My game's doing that thing where it can't download the race mod since I did this event two years ago. Where do I find the previous race mod to delete it?
Fire up your rF2 Launcher and click into the Content page. Scroll to the bottom and you will have lots of "Mod" files. It is safe to click on any that refer to previous races e.g. "SRO Historic F3 R6" and uninstall them. When you next join the server it will re-download the race mod file again.
Well nice race! Pole, led all race, FL and win. Tried to do 2.06 low in Q but don't had enough laps. I tried again in race, but had a big moment in T1.. thought it was better not do more adventures and get to the end. Nice Champ. Shame that I only did 2 races. Monaco and this one. Thanks to @Rui Santos for the invitation for this community. In future I will try to do more races, depends the race time \ day and hour
Sorry to hear that Michael. Do you know you can program a key/button to reset FFB? It doesn't always work 100% of the time, but it has for me sometimes.
Fantastic pace @Ricardo Ferreira. I'm now glad you didn't join the last three races, although I'm sure we would have learnt something from you in addition to loads of humility . I'll make a shorter video this time because other than the initial fight with @Caitlin Penny the race became a solo act and quite boring. I'll recap a bit a few other issues in a follow up post with the video of the race. Congrats also to @Gert-Jan van Osch for P2.
Yes I know that and I re-programed the keyboard when I got my new wheel a few months back. I thought I had used the same key as rf1 but maybe not. Thanks
It have happen to me a few times that FFB is missing when entering the track or pitbox, esc and go back usually fix it as well. (now I try to enter the track in time, and make an quick FFB check just in case)
Thanks to everyone who supported this series all the way to this final race. Unfortunately Barrett was unable to run in this final event which left the door open for Jens to sneak through at the final hurdle and take the Drivers Championship win. Well done to both of them for strong performances in the series and here's looking forward to the upcoming Belgium 66 Festival series, using the same mod with the addition of F2 & F1 specific races, starting in January.
Today's race was much less intense than the last two with the EVE F3... We were blown away by the speed of @Ricardo Ferreira and the early race fight with @Caitlin Penny for P3 detached us from a potential slipstream on the back of @Gert-Jan van Osch car... I doubt I would have kept his pace today as I took a wild bet to incorporate some of Ricardo's last-minute advice on the setup which didn't deliver on my hands... The pace I managed to sustain during the race was a few tens slower than what I had managed with my own setup. So a lesson (that should be well known by now) not to engage in last-minute changes that haven't been properly tested... I only include the 'intense' part of the race in the video today. The rest was really a boring lap after lap around the historic Spielberg track. I enjoyed the fight with Caitlin and look forward to the Belgium special with the EVE family. As always, thanks to @Ken Jagger for setting this wonderful series, congrats to Ricardo and Gert-Jan and my sincere congratulations to @Jens Roos for winning the championship. I really hope my well-intentioned messages about alternatives to the scoring systems in line with what Matteo Santini is proposing is not misinterpreted. As always, the video of the race: And the normal (non vintage) version:
Thank you all, I have noticed the discussion around the championship win, no offense taken. For sure I wasn't the fastest driver, and things went my way as well but a win is a win . @Gert-Jan van Osch might have been faster, but missed one race and had an less successful race at Spa, that I did finish 2nd close to Jos. Without doubt there is pros and cons of the different point systems discussed, but current system do favor that you show up and do an decent race. Many (or most) of my championship wins here at SRO are very rare on pure speed, but more related to commitment and race craft, stay out of trouble and finish the race.
Any current discussions about the points scoring system refers only to John's AC League and not to any other sims/series I will be hosting.
We all know what the point scoring system when we start... I did not expect to win it since I did not attend at Monaco. On hindsight the haybail that took me out at Spa due to Ottos crash on lap 1 cost me valuable points... but that is all in the game... Consistency is key in simracing. When you are on the top at the end you are the deserved champion...
