Round 1 Brands Hatch GP - Thu Oct 1, 2020

Had to unregister, having internet problems hope to have it sorted for next week.

 

The race time is GMT based or is it already preset to my timezone? Just dont want to be late to my appointment.

 

these are going to be awful for lap1 whilst in a pack, especially with the corners at Brands Hatch, Druids is a git on a cold tyres. Could almost do with a warm up lap or two before forming for the grid but shame it doesnt let you do that really. Only other way would be to say no overtaking for a lap to avoid carnage but not sure all would agree with that, even if its sensible for these beasts.

The tires are so bad from cold I would hope people will have common sense forced onto them.
Perhaps a better option would be to ensure that tire warmers are left off on the server for all future sessions and events? We currently have everyone used to grip as they're on, and then being thrown straight out onto ice for the race - at least if all sessions start on ice drivers will be forced to understand the limitations they'll be under.

Having said that I'm now guaranteed to be the first into the tire wall at Druids on lap 1 - unless Matteo can beat me to it

Sorry to everybody I slowed down/got in the way of today. Track was narrow and awkward and I was extremely slow and unstable. My fault for Accidentally throwing a block on Toni when I was sideways and then spinning out a lap later, especially.


Edit: Okay I wasn't totally useless. My start was good. That was about it.

 

Got punted out at start on T1.

Was dead last after that and didnt have a single ************** clean lap in race.

Everything was pretty much **************.

 

Yeah, tough luck Toni. Again really sorry for accidentally weaving in front of you on the first Left-hander in Sector 1 that time. I was just trying to not spin out, genuinely wasn't trying to cover you off/move in front of you.

 

Had to disco since Turn 1 i tried avoiding the shadow realm best i could even braking at the right moment but the traffic in front was massive and then i hit the back of someones car. After that i just lost pace and thus disco. Ill see you all at Lausitzring.

 

Round 2 is Meadowdale, unless you're going to have to miss round 2. In which case that's a huge bummer, Meadowdale might be the most unique and enjoyable circuit on the calendar.

 

I am after today im gonna need to really spend time with the Lancia and figure out how to get and maintain a quicker pace. My retirement put me out of the running so that gives me breathing room to go and figure out what needs to be done.

 

I was slow too, man. But I genuinely think you should show up to Meadowdale. It's got a lot of banked corners that are easy to drive for the cars and suits the cars super, super, super well. I think it would be easier than Brands Hatch by a lot and a great place to work into a rhythm at. Every race is seat time, don't sit them out if you want to improve, get stuck into more races.

 

Really fun race today! Didn't expect to have great pace so it went better than expected. I didn't realise that one of the cars I let past at the end was in the same class as me so that's why I finished 2nd in class despite leading for a lot of the race :/

Don't know what to say. A good first half of the race I kept a good pace, with some funny battles with Tim and Louis. Than suddently after 35 mins my tires were completely done. As I saw that Louis needed 90 seconds to change his tires I decided to avoid to pit, thinking that I wouldn't lose all that time staying on the track. Unfortunately I was wrong. In a couple of laps Tim gained almost 3 seconds on me. My rear tires were dead. Car got the control on me and I was like a spectator. As I didn't have programmed any button to manage the turbo on my wheel, it was impossible to lower it a bit, so every time I put my foot on the throttle I spun.
In a few words: the worse 25 minutes of my entire (sim)racing career.

Judging by what I saw in the live streaming, unfortunately I guess I did the wrong blind bet . Capri seems to eat the tires, as Louis Defor and Y. Laakonen seemed to suffer similar issues and I don't see a way to make them last for 1h. Will try to manage rear tire consumption with turbo if it will make any difference, but I strongly doubt it.

Well done to Tim and Matzies fot their victory and to podium of both Div 1 and 2. Well, to be honest I'm sorry to read that Mac lost the lead for an excess of fairness. Sxxt happens
