. Is it a problem ? Feel free to unregister me from the whole series then. (And to correct my english plz )
