EXACTLY, exactly and once again exactly that happened to me too... Except the fact that i didnt crashed on the wall, all the above happened to me too.. Please, can someone upload the start of the race somewhere, so we can see what happened? I mean.. why? :( Its the second time in a row that i started 8th and before the first corner i got last.. pffff...
Believe me Mark, i have the SAME question too..

Well that was a thrilling race.. Chaos at first corners, i saw myself punted hard from behind, after that i recovered last and i saw before the bridge, Phil's 906 flying doing pirouettes and some other cars spinning and crashing around. Luckily this time i avoided some of them and was trying to climb on. Claus wanted to make my life difficult even if was much much slower and somehow we had a bit touch.. James in front was cutting the road just on the limits, but the dust was coming just in from on my windshield and somehow it was distracting me.. :D After a couple of laps Mark spun and managed to pass him but after a bit and while i was after James and Bill, i did a mistake and he overtook me again.. A bit later he lost his breaking at the oval turn, i tried to overtake him from outside but then i lost my brakes and touched the fence.. A couple of laps later i found Claus again in front of me , he was a lap behind but when i did my move to overtake him, he changed his movement and we touched.. again.. :D.

I tried to calm down and focus at my race, i did some good laps at low 2:48, i managed to keep a distance from behind runners and thanks again to the ability of my 906 of no pitting, i finished 8th..

Congrats to Laurent for winning this, Tim for winning the champ and of course congrats to Paul (Anstey) and Jos. I believe if Paul was a bit more concentrated, he could be easily second, he was pretty fast at this race. I feel sorry for Phil, he was the big victim of the first lap chaos alongside with Davide, i believe he could win this because except the advantage of no pitting, he was the quickest of all of us.. Of course i don't want to downplay Laurent's victory, he is a hell of a fast alien ..eeerr driver i mean :D and did an excellent race yesterday.
Also congrats to all guys who raced and had fun with us :)

My big thanks also to Catlin for her great broadcasting and of course to John for hosting this very successful series.. Until next series, God bless you all and take care :)

Got 2nd on the grid. Not sure where that lap came from way faster than any I'd previously managed. I was 3rd or 4th going into T1 and just managed to avoid the start of the chaos. Laurent and I made our escape and for the opening laps it was as if our cars were connected by a short bungy cord as the gap grew and then closed numerous times. But then my concentration went for a break and coming down to the sharp right hander mid course I missed my braking point and only just tapped Laurent's car. This sent me into a spin. Sorry Laurent :(. Now 3 seconds adrift I tried to fight back but my concentration was still on a break and at exactly the same point the next lap I shot passed my braking point again. Now completely pissed off with my concentration we had a massive argument and it stormed out of the room just as I was coming down to T1. This time I didn't even bother to brake at all. Demanded my concentration get the hell back in the room and I managed for the rest of the race to have no more incidents. I was now in 4th and chasing Jos. Managed to get him down the straight behind the pit building. Pitted late on and didn't take on new tyres. I thought this move got me back ahead of Tim but looks like he pitted twice for some reason. Thanks to Jos who held up Tim for a few laps I managed to finish back in 2nd place the place I had before my concentration slipped. Now that I have got the hang of this Shelby I look forward to the next round...…..DOH!!!!!

Well done to Laurent :) Is that really your first win here at SRO. I think Caitlin mentioned it in the broadcast.
Well done to Tim for another excellent exhibition of how AC can be driven. :)

Thanks to Caitlin for all of the broadcast throughout the series. Hope you can do the next TCL series. :)
Thanks to John for organising the series.

Bring on the Touring cars :)

    thanks Vasilis.
ooh finished 8th in the series, 1 measly point behind Jos. I'll take that for my first series here out of 30 drivers :) if i hadnt have run out of fuel in this race and allowed those two pesky porsches by in the last 10m i would have been 7th overall  D'oh!! :D

After the events of the last race I decided not to qualify and start at the back in the hope of avoiding any incidents. I just abut managed to tip toe my way through, but quite honestly in my 11 years of league racing I don't think I've ever seen such a mess :(

I made lots of mistakes in the opening 15 minutes not really enjoying the race tbh. I eventually found myself behind Syd.....again :D I made too many errors to make it a decent race this time and found myself having to chase back.

Apologies to Bill who I hit as he was trying to get going again after a spin. He reversed across the track and I went for the gap in front but unfortunately he started moving forwards again, by which time I was committed and had no way of avoiding him :(

Thanks to John for putting on these events. I know how much work is involved behind the scenes and appreciate the efforts you put into this  Thanks also to Caitlin for her excellent commentary and of course to my fellow racers

In stead of writing my usual excuses, I made a last round celebration video. Including the first corner ... thing ... Enjoy.

For anyone wondering why I went through the pits twice and dropped so far back....
Someone set some voodoo on me!
I also include the final lap of my fight with Jos just so my cameras actually get some use

Thanks for posting that - I was dying to see what happened. I think I can understand why Laurent turned in there, but still don't get how so much of the field got involved in the incident at the bridge!?
(P.S. not to shoot myself down, but that pass was actually for 3rd ;))

You did a great job with the cameras. It looks like people need more preparation to install it and learn how to use it. Would have been better to post the camera patch a few days earlier.

I was still making it a few days earlier - fitting 3 hours of fiddly work in is tricky while I'm still working full time :p

It was a close one Tim, I was curious as well. Not sure who is at fault still from this angle. I'm happy to take the blame if that's the case though.

Seems like nobody braked or really tried to avoid the pile-up?

Still laughing with John's video, actually the thumbnail pic he has. :p Now i see what happens, a blue Nissan punted me, i spun and then chaos.. I still cant believe what happened before the bridge, i am sorry but i cant hold my laugh it seems so funny hahaha.. :D Cars flying and crashing all over, i even saw a nissan getting under the earth as Tim's BMW also and thats explain his second pit.. Great fights indeed and a Piquet-Senna move of Tim to Jos at the oval hairpin.. I dont know, i am seeing the video again and again and with the thumbnail pic combination i am still still laughing almost with tears hahaha !! Cheers :)

Great video John, the track looks superb from the external cameras, Shame it mostly felt a pain in the butt to race on! Better modelled cars might bring it alive. Good camera angles in both your video and Tims
That T1 really was a fiasco  I actually had a clear line through it on the right but as I went through it someone pulled out from the left melee and tagged me, then the rest piled into the back of us all. But does look like nobody bothered braking from further back o_O

  18. Because people still see yellow flags as an opportunity to gain free spots, just look at the blue/white car heading towards the pile up full throttle, trying to squeeze between the cars and the concrete barrier  (I don't know who is who in the video, which doesn't matter anyway).

Take the DRM 320i for a blast. I had to force myself to stop lapping in it - I was only supposed to be doing a flying lap for the cameras video but ended up driving for about an hour :D
The M1 is a bit of a bastard there, partly due to weight, mostly the mid engine and stiff suspension/almost locked diff. Difference being that it tries to kill you because it behaves like a 750Bhp loonie wagon as opposed to just having crap physics..

That blue Nissan disappeared in a black hole in the wall right after to meditate on his racing ethics. Sin has it's own reward :D
