Well, that explains it. :( I expected you too in the mix there, both in the fight for the grid and in the race, judging from that good practice session on the server we've had.

Anyway, congrats also to the Division 2 winner and both podiums fighters! ;)

That was damn cruel, hour long race, 9th place finish in the bag and I run out of fuel on the last straight of the race :( the fuel calc must be well out for this track as i put 4 extra laps fuel in and still ran out  bitter pill to swallow after a tough long drive.
Ironically had my best race of the season, keeping in touch with the back end of the top 10 whilst enjoying some race long chases and position swaps with several drivers, particularly Maxime, Mac and Tudor
Had only one real mishap mid race when the turbo tried to pull my tyres off and sent me spinning at high speed where you wouldn’t expect it. Poor Mac got caught up in it and had her own big spinning moment. The last 10 minutes were great with Mac trying to reel me in and having to be as consistent as I could on worn boots. Then the dreaded fuel light pinged on, I dropped the turbo right down for 2-3 laps but it wasn’t enough to save me and I lost 3 damn places in the final corner as I rolled over the line out of Benzina :( Finished 12th.
Congrats to the podium and all who raced, it was a fantastic combination

Sim Racing is brutal man. That's why I don't pracitise so much anymore. You can train for hours and then in the race you get taken out by a spinner like Mac Shepherd.
It's completely out of your hands with what can happen to you on track.

where do i find that Laurent? Not had any issues with fuelling in this series upto last night. :( Did we go one lap longer than planned? Even so, i had supposedly put fuel in for 30laps (assumed race would actually be 28laps) then rounded my fuel up by 5L as a safeguard .
Remembered over-night i had another half spin at Spoon that cost me a place and nearly clobbered Maxime as he sped past, so yes the luck of battle sometimes....

"I did my job yesterday". This is probably how someone doing this for a living would rate the race I did yesterday. I wasn't the fastest div2 car on the track but managed a very consistent pace and defended well the P1 gift that @Mac Shepherd gave me yesterday against @Toni Talvitie, Mac and @John vd Geest 's attacks robustly. I'm really sorry for Mac. She had a brutal race pace. Totally unreachable for any of the other div2 cars on the track and many of the div1s! Perhaps, I'd say, too fast, if that makes sense in a racing context. Watching the replay, it appears Mac's car was very tricky to drive at times. Maybe the setup was very fast but difficult to handle and Suzuka is not very forgiving in an hour race. I think that car could have spared 0.5secs per lap (or more) and still would have won the race comfortably yesterday, although getting that balance right is pretty difficult especially considering Toni's qualy lap (was that a 2:06!?). It wasn't only those mistakes and spins, I think Mac could have recovered from them and catch with John and me, the already mentioned incident with @Mark Johnson added injury to insult and I think there went Mac's hope for a maiden win at SRO. I'm sure this is coming soon Mac, that fantastic pace will be rewarded sooner rather than later.
Congrats to @Filip Stoyanovich, @Laurent Londes and @Phil Brown for the podium on div1 (you continue to get very little broadcast time guys... keeping 10 secs gap between cars is not good for sponsors! :p You may consider lifting the throttle a bit at times and allowing for some chasing and attacks on div1 as well...). This would give @Caitlin Penny a reason to show more of your races. Thanks a lot to Caitlin for a great stream and commentary (good to see you corrected that reference to the incident at Nords with Mac ;)). And congrats to John for a great chase and Mac for the podium.
Finally a special mention to @Maxime Tendil, my teammate at Crank of Brothers, this new team that completed its first race yesterday at Suzuka. His setup was critical for the win and he was himself close to P3. Not a bad way to start for the team.
Thanks for setting this up John and see you on Thursday at Sebring .
Here the race from my angle. Enjoy!

Qualified on pole. I could have gone a few tenths quicker or maybe half a second but didn't get the lap together.

Considering I had the pole I was expecting a close fight with Filip. But he just ran away in the first laps.. I was thinking he was going for a different strategy and had to stop for a while.. but here is why..

Soooo.. aaargh, that is something I need to start using, full boost! I didn't even use full boost during qualifying and not at all during the race. I thought the same thing when I read that Matteo used it during his qualy lap on the Nordschleife. I really need to start testing it and seeing how much it destroys the engine.

Lonely race from start to finish in P2 for me. I was starting to catch Filip in the end (as he also mentioned) but the gap was too big. Still enjoyed lapping the track!

A lot of action in Div 2 again. I was also expecting Toni to win but got bad luck. And Mac seems to be ahead by quite a lot in every race but has some incident at some point. Loved seeing John fighting for the win with Jos! Well done guys.

Very important, Laurent. Considering the power limitations of the Escort, I use the boost very strategically when I have to defend (more than attack). Did it at Nords and yesterday to keep @John vd Geest from being very dangerously close on the straights! I wouldn't have used against @Mac Shepherd. There is no boost you can put on the Escort to keep in front of that brutal BMW!

The long fight with John was really intense even if we only had close racing a few times. Keeping that 0.7 secs gap was not easy at all. Well done John.

Thanks. The car had pace but it just chewed through the rear tyres as usual and there wasn't anything I could have done to fix that. I was running with the most understeery setup I could make and it was still very difficult to drive.

I think this is what John meant, Mac. That Mark spin took you out and you could do nothing about it...

just watched the commentary replay coverage again this morning, fantastic as always.
Think i need to remind Caitlan (for the sake of her viewers :p ) that i have 200bhp less than the other Porsche Div 1 cars  and only 21bhp more than the Lancias in Div 2 , hence why i am stuck in battles with Lancias and Escorts  but really enjoyed my race long scraps last night. The fuel debacle was just poor reward for a decent drive. :(
Sorry again to Mac, wasnt even a mistake on my behalf that caused the spin, the tyres literally just broke contact at full speed mid way along that sweeping turn upto Spoon, it was so sudden and unexpected that it threw me into an instant spin as the car pivoted inward.

Its just such a privilige to be able to race these famous historic monsters, so glad that SRO took up the series so we could race them  Onwards to Sebring.....

Hi there Mark. Why do you have such little horsepower? I didn't think there was a difference, so sorry if I've missed something!

@Jos Ogos yeah 2.06.5 or something.
I had actually race pace of 2.09 lows but last 5 days or so slept about 20hours total and long hours in work.
Just couldnt do the race anymore.
@Caitlin Penny ..was wondering should i just park at pits but found a nice spot there in the corner of 2 walls, so didnt run out by mistake. This happened when started to hit fellow drivers..

i am in the 1978 K2 Porsche 935, the others are in 1979 K3 Porkers. When i picked it i thought it would be good for fighting similar chosen and against the quicker Div 2 drivers, as didnt feel i could do the Div1 monsters justice. But nobody else took it after round 1  and the quick Div 2 drivers upped their game! The Escorts seem very quick since their tyre model improvement imo. Add to that the better agility of the Div2's makes it a hard battle. Still i am enjoying it now i am getting a better hang of the car, trying to drive it more on the throttle and brake as its too clumsy in some corners otherwise. :)

Another frustrating race for me last night. I didn't do as much practice for this race as I did in the previous round and most of the time was spent trying to make the car more stable, which I could never manage. The car had good pace around here but the rear tyres were constantly overheated and pretty much dead by the last 20 minutes of the race. Made a few mistakes but I couldn't have really avoided that because of how hard the car was to drive.
