It was already better at Road America, but this time it was really good.
No stuttering cars warping all over the place or sudden car pop-ups and disappearing again; not even cars halfway sinking through the tarmac. So yes, a great improvement. Thanks for the effort. :)

Read the rules again.... they were doing nothing wrong. They were on the racing line, not weaving about. It is the responsibility of the car behind to make a safe and clean pass. Plenty of straights to get passed slower cars here... what is the excuse? Draft up on the straight and pass on the inside.

Performance seems better with cars was more or less lag free and no warping, a few ghost flashes on the back straight. However, it was "only" 25 drivers (and a few early drops) that have been the sweet (max) spot before as well. Not until there is +30 drivers on track one could make any conclusion it's better or at least good enough.

Congrats Jiri Vyslouzil and Michele Rizzoli. Good racing.

My lazy ass has been having trouble as of late geting practice in for any races but I've been having more fun because I'm more patient? I don't know. Top 5 and I'm happy. The thing I knew for sure, people were going to have trouble staying in the lines and not getting penalized. Percentage wise, I qualified high so I had more to loose if I was penalized so driving slower and staying in the lines was a must if I wanted to finish high. Stayed behind Andrea Ricci and did not put up a fight even if I had the slipstream. I wanted us to get away from the rear pack haha. I wanted a clean race!

Dirty air was as real as it gets. If I would get close to Andrea and he would turn, my car would start doing the death wobble. Learned fast and made sure I was next to no one in through Eau Rouge every single time.

Noticed Andrea had trouble towards the end and I jumped him when he did his drive through. He was about 5 seconds back and could see him sliding around in my rear view. Keep sliding like that, eventually you'll cross the track line. He also has to deal with the dirty air. So I waited patiently lap after lap after lap watching his beautiful slides until bam, I could feel he had laid off and knew right there and then, the dreaded drive through had got him. By this time Michele was long gone. This guy was in an another category haha. Good for him.

I think GT's need to lean off the gas a tiny bit when possible to let the faster car by. It sometimes took me over a quarter of the track just to pass. Sorry, it should not take a driver this long to get a clean pass with a blue flag if you see him literally behind you. Even sticking my nose down a beginning straight, I just couldn't get by.
I think DPI's need to be more patient and not stick their nose anywhere when a GT is close to an apex. You have to understand that the GT needs that line to start turning or he's fu@*&#. If the DPI sticks his nose in and then says, "well, I was beside him", umm no, no you weren't.
This of course is what I think so it doesn't matter. What I do know is, it happens in real life so it's going to happen here. :)

    Anyway! I had a blast.

I'll see everyone at the next event!

    Johnny,

Disagree, the less the GT3's alter their pace, the easier it is to gain reasonable knowledge of when the DPI's can pass. I know I made a couple of late moves that I didn't repeat again because the GT3's were reliable in their driving. Being behind for a quarter of a lap isn't bad, the entire of the lower section of Spa is impossible to pass, and really shouldn't have been attempted. As you've said, the DPi's that are committing late dives need to learn patience. I'll say it a thousand times, and I'll say it as a DPi driver.
GT3 drivers: Please stick to your lines, do not alter them for the DPi's. We have more horsepower, downforce and mechanical grip than you. If we take you out, file a stewards report. It is their responsibility to get to the next corner first. Only if they are alongside should you adapt your line.
Kyalami is going to be a difficult track for the split class. The only safe passing place is the start/finish straight which has a kink in it! We all need to be reading from the same hymn sheet as far as what is expected.

Sorry no discussion here. Guy is under blue flag, almost make class leader do a track cut and than side by side not letting him go is just stupid no matter what any rules say. No more comments needed.

Put it into a different scenario - The guy see's the Blue Flag and panics. Lifts off the gas and swerves off his usual line (Which is what you are suggesting).
The DPi driver behind is expecting the GT3 to follow SRO Rules and stick to his line and speed and BE PREDICTABLE. So he goes for an off line pass, only now the GT3 having seen the blue flags is infront of him and slowing.

This will lead to a serious accident and a really salty DPi Driver. SRO Rules are there for a reason.

SLOW CARS can/should stay on their ideal line
FAST CARS overtake slower cars by leaving the ideal line
All passes must be clean. It is the FASTER car’s responsibility to make a clean pass, and not force the car being passed to make an adjustment.

GT3 isn't problem. This is same class, I haven't more power than his car.

Dude.. it was DPI vs DPI.. no GT3. Why it's so confusing here? Jirka posted video. That is what we talk about. What do you talk about ??

My apologies, I thought everyone was still referring to the Audi GT3 vs DPi on the run to Eu Rouge.
Either way, same class or not, the Rules are clear. if we start mixing ideas, we will have accidents.

IMO, anyone trying to pass in the Eau Rogue is CrAzY!!!!!
If there is a blue flag involved, it has to get done before or after. If it was the leader I would lift.

If same class, the driver under blue should help the overtaking driver to pass or get penalized, this is not the case in multi-class, that's clear in the rules:
    https://simracingonline.co.uk/threads/sim-racing-online-racing-rules-and-regulations.126/#post-842

When you have to "race" a blue flag driver (in same class) to overtake them, that's when "situations" happens and has little to do with multi-class overtaking.

Read that section again please, there is no mention of "class" that I can see.

  18. Jens Roos

    Jens Roos Pro Driver

Exactly, that's why there are different rules for multi-class and not the same as when you lap a car in the same class, it's two different scenarios.
Ovals have different rule set for blue flag as well, otherwise that would be very strange behavior on track.

OK, if there are different rules for multi-class, provide that link, not the one you did.
I really don't know how you can have a blue flag rule for the cars in your class, and then ignore the same blue flag rule for cars out of your class. Some cars you can't tell which class they are in in the rear view mirror.

Championship specific rules do apply, but sure, an quick browse in this specific one I did not find any admin mention it specific but it might be there anyway.
In this case the speed difference it quite big, so it should not be to hard notice if the car behind is LMP/DPI.

So maybe @John vd Geest can confirm if SRO normal blue flag rules are used: drivers can get penalties ignoring blue flag regardless of class
or drivers can only get penalties for ignoring blue flag for the same class.

If driver can get penalties, the driver to be overtaken should assist this as well.
