Registration ! Round 2 Laguna Seca ! Round 2 finds us in the lower foot hills of Northern California . This tight, challenging track has hosted some of the most iconic racing on this side of the pond . Sixty years ago, in 1957, the motor racing landscape forever changed. That's when the first sports car race was held here at the new Laguna Seca Raceway. The beginnings of now-named Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is traced back to the Pebble Beach Road Races that began in 1950. And by 1956, this popular race had swelled to more than 50,000 spectators crowding the tree-lined forest . You don't want to miss this one ! LIVE BROADCAST ! (Hosted by our own Eike Sky !) SHORT FORMATION LAP 30 MIN SPRINT TO THE CHECKERED ! It's worth mention that round one's lap one start was very clean ! Thank you to everyone for that ! & pat yourselves on the back ! The "ZERO Contact" is again in effect al Laguna ! We will need to be on our toes for this one as Laguna seca's famous 'cork screw hairpin' is only one of challenges ahead for round 2 !
Hi I’ve got some bad news (( A family member is having to isolate due to covid, which means I’m having to stay at another family members house (my pc is at one house which I can’t get into atm). The test result will be back tommorow so I’ll keep you updated but I jusy wanted to let you know that if I miss Tuesdays race it will be because of that :’)
That was an epice race. 0.2 seperated 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Great respect between the 3 front drivers for fair clean racing.
Good morning SRO !! First a BIG BIG congrats to all three podium players What a race you 3 had When I was in the race didn´t know , had my own problem with the track Looked at Eike´s brilliant/awesome broadcast yesterday . Also a big thank you admins for all the fun In both practice and qual there was really fast lap times. Race was ok, apart from a little misstake at the Fword Cork screw but it pay´d off not give in. Had a dare devil move when Selvi lost he´s batterd Camaro up at the hill just put the throttle on close my eyes aaand ,yes he missed me by a "daily mirror" approx . See you
I only have one adjective, a horrible evening for me reviewing my replay, I don't think I got my starting position wrong, but so the system says. Subsequently I miscalculated the laps available to me to serve the penalty, and I was disqualified. I congratulate the first 3 classified, I followed the live broadcast on youtube a great match, fought but in a fair way. Until next time
Quiet race for me after I lost @Tim Muttram's tail early in the race. It would have been challenging reconnecting with them anyways but the gap (and pace of the top 3) became unmanageable after making contact with @Taner Selvi as he was rejoining the track (I thought he was coming in control as per his speed but he might have been in the latest stages of the spin back in the track). I was a bit annoyed with my CrewChief's early remark that fuel was low as I thought, and indeed I had done, my calculations correctly. Must be an ACC quirk. Happy with my final P4: a mix of luck due to the problems in front but also a relatively good pace and adaptation to the car. I feel both the Aston and the Alpine responded much more effectively to my setup changes than my struggles with the Porsche Cayman GT4 in AC... Still, more practice time would help a lot... Leaving the video of the race from my angle here:
the race was a shambles for me....i got punted (really slowly i might add) into turn one..i think it was a racing incident cause the driver saw a gap and went for it..maybe its protestable but i dont wanna cause an issue since i had no FFB. so ye, got punted into t1, then had no FFB and had to retire..to any admins wondering why i ESC in the race.. NO FFB i posted it in the ACC chat (you can check the broadcast for proof) hoping zolders better and i can repeate some of the magic of brands! (maybe battle that Ginetta again )
quite a disaster for me. A busy day bracketed by two other races monday and wednesday that are 20minutes long meant my frazzled brain did a fuel calc for a 20min sprint instead of half hour Quite a shame as was really enjoying the spritely Alpine around this track. Qually was fun with times being traded constantly in the top 10. I squeezed a 31:7? out of the car for 5th. Race was going to be tough from the off, alongside Simons Aston on the grid with Jos in another Alpine behind. Got a good start and held my place down to T1, had to make the usual hasty decision of choosing which line to take, saw Tims Alpine on the outside and thought 'thats the safe car to follow through' only for him to fall off wide and block my momentum allowing Jos a completely free pass on me - glad im not a gambling man Then had a great chase of Jos thinking it would last all race, putting him under presure. But after a few laps Vasillis Aston decided to take a big bite out of me in T1 and span me around This allowed Bjorns? Aston past so now i was even further back and in a battle with two quick Astons. A few