Race choices members can always ask for a certain track and mod and we will put that race on as long as we don't get to many at the same time as we are limited with the amount of servers we have, in RF1 & 2 general discussion there is a post asking for suggestions on races but know one seemed to bother to reply.

I asked them because I'm looking for a place "to be" in the next years, and this may be it.. so i asked, and asked, and asked "As for suggestions we are open to those all the time. We also do polls ahead of time asking what cars tracks ect people would like to do for the next month." Great! Great.... "Your point to me comes across as we should be able to host our own events to get what we want" That was not a sentence, .. but a question.. I'm glad the answer is NO (it was a logic possibility tough) "out of the comfort zone" ... Exactly my point Wayne, exactly my point - that the one's that make the combos woulnd't I did not mean 100% of the time.. just sometimes (that was my point... ) Forget the prizes... the prize is to have a COOL place to race Finally, a "community"... well in that case i'll stick arround if you'll have me And of course, in this case, not only would i pay but i would be glad to do so.. best regards Ricardo Gomes

Definitely there's no issue to pay what... a few bucks a year? It costs so much less than going shopping for food

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas! Well I'm going to throw you guys an idea, maybe a crazy one but I just thought about it. What about to we normal users, can propose a new series with our favourite sims, for let's say something like 5 or 10 €? It could be a win-win situation, users can race in a series with his favourite mods, and SRO gets some funding to keep this great site live. I'll put just an example. I would be happy to pay 5 or 10 € to drive in a new series in AMS with the regular format, the 1h event with 45 min race, no driving aids (except auto clutch), etc., with a mod of my choice, let's say for example classic F1 mod. Could it be something achievable?
If it is really succesfull it can also dig it's own grave with too many series on offer and not enough people to participate in each one.
It is something we have been discussing on and off for a long time. I will mention this again at our next monthly admin meeting. It is a good idea the only part that worries me if there were to many who wanted to run there own champ we would need to put on more servers and that costs money, what we charged for the championship would be cancelled out with having to provide another server or servers. Also Tim has a good point as well, If there were only a handful who wanted to run there own champ it may be possible. We will discuss this and post here again soon.
In reply to Tim's and Nigel's worries you could limit the sponsored series to only one running the same week.

As Larry said, sponsored series could be limited to something like a new custom championship every 3 or 4 months, just to have 3 or 4 per year, and don't overload the servers. Another option could be, to pay just for one custom single event, not a series. For example, if some user wants a single race with, I don't know, DTM cars or F1 cars, or even some kind of single 2h endurance race, to pay 10€ to make just this stand alone event. Don't take my post too serious, I'm just throwing ideas.
If we did decide to have members have there own championship, That would only allow donators and that would be limited, I say championships in the sense of the word that could mean a one off race, As stated we have not discussed this yet I would be in favour but I could be voted out with a no.
This is an old thread when we did charge a yearly fee a couple of years ago there are no plans now or in the future to charge a fee, We will rely on members kind donations.
I have already setup a regular payment of £5 per month on paypal to the site . Having a history of running a racing site many years ago I think it is important to financially support the organisation and administration of our races. For me this also demonstrates my commitment and shows appreciation of the work that goes into the running of the site and I am happy for any funds I donate to be used for whatever purposes the admins see fit. I really dont have an opinion regarding the level of donation that others make as I feel people should pay what they think is appropriate for them. I wont ramble on any more but when I paid a fair amount for my wheel, seat and broadband as well as the considerable time commitment online , racing and qualifying, it seems pointless to not pay something to ensure a good well organised racing experience.
