I think you mean me there and not Louis. Considering I was down in P15 on the first lap and managed my tires to close the gap to you I would hardly call that a steal! My tires were gone too on the final lap, you put it in the grass and I didn't. I must say I was really surprised about your launch onto the front straight, I was not expecting you to get back at me. You seemed to have to lift more on the bump, I thought about moving into a defending position but wasn't sure about the gap between us and did not want to take us both out by moving over. Great fight to the end!

Very sorry for @Paul Anstey who deserved the win!!

    bad overtake Mr. Stoyanovich
Why do you not wait 2 seconds that we passed the long start finish straight? YOU HAVE A DIV 1 CAR !!!!!!

But take a look to the next race ;)

Oooh that start itself was bonkers in the first place. People going and not going at the green light, and that's most likely to server lag when some people get the green and some don't. But they went when others did, but then would get a jump start penalty because they didn't get the green light. This lag seems it lasted for the whole first two laps as there were couple more events where people were kind of floating on track and crashing.

Yeah just saw that, it was end of lap 8 I think, and what a disaster! I already apologized up there for the incident, just in case. That looked horrible. I was really trying hard to get back as fast as I could after that lag start and incidents, that is true! Of course, now after it is over, it looks like that I had to wait for s/f line to try to pass you. But then I also have to slow down to 250 kmh if I want to avoid to fly and the backflip at the downhill. And I'm only going at about 270 before turn 1. But I really didn't do anything intentional to crash there at the banking before. There was room down low that you left open, you went slower 20-30 kmh than me at the banking. And because of that I thought that you have seen me in the mirrors closing up fast and low and that you are leaving me room. This is why I was trying to pass you. Everything went fine, I had the car under control no problem. And you had all the room on the right for the exit, but when I was passing all the way down low at the yellow line, you went down on me when I was beside you. This didn't look like my fault when I looked at the replay.

I’m finding reading all these posts about lag and cpu problems odd as I didn’t see a single problem the whole race o_O Strange.
Lap 1 looked a real spectacle, what a car lineup! and was just thinking how well behaved everyone was driving when it all went to crap a few turns in  Someone kindly put me into the ‘concrete’ tyres that edged the apex but don’t know if someone hit him first. That put me right at the back  Then got into a tussle with Max and though fun for a few corners it ended in tears when we hit side by side and both spun losing me another 10 seconds :( this left me with a long lonely boring spell for about 40 minutes with nobody to race. But with others falling off or disco’d I gradually climbed to 9th  With 10mins remaining and a good gap over JvD behind and tyres in red zone, I thought I’ll stop for new boots and have some fun. Forgot that tyre stops are reaaally slow  lost 2 places. But boy did I have fun for last 7 mins setting faster race laps and making up a 20sec deficit to JvD and Stefan ahead  Also had a cracking chase with a Yellow Div 1 935 that was the highlight of my race. Finished 9th :)

I don't know what happened yet, either. I know we were fighting for the lead while 2-3 Div 1 cars were also trying to race around us. At some point, I ended up backwards but don't know why, really. Was super Awkward. The front of the Div-2 field really nips at the back of the Div-1 field and it leads to unsavoury situations sometimes.

Hey Mark, I'm really sorry that you think I hit you.

From my view what I saw was you and Toni Talvete having a little bit of a rub.

And as a matter of fact Nobody "Kindly" put you into the barriers. You missed the apex by 1-2 full car widths and smashed into the driver on your outside. In any of the SCCA, NASA, or Blancpain races I've been a steward or professional driver in; either a no-fault ruling would be issued for this (As you spun yourself out and didn't harm your competitor), or you would have received a slam-dunk penalty for missing the corner and hitting Toni, here. Tough luck, do better next time. :)

Yep, definitely had the straight-line speed advantage but my car had much worse traction (especially the uphill right hander near the end of the lap) and you gained tons of time on me through there every lap. I wasn't sure what happened when we made contact but I gave up the time and let you past anyway which I probably didn't need to do in hindsight. Fun battle though :D

@Filip Stoyanovich make pass safe and dont ever trust if someone sees you in their mirrors.
And even if they do, they dont need to give you any room. Its your job to make it safe.

Yes, well done @Toni Talvitie !! Did you actually finish in fourth place overall in a race with 14 Div1 cars?? Well done podiums!

Well done @Phil Brown you went through your tires a bit too soon at the end there, too bad. I wonder how @Paul Anstey was doing tire-wise. Would have been interesting to see if he would have fallen back a lot suddenly or not.

that cockpit photo is totally misleading, and you know it! as that is the view into that corner seen before you actually enter the corner. The apex is further around to the left and we are approaching it from the right. I am heading for the apex! But i had already altered my post last night to take your name out as wasnt sure who did it. Sorry for incriminating you originally. Tony moved over too far to the left and put me into those tyres that stop you dead in your tracks. Just a racing incident i guess but on lap1 with cold tyres on a wide track everyone should be giving each other space. I prefer the rule used in a pro-league i race in that says if you hit anyone on lap 1 you 'must' take a drive-thru penalty. No ifs, nor buts. Trust me it makes lap1 a lot more respectful unlike the numerous lap1 incidents we see here.

