    Rob,
    lifted from the PCGB rules:-
    Lap one crash avoidance
As everyone flies towards turn one, staring at the back of the car in front, they inevitably lose focus of their braking point. Carnage ensues. We want to see the pack settle into exciting racing, with a clean, careful, lap one. So we have a penalty system. If you hit somebody and cause them to spin on lap one, you *must* make a pit lane drive-through penalty as soon as the lap ends (i.e. at the end of lap 1 simply drive straight through the pits). You are responsible for taking this action yourself — if you’re unsure, but think you may have hit a car and caused it to spin, err on the side of caution and take the drive through. Don’t let a post-race replay be the arbiter, do the right thing yourself. If you fail to pit and are later shown to have caused a lap one incident, you will forfeit the next race meet on the calendar. (or start from the pitlane at Race organisers discretion - effectively back of the grid)
Slight contacts or door rubbing does not count, likewise if you are hit from behind and then hit another car, that is not down to you and therefore no penalty.
I would also say, if you can give the position back to the person you nerfed safely, without causing further incidents, then do that instead of taking a drive through penalty.

Another one for people to note:-
    Rejoining the track
Speaking of crashes. If you spin off, don’t rejoin the track by…
    • backing onto it, unless there is no alternative
    • driving in front of another competitor and ruining their race
    • darting back onto the track without a clear, long view of the racing surface behind you

    Another i agree with:-
    Sporting behaviour
These are not obligatory actions, but they all happened by driver's choice.

    • If you believe you have gained a position on a competitor unjustly, pull over to the side in a safer spot and allow them to take the position back
    • If you spin a fellow competitor or cause an incident with their car, pull over to the side in a safer spot and allow them to take the position back

Thx Mark . Our punt rule is basically this & the rejoin is also the same ;) Seems they are right in line with our system rules already ! … so all we need to express is the new verbiage of the immediate drive threw if you cause a spin or off on lap 1 ! ..

No problem Rob, we have 30+ Porsche cup cars in our rounds so we needed this rule enforced and it really did tidy up the lap1 of every race and was a pleasure to see in live broadcasts with a full pack still racing but giving each other room in the early laps. :)

With alot of this its going to come down to interpretation, choose words wisely. Not sure Punt is an approapriate term as it implies to me a dive from behind from distance into the back, what about a late brake to the inside...

Lesson learned and I'll take any penalties you find appropriate.

had a good battle with your Porsche nearly the whole race Karl. I was in the green Aston :)

with regards the orange zone lap 1, of course there will be the odd incident that requires moderating but the idea is to make you think before you act rashly, ie making silly lunges on cold tyres or not braking enough for tight corners with a pack of cars ahead of you. If you know in your head that any contact will make you take a costly drive-thru penalty, you are less likely to do something stupid in the vain hope of gaining an early position in such a long race. You have 90minutes to get the job done!

Which works ok for braking into the chicane, but everytrhing seemed to kick off, i assume as people got better / worse acceleration than others out of it

doesnt matter, same rule applies, dont hit other cars! give space. What do they hope to achieve within the first few corners of a 90minute race? Get aero damage at somewhere like Monza in lap1 of 50 and you will lose far more places than the one you took a risk for in those early corners.

I think the easiest thing to do is simply to delete the T1's at each course.;)

Otherwise the leagues that have harder penalties for an "Orange Zone" (of 1 lap or sometimes less) is something that definitely works.

Hello, I would like two pieces of information:
    1. Where do I report against a driver?
    2. The driver in question is not registered for the monza race (at least not with the name that made the race), how should I proceed to report?

    Tks...

Two drivers in this event were disqualified because they were not registered. This is a big problem and can result in a site ban. Please do not race in SRO events unless you are registered. You could receive a site ban if you do.

In Italy we say: "Asking is lawful, Answering is courtesy":rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I really doubt that a pm only to the driver that get penalties is a "transparent way" to assign penalties. You don't need to create discussions on this. Simply open a topic for penalties in which everyone can see which penalties were assigned in any events. Then you close the single topic to avoid discussion, because that must not become the "wall of shame" for sure. After you post your decision you can deal with any request to review, or simply state that your decision is not appealable. Like it is in every place on earth talkin about real life and simracing. This is a "transparent way".

Not showing penalties assigned to the drivers in any event can lead drivers feel that there's something to "hide". I bet this is not the case, and we're driving for fun, that's sure.
But a penalty report, after a review from 6 admins, would be surely appreciated.

No Mark, it is how many points you are behind the driver in front of you in the championship;)
