I'm glad you liked it, but I felt like a tag-along considering the fact Jos and Mac were up front the whole time and I didn't get there until the end. Mac or @Jos Ogos deserved that win far, far more than I did, for sure. Great racing as always Jos, Maddie, you two rock!

Mixed feelings about yesterday's race. Disappointed with my mistake  in the last hairpin of the race that cost me the chances I had to win the race...
@Ted Hough did a much better job in that crucial time of the race and got the win. Congrats to him for a great race.

The race was in most ways typical of Belgium 66: Massive pileup in Eau Rouge after the start, lots of slipstreams (it was really impossible to shake Mac off my tail during the race), and a tight end... The thing I find difficult to reconcile in this type of event is Mac's total commitment to her team. I realised, early in the race, that she wasn't keen on maximising our chances to keep the others behind as she wasn't taking the opportunities to lead and push, so I found myself keeping the pace for most of the race. That was keeping steady the 9 to 10 secs advantage we had over Ted and the rest of the grid (until we lost 3secs due to a lapped driver that heavily interrupted us on Eau Rouge - that wasn't great) but I tried from time to time to check if she would play ball as it was obvious to me that our chances to win the race would be greater if we kept the advantage over the rest.

The lack of cooperation from @Mac Shepherd in the first part of the race turned into active blocking and slowing down in the last part which I found very awkward for a first round in a series (actually it doesn't strike me as pure racing in any case). Mac's maiden victory at SRO is long due considering her pace, but it's not going to happen by slowing down and aiding her teammate to join the battle... 1/2 chances becoming 1/3 is never improving the prospect of a win. She won yesterday the crown for teammate of 2021 whatever happens in the remaining 361 days of the year :D.
I leave here the video of the race:

I thought it was pointless to just keep swapping positions over and over again to extend a lead that was already really big after the first lap. When Ted secured third I realised that it was possible that we could get a 1-2 if we played our cards right so I started backing up (legally of course :p) at a couple of areas to allow him to catch up. Ted definitely owes me for that haha

First, congratulations to the winners. Good job.

I would like to ask what happened at the start of the race, some cars disappeared, appeared lagging left and right. In my opinion, the technical problems affected not only the directly affected people, but also outsiders. Someone in the chat wrote about it, I was sure the race would be restarted; I slowed down but the race continued, so I kept going, but not far. The car was not resistant to the problems of others.

Tactics are part of racing, Jos. The team that out-smarts the other driver in the spirit of competition is as merited as the solo driver who leads 13/14 laps and then loses the lead on the last corner because they brake 20 meters too late ;)

The only lap you have to lead is the very last one - by any means necessary, that's what racing is at its core.

And don't worry about Maddie too much, she will win in the F2 and F1 cars. The F3 cars had an issue where anybody could just take 99% of the track flat out. The driver skill will play more into the equation the more difficult the cars become, I have no doubt about that.

If you didn't complete at least 1 racing lap, you do not get counted in the results, so without going over the results files again, I'm guessing that's what happened Martyn.