laps after that i missed my brake marker at T1 and ran deep allowing Vasilli back past me...D'oh!. This was made worse by me being much later on the brakes in the nimble Alpine in nearly every corner whilst he then powered off down the straights each time so i was getting a tad frustrated especially as he started warping all over the place for a few laps. i was convinved he'd Disco' at any moment but it never did. Then i got the dreaded low fuel warning with 8 minutes remaining and only 1.95L of fuel left The mental anguish was enough to distract me into an oversteer spin at the entry to the hill and with no fuel left i had to retire. Bummer, thats two rounds, two issues, with a puncture in round 1 and fuel in round 2. Still, what a joy that Alpine is, very nimble and lively and the racing was great upto the issues. Jumped onboard Tims car for last 5 mins and enjoyed his fight with the Astons but he succumbed to the sand as well, so not just me then
Great post, Mark. I was also expecting the then "Alpine on my back" (had touched some key and lost the leaderboard so no idea who was around) to deliver some fun and pressure throughout the race. I'm sure we would have had a good fight. Saw the punt you suffered on the replay... You are suffering from very real life racing problems... Punctures, fuel issues... LOL ACC is becoming the most realistic sim to date
I will do a further informative post a bit later because i am at work now and i dont have plenty of time.. I just want to send my apologizes to Mark for the T1 incident.. Was not my 100% fault and i will explain why.. I realize it after the race and when Taner Selvi told mo too, i had an internet lag.. The lag was mine for sure but until then i thought that was not me that had the lag. What i mean.. I chased Mark to pass him and before the T1 i saw him opened his racing line and i decided to late the braking a bit going for the gap. But.. The fact was that Mark didnt opened his line, was my sh@@@ty lag that maked the car looked like this, was moving erratic once to the left, once to the right. All suddenly after my brake i saw Marks car just right next to me and because of my late braking my racing line opened too, so i must hit-punted him hardly.. The funny fact was that i didnt even realize what the f@@k just did and i even didnt see Mark later after the the race to talk to him and apologize for the incident. Later as i said, Taner told me that i had a freaking lag, he was seeing my car going over and there and it was very difficult for him to pass me.. As i said it was not my 100% fault - at least in terms of driving - but obviously it was an incident that ruined Marks race.. I am very very sorry about this, really and i am sending my apologize to Mark once again.. I really dont know what happened with my internet speed, when i joined the server my ping was at 66 and until the incident i didnt have any problems.. Is there a race replay of the incident so i can see what really happened?
no problem Vasilis, thanks for the apology I didnt see your car lag earlier in the race but you were behind me so wouldnt have noticed. But once you were directly in front of me it was pretty terrible with your car doing huge crazy warps in the corners or sometimes completely disapearing then re-appearing right in front of me When it got bad i had to drop back about a second to avoid having my own crash. Then it seemed to settle for a while but i had to retire anyway.
Seems my car jumped out from a horror movie.. A ghost car or something.. Maybe i have to investigate the fact that my car is haunted or participatied to a Philadelphia's experiment or something.. lol I am joking of course i am trying to see my problem from a funny point of view...
Before a while i watched Jo's spectacular replay of his race, it seems clearly that the incident was a f@@@ing disaster for Mark.. What can i say...
You may add the fact that he is suffering from supernatural haunted cars like mine also.. I am just trying to be funny
Hi Joel - apologies that was me into turn 1. Checking the replay, I was on your inside at the start of that turn and it looks from my view like you turned in expecting me to not be there . I was expecting you to take a wider line around and give me racing room as I had nowhere else to go. Unfortunate incident and shame to break the no contact lap 1 rule. Had another spin at the cork screw when my front tyres went off and met Rob who had the same problem but he was facing the other way Sorry for getting in your way there Rob on rejoining Apart from that incident free and loved the McLaren at the start with tons of grip but I had none after 1/2 the race and it was an understeering mess. Held off a few behind for a while but not fun at the end. Change of car needed for next time. Audi is my favourite so far. That Aston looks fast
Thanks for the apologiy but in a way im glad you did since as i said before i had no FFb i think my fav has to be the porsche, i drove it in a chill race at sazuka and my god it was so responsive! it almost felt like a GT3 car!