Well, that's disappointing. Quoting a rule book... this what you say would be totally OK if this was me late braking into a corner or something like that. This is a banking going through with full throttle and just need to line up the car however you need for the straight after. Instead of using all the rest of space on the right he had, he chose to turn down into me and block me from passing. That's almost like being passed on the straight but instead turn into him and putting him into wall. But I already came alongside, then he turned into me. And I'm not sure if you actually saw the situation.

@Dennis Matzies was racing me and other cars who were in a different division. And while doing it was racing too hard against others with plenty of contact. So Dennis, you turned down to teach me a lesson about passing and that caused the incident. I don't understand that. It wasn't a late braking move and a pass which couldn't get done without incident. It was a flat out and wide banking. It's easy to pass someone and to prevent someone passing by making a contact, I know that. I did all I could to not upset your line and leave you all the room to avoid contact. But you chose to go into me and make me pass you how you wanted it to happen.

    1. He had no business racing me because we are in different classes - he gets no points in overall standings being in front of me. He just gets points in Division 2 and me in Division 1.
    2. He was leading Div.2 and had plenty of time gap between him and 2nd place, while I passed earlier and tried to get away from Laurent's powerful Porsche on that huge straight line.

Exactly what I thought for about 35mn as again, in spite of my tire managing try, rear left was again red-dead @mn25, rear right @mn35, and front left @mn40. I was then asking myself if those "endurance" tires aren't even worse than a medium modern F1 compound, while everyone knows that they're awful on reliability aspect. The behave quite the same : all of a sudden, you loose so much grip in a turn, almost like due to a puncture..

Also, I don't feel the road, the tires behaviour and grip, and I must say I don't get the car's revving neither all the transmission aspects of this mod sadly.
Add that I should keep taking much care of my tires PLUS making a stop at mid-race, and will still be as slow as a snail. I have no problems being a back-marker, but I do have a problem having pleasure with this mod.
I'm then really thinking about retiring from this series as a result.

I had lag issues too in the first lap, cars hovering about. So I tried to take it easy and keep a distance. Other people disagreed and I got hit as a result I guess.

So for the race I had made my setup quite understeery in trying to keep the rears in check for the whole hour. This resulted in a unenjoyable driving Capri, which was still chewing its tires even when I raced low boost all race. Like mentioned above, it is not much fun having to drive on ice for most of the race.
And I was indeed wondering why your 935 had so much pace in the last lap Mark. I didn't notice you had stopped for new tires. :) Well at least team Legends has done well championship wise.
I will try my hand on a different set-up for the next race, but if that doesn't help I am contemplating retirering the Capri.

    Congrats to the podium finishers.

Mark - you have an I9! (apparently, although no idea what 3600 is meant to say as it's no processor I've heard of)
Your overheads would be so far above what AC normally asks, that it could use double the CPU time without you noticing:p
On the other hand I have no doubt my old 4790k would have utterly died last night.

I'll be curious to see how many people have had content manager related issues though - I saw Filip mention that he looses keyboard control if he posts in chat, which is a problem I now have too (I think Filip also uses a Rift?) so I didn't dare type anything until after the race.
Something is not right in the track, but I think content manager/shaders patch also probably helped screw a lot of the grid over.

I agree with not trusting mirrors, but by the time you're past the B-pillar (often earlier) then pretty much all rule books consider you to have a right to be there - so actually the car being passed is expected to leave room. (this is why people should be using Helicorsa - it's even a hard requirement of that Ferrari competition running at the moment, to ensure parity between VR and monitor users in these situations)
Normally the car that is furthest forward is considered to have the right to choose their line, but they can't simply drive into a vehicle that is alongside them.
'Escorting' said vehicle onto the dirt is a generally accepted grey area in real motorsport (Really not recommended in sim-racing due to lag), or holding them wide mid-turn is equally legal.
The final laps of Race 24 in the Australian Supercars series at Townsville this year have a particularly cheeky example of this
And Wednesday I had Fabri accidentally hold me very wide and scupper a passing move when he locked a brake - I honestly thought he'd done it tactically at the time.. That would have been perfectly legal had he done that intentionally (I speak as moderator for that series).

I've not seen this actual incident yet, but an MSA/FIA/ACO rulling would look at it using that criteria as a starting point, I believe SRO uses MSA rules as it's guide (edit - it does, see here: https://simracingonline.co.uk/threads/sim-racing-online-racing-rules-and-regulations.126/#post-849 .)

Ow, I know how to work around this issue. It happens with the new chat app indeed. When you are done typing you need to click outside the chat app to remove the focus it has otherwise the ESC-key won't work.
