Hi Robbie. Normally we do not allow any "artificial" aids in our online racing and that is the case with this event.
It looks like we might have a new Superstar on our hands looking at Robbie's lap times A strong 1st race at SRO for sure, except for forgetting to add race fuel before the start. This faux-pas gave me the lead when he had to stop to fix this, although I was only a couple of secs behind at the time and looking forward to see how the race would play out over the full distance. Having been given this unexpected advantage, I was still surprised to pull out time each lap on Brian, Gerhard and Bjorn who all had run fast laps in Qual, I was thinking it would be a much closer race overall. Of course once you start thinking it's in the bag, fate steps in and shows you it isn't. I can't remember having a Windows dropping to desktop problem during an online race for many years now, but guess what, it did it tonight. Of course it happened at a corner that would result in major damage i.e. Stirling, before I could even think about slamming on the brakes to avoid it. After that my steering was out of alignment, with fast response on left turns and slow on right turns, so it was very unpredictable. I elected to stay out and try and salvage something, due to the lengthy repair times this Sim applies when you stop, but that didn't work out and a couple or three more leery moments damaged the steering even more and there was nothing to do but cruise slowly to the flag. After so much success and good luck in this series, it seemed like Fate wanted some payback!
Sorry for you Ken, we all know what it takes to win at pc2 here: to leave you behind! Lucky win for me after Robbie and you were out. But: epic fight with Brian, i was his shadow for 40 min. Txs mate, great racing. Also thanks to Björn for his support, he would have deserved a podium tonight. Looking forward to the Ginetta series, this car is destroying my nerves Cu you all at Silverstone!
Hi Guys Congrats to all podium players ! , and eco Ken about Robbie super lap times! But you where also damned fast Ken! At last some part off the action again, a great thank you to Gerhard who had great impact on me coming around again. Hope to be able to do the same for you some day. Race was ok some little to close for Ken and Robbie at start I think that made us behind eas off a bit. I was follow Gerhard who follow Brian for some time until I hit a kerb to hard and was just able to save the car from to much damage. After that I really couldn´t get the pace to catch up again. I saw Ken, got to have some trouble with the car, and let me pass "thank you" its a hard track to pass on even a car with problem, not to ruin the race. In the end I could see Robbie closing in lap by lap and at 5min mark or so I couldn´t keep the pace . And I did forgot the Kers must off the time "thank you Gerhard for pointing out that it existed" I´v seen the blue bar for it but not know how it worked.
As I went to the grid I thought it said "braking help on". Somehow I had hit the key to turn that stupid thing on and whenever I was a bit sideways it would brake on its own and slow me down big time or it would send me off in a high speed curve. I guess in pc2 you cant delete a key for these settings (?)you just have to set it to something you'd never hit by accident..bah.
Was a fun race. I will not forget to change my setup from quali again haha. I might have to give silverstone a go next time around. I really enjoyed this.
Want to hear a funny story? I didn't know it existed/worked with this car either and have never used it in any of the races so far.
