The foreshadowing....OH THE foreshadowing!! Ironically if I had put in the fuel stated in chat I would have finished the race properly. But I was sure my crew chief said 110 litres for 60 mins... so I put in 115 litres. NEVER AGAIN!! I will be putting in 2 laps more than he suggests. Crew chief is definitely not in my good books right now..... JIM!

Lol, my CrewChief (also Jim) had done the calculation right actually. But you need to help him by running practice with a relatively close amount of fuel to what the race will require, otherwise, the fuel weight is not taken into account. I ran in practice with 75 litres and CrewChief was calculating 6.98 litres per lap and assuming top runners would do 3:26 average (optimistically), they would do 17.47 laps, so 18 x 6.98 = 125.64... I was also doubting myself and my crewchief and thus I asked. Ended up adding another 10 for safety. At the end of the day, the real challenge was to survive the race... So I'd say, as long as you run in practice with a good tank of fuel, CrewChief should be in the good books.

I mean, the new UI doesn't have a countdown on it for whatever reason. Both Ted and I barely made it to the grid on time because of this. The new UI is so objectively worse than the old one and I hate that the game forces us to use it now.

I asked in practice.... and I have set it to take my maximum fuel usage to work it out. Maybe I should unclick that option if he is going to make errors.

I always set the Practice session to a Preset if available, which for this track was Preset: Testteam_Medium, so that after setting the race pwd approx 2hrs before Qualifying, the track will at least have some grip and is not reliant on human drivers rubbering it in. Qualifying and Race are always set to Naturally Progressing.

I was late for this event and had to start from the end without a warm-up.
My only goal was to get to the finish line. Without success.
Two moments in the race, and both non-competitive
First of all, when someone left the server I had a short freeze frame of the image, luckily I was on a straight line then (does anyone have such symptoms?),
secondly, driving at a fairly steady pace and very, very, very safe, I load myself in packages of straw on the chicane, late in reaction as if someone suddenly shortened my way, as if to cut a few frames from a film, but that's probably tiredness.

I will not give up, I will try next time

    Congratulations to the winner

Well, I didn't die in yesterday's race... That was objective met.
18 survival laps with the criminal F1 Eve at Belgium in a race with more DNFs than cars crossing the line in the last lap... So don't expect fights on the video I leave here as customary..., just getting the bloody thing safely back home.
Congratulations again to @Mac Shepherd for her maiden victory at SRO. Tremendous pace. Full of confidence. Good team work with @Ted Hough and, I guess, a pretty effective setup. But mostly, terrific driving performance. Hats off!
Congrats to @Edward Jones on completing the podium... We thought it was Neil at the end of the race...
Sorry for @Caitlin Penny and her constant problems with rF2. What else can you do to get rid of those issues Caitlin?
And thanks to @Ken Jagger for putting this together. BTW, How was Eau Rouge in L1? Did the new approach work? Would it be the right one for the next F3 race?
The good thing is that we all survived yesterday, safely in our simracing cockpits. This makes me think about the real F1 drivers (Jacky Steward and co) of those days... What substance were they made of!?

I have similar freezes when someone retires and the message is shown in the display.

In rF2 the rule should be not to leave the server until the end of the race. These freezes happen too often when drivers disconnect...

I don't know but I wish someone did know. It told me I didn't have some content, but I had all the content I knew I needed. :(

Maybe try verifying the integrity of rFactor 2? :)

Re-downloads and fixes any missing files. Might fix some problems with your game without requiring a re-install.

Right click on rF2 > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity

I was getting them all race, and little screen stutters. My poor 1070Ti rig can barely run my rift CV-1 in rfactor 2 and I'm constantly terrified of crashing and getting mini-freezes in the middle of corners. I've gotten to the point I predict them and can somewhat drive around them but they're for sure race-ending sometimes. The stability of this game is weird.

Assetto corsa's framerate and stability are so much better for me even with a crap-ton of shader mods and high graphics settings. I have no idea what's wrong with my rFactor2 but it's rough.

I'm running a GTX960 on a i5 4400 on a 2560x1080 resulation on a 3440x1440 ultrawide screen on medium settings... (And no new hardware on stock due to Covid and bitmining). This track/vechicle combo still gives some frame rates but all in all at this point it is still not too bad on my system.

That's interesting, my i7 8770k/Ti 1070 build chugs along with Shadows off, most detail settings on medium etc. etc. It could be because I was streaming the race, but I consistently get freeze-frames/dropped frames in rFactor too seemingly no matter what I do. It's extremely frustrating.

Don't quote me but my belief is that rF2 is not a multi-threaded application, so multiple cores are not used. Running live streaming a simultaneously is unlikely to help any. AC is a much newer application and modern game engine than that used by rF2, which is based on a very old (by now) game engine. That is enough to not be able to draw comparisons between the two.

I read that in some of S397 roadmaps or on the forum that they are going to use or are already changing software on different threads so they are certainly doing something with muliple threads or cores. (I do not know if that is already the case with the current release). Also streaming in parallel costs game performance I read or saw on youtube somewhere.

I use an i7 6700 with a 1080Ti and you can see the performance I get here.

Our graphics settings look roughly similar but you're getting a much, much smoother frame rate than I am and aren't getting the drops I do.

I wonder if I'm not having an overheating issue or didn't do something majorly wrong with my settings somehow, huh.
