You're not entitled to extra room because you have cold tires.

I'm sorry but this incident comes down to you not being able to drive the car well. You just admitted it by saying "I had cold tires and understeered into him".

 

Nobody. I do like to help if people have an open mind and the correct attitude, though, and normally I charge about $30-50/hr for Simulator and $1500 a day for real-life coaching.

Full honesty though - I like to help. I've been racing for 10 years at various levels in the US on all kinds of surfaces, disciplines, drivetrain types etc. If anybody has any questions about driving techniques, incident review, second opinions on something. My DM's are open. I mostly work weekends and nights with a racing school online right now due to COVID so I might not be able to respond immediately, but send me anything you want looked at.

Incidents, driving technique reviews, onboard laps etc. I will admit I don't know much about "Meta" things that make the car work better in the sim that wouldn't work in a real car, like setup exploits etc, so I might be useless in that regard. I've done a lot of coaching, marshalling, driving in all kinds of stuff though and I'm always willing to share if somebody asks.

I just wanted Mark to have some data to look at in this particular instance to understand the accident was avoidable from both driver's perspective. It's important to remember that even if you're upset; it takes two drivers to cause an accident.

Must this continue? I said my car had cold tyre understeer...you have added the 'into him' bit
jeez man, go to the replay and watch it from my cockpit and watch my steering input, i am going left for the corner, my sole aim at that moment! if another car comes laterally into my side from the right there is nothing i can do about that. Like i said earlier, we arent even at what i would call racing speeds yet as everyone was in a shaking out formation on cold tyres, aware that there are cars all around and the next corner is a right turn (straight after) so why would i expect a car on my right to move over to the left on me?
So cut the derogatory remarks about not being able to drive the car, i have plenty enough experience thanks.
If this continued bee in your bonnet is because i mistakenly named you on the night, then forget it. As i use VR i dont get name tags on the cars and simply thought it was you who had hit me, as your name was nearest in the stracker list. But i had edited my post on the night to take your name out, no offence was intended.

If you watch carefully this frame, in the distance you can see another car flying over the parabolica That driver must be hurt too!!

 

That's the shadow of that panel or a dust on your screen

Thanks for testing this out Tim. I have a lot to learn when it comes to tire life, but this reassures me a little bit; during my test run at Brands Hatch, while I had been pushing perhaps too hard, the car was close to undriveable after an hour and my lap times were down by around two seconds. Problem is I had taken too little fuel with me at the start, and ended up waiting longer in the pits for fuel than for tires. I think I was a little too turbo-happy, and hadn't taken into account the extra fuel burned.
