Track vote thread

Huh, weird. No idea then. Personally I'm a-okay with switching anything out that we need to in order to keep the grid open for 30 entrants. Do whatever ya' need to!

This addon up the pit boxes to 108 apparently. He does mention it will take the PC to its limit but I think thats if theres 108 cars on track.

 

I just want to point out that the main advantage of the Vintage version of the Nords is that there's far less walls for people to bounce-off of back onto the track when they inevitably hit something. Also tones of run-off comparatively. So I really feel like being so hardline for the "Superior" modern version is going to come back to bite a lot of the drivers who end up in traffic in the rump come race time. Not to mention it doesn't really fit the theme.

Also often grid expansion mods cause weird glithces/pitbox sharing that could be an issue during a stop.

 

Seem to remember there's an invisible barrier just behind most of the bushes and trees. Still a difficult and cool version though. But the modern one is imo one of the best tracks in any sim up there with S397's Sebring and le mans in RF2. Hey how if there's not enough pit boxes we can't use it and the next best thing is the vintage version if we are to stick with the green hell.

OK I'm sure John will do what's best. Such a shame that there seems to be a lack of tracks with large number of pit boxes..

 

I assume it is like the silverstone one that doesn;t show up originally when you install it. You have to do something weird to install it is servermanager correctly - make a new folder or something (It has been a while).
I will look it up and let you know.

For Imola,

Go to the Imola folder, then the UI folder
Create a new folder called 'imola' (all lower case) and copy the 3 default files into it.

You should now have 2 folders - imola and imola_osrw

They will both now show up in servermanager

 

The Imola UI folder once you install the pit addon

Create a new folder called imola

Copy the outline, preview and ui_track to the new folder

 

ps, the drivers do not need to do this. This is only for the track to show in servermanager

If you already have the entrylist file built, you could of course just manually set the track in the servercfg to

instead of

Code:

CONFIG_TRACK=imola

But I see you have changed the track anyway

 

Well luckily there's still about a month until the series starts so there is still time to field suggestions/ make changes etc etc. Even if we have to swap tracks instead of doing Grid-mods.
