Any bmw drivers using protyres? It's not working for me. If anybody does have it working, could you help me, tell me what version you're using?

It's not working with this mod( with any car).

 

Since 2.0 proTyres is reading the data.acd file directly, I checked the BMW and the performance lut file in the tyres.ini is referencing to an missing file:



I would assume there is an error in AC during loading, but AC falls back to an default table (so the tyres are not behaving as intended). The only reasonable fix should be for the content creator to reference the right file or add the missing file into the data.acd.

Could be other fault in other cars, but this is the for sure most common error when it's not working.

 

Thanks for detailed analysis, didn't know protyres creator was with us .
So no solution without tc legends creator fixing the car?
Protyres are working with datsun, but not with bmw or ford escort (only three cars I tried).

 

Since it's used online it will create an crc error if modified, and only the content creator knows the "right" one, even if the file is found or changed similar to the car that is working.

 

That's right, it's not there for tne BMW and Ford Escort. I mentioned it already in the select your car thread. Not sure what defaults it drops back to. At least I can't keep the fronts in temperature. The default AC tyre app shows data though.

 

AC reads an unknown default when either the wear or performance (heat) curve is missing/wrong, that why the standard app works.

 

Any chance of finding out what those are in case a fallback to default happens? Would be nice if it worked in protyres if that happens.

 

Would assume some kind of reversed engineering would be possible, but again, the best way is for the content creator to fix it as it would not behave as intended anyway. It's actually a bit surprising how common this kind of fault is, as it's easy to both locate and fix, just parse the log file after you load the car, the bmw have an hundred lines like below just after an load test:

@john, i think you are using an old version of this track mod. My versions files are one year newer than your download. Look on F1 classic site for their track downloads link, later versions are there. If not, i can zip up mine and send it to you? We used it recently in our (other league) for F1 '75 mod series.

 

I just overwrite "newer" version, didn't see any difference tbh...

Just had a fun practice session with Mark, good fun seeing the difference between the Porsche and the Mustang.
I need to be around 30 seconds a lap faster to compensate for the extra pit stops for tires

 

Judging by how my practice went, I expect the race to at least partly come down to who can keep out of the netting at the edge of the track. That stuff's evil.

 

What a great track this is for historic racing, you can really move the car around. A mixed grid of cars should looks ace too
