I had no problems in the quali, but in the 1st lap racing cars just came out of nowhere and then disappeared again...

 

I guess that server was not so fit for tonight's race. In the frist laps I saw a lot of cars disappearing and reapparing in a different position, then suddently some disconnection by the server.

Anyway, this mod is not for me. I'm not the guy who can manage tyre temps for an hour. It's quite boring frankly. Reminds me the modern F1. I like to push all along the race. My fault, as I didn't have any time to try this mod before signing up for the series. So, I'm off from this champ. Sorry about that

I really think we need to stress test servers a week before the race weekends. Like a Track day where we run like a mock weekend with no stress if you cant show up but this went south real quick honestly...

 

I had worrying CPU problems already in quali.

On starting I got a drive through for some reason (false start but possibly due to CPU problem). After serving the penalty, it seemed to go better, since I didn't have many cars nearby, and I was recovering, I was in 17th position in the general.
Then I had a sudden disconnection, even though I didn't have a problem with my line. Probably due to problems with the CPU.

I'm out of the championship. I'm sorry, but it's unplayable for me.

Quite disappointed and a little pissed off, especially since I finally understood the car and had a decent pace.

 

Really not sure why we didn't restart that race with how many problems there were at the start.

 

Yep, cars lagging all over the place in lap one. I somehow managed to survive the mayhem and settled into the race trying to conserve tyres which was very tough. Had to keep backing off to cool them down but would have lasted the race had I not crashed on the banking with 20 minutes to go. Limped into the pits for repairs but blipped my engine on the way in.....race over.

 

Damn it. On for a possible 1st win in AC. Tyres were great no issues with 15 min to run. Then I saw a Ford Escort come through the barrier and head straight for just before the final turn. Almost chucked it off the track. A lap later I got disconnected. That was cruel. I guess if your names not Tim or Laurent or Phil the server will find a way of fixing the result . Still a great series though and I look forward to the next round. Can't think I'll get a better chance in the series though

 

LOL Paul - given the sheer number of CPU issues I guess this might be re-run somewhere else anyway.
My tire saving strategy would have worked I think, but given I lost my front left nearly half way into the final lap I'm going to say I went a lap too soon

I started on 70% boost and then dropped it to 60% as soon as I had some heat in the rears - stayed there until roughly 20 to go and upped it to 70 - with 90-100 on the fast sections. I'd been consciously trying to keep the load off my front left all race, still fell of a cliff though as predicted!

Well done to Louis on stealing the win at the end, back luck Paul then - must admit I completely missed what happened to you in the race! Who came 3rd and got Grp2 podiums?

 

Also sorry @John vd Geest it we hit on the banking during quali. I was unable to get a clean lap without having div2 cars in front during qualifying. Do they even qualify together (both classes) in real life? How about having separate qualifying sessions.. Probably won't work in AC.

 

Was there a broadcast? I can't see it.

 

Disaster event for me due to feeling a little ill but also with technical issues in the start. First the bug when keyboard stopped working completely for me in qualifying so I had to reboot and rejoin. That's something with the CSP 1.60 and using chat, which I started experiencing lately. So had only one qualifying run in the 5 last minutes when I rejoined.

Race start... I also thought it was only me at the front having lag and those CPU issues because everyone there started lagging for me in turns 1 and 2... hmmm but it seems in the end it's not only me. Why we didn't restart, that's the question? Felt really bummed out about it because it never happened to me in AC. However I'm sure it's difficult to call for a restart if it's not obvious to everyone and you see them continue racing instead. Eventually after a couple of corners it seemed ok, then suddenly cars that were behind me got in front and all around me so I spun out and rejoined in last. On running back through the field I was passing Dennis in the last banked turn where he was going wide and managed to get bellow him. He came a bit down then I think and we collided which I didn't see coming at all. Maybe got loose there. I'm gonna check that replay, that was a horrible accident. He retired and I had a messy double pitstop to fix everything and take tires and fuel to the end. I wanted to finish at least even two laps down. Really sorry Dennis if it's my fault!

So, I really looked forward to this as I could manage some decent pace in this underpowered car comparing to most of other Div.1 cars. I planned one pitstop but it seems the faster guys didn't so that would kind of demote me somewhat down towards 10th, but not 2 laps down! anyway, I did have fun running on the track, I'm just not sure if it creates some issues than we couldn't detect earlier because we had no proper testing. That lag issue is the biggest disappointment and always a simracing nightmare for me. I was on a couple of practice sessions only lapping with few people to do something worthy as testing it for issues.

Congrats to Laurent for the win! Good fight in the end which I tried to watch and not interrupt. Tim was fighting hard there and a little mistake and off track cost him the win I think. And Phil earlier was also in the mix and I think leading them in the Ferrari. It all looked awesome to watch.

 

Q Just went with endurance tyres and never got clean lap. Either mistake or too much traffic. Knew my start wasnt going to be the best so didnt really mind.

R I went for little higher wing for tyres. Race start was horrible. What I dont understand is that some see mess and lag and still they push in like hmm...
Drivers Without Patience . After that it was still hard having lots of Div I cars around who really slowed me on slower parts of track and then flew by on straight.
In those moments @Ted Hough got me. Too bad cant see it on stream. Had to lift off and gave him line to take but not too much of a space and he played it nicely.

Then some moments happened and found myself in class lead or 2nd in class. Cant remember anymore which way it was but nevertheless we drove 30minutes with @Mac Shepherd .
Went on followmode and wait for tyregame to start kicking. Felt I had more pace but not enough to keep his BMW behind me on main straight. Damn that was fast!
So rather just follow and make us room.

After half an hour started to give pressure nonstop and found my pace really good and tyres also. Then we went side by side couple corners and while turning to left, i gave
little kiss so we were both in trouble. I lifted of and let him go but then saw he had bad exit to next ( kind of ) straight and I was gaining fast so i lifted off, but Mac let me go.
Think my tyres won this for me, tho in clear air could have gone little faster.

Oh and @Michał Mazurek you gave me heart attack too times in final corner!!!

G.E.A.R finished with style driving together the chequered flag.

 

I was too! You could have gone a bit higher on the banking, it's faster too!

 

Like I said, mixed class qualifying is hard, I had to try. But sorry it happened team mate!
