Dirt 2 is currently on sale for £9.99 with all content. This is the ultimate form of off-road driving for many, and the Racenet online system allows organisations like SimRacingOnline to run realistic (this is important) Full on Rallies featuring as many or as few variants of car as we like. With this in mind, and partly also due to my own personal passion for the one-and-done type of competition Rallying provides, I ask the community; Do you want to see Dirt Rally 1/2 content on SRO? Do you want to see World Rallycross content or blasting through the forests with split times to match? Let us know, because I know I want to punt an Impreza through the forests as part of an SRO event for sure.
I have Dirt Rally 2 and really enjoy it. I am currently racing two different seasons, one RWD and one FWD. Although I am well off the fastest guys pace its really quite a rush racing all the challenging rally stages from locations all over the world. The sensation of speed is awesome and addictive. I would definitely participate if there is enough interest on here.
I don't know how the series you're in works, but I'd be pushing for a more hardcore approach, no restarts and the like to keep the pack together. I'm really intrigued in the WRX side as well. As you say, interest pending, but there's so much freedom with how Racenet works that we could leave each round up for 2 weeks at a time and let people complete it at their own pace.
I have Dirt Rally 2.0, I bought it a couple of months ago. I have done a couple of rallies on racenet but I have not even looked at the rallycross ...yet. I should really try it out. I would be interested in rally events or rallycross here at SRO.
