    Welcome to round 4 Kyalami 2020 - Registration

    Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit (from Khaya lami, My home in Zulu) is a motor racing circuit located in Midrand, Gauteng province, South Africa. The circuit has been used for Grand Prix and Formula One races and has hosted the South African Grand Prix many times.

    Among the Formula One races held at the track the 1977 South African Grand Prix stands out, as it is principally remembered for the fatal accident that claimed the lives of race marshal Frederick Jansen van Vuuren and driver Tom Pryce. In recent years, the area surrounding the circuit has developed into a residential and commercial suburb of Johannesburg.

    More recently, Kyalami has played host to five rounds of the Superbike World Championship from 1998 to 2002 and later in 2009 and 2010, the season finale of the Superstars Series in 2009 and 2010, and the South African round of the 2008–09 A1 Grand Prix season.

    International racing returned to the circuit in November 2019, when it hosted the 2019 Kyalami 9 Hours, serving as the season finale of the 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge. It is scheduled to host the inaugural 6 Hours of Kyalami on 6 February 2021, as part of the 2020-21 FIA World Endurance Championship.

    Hi guys

    I do not 100% confirm my presence in this race :(.
    I was heavily operated on my arm, he's immobilized! I'm trying to drive with one hand, to make these last races, because I would be very sorry to leave the series!

    My difficulty will be to do all 90 minutes, now I do some tests, if I see that I can but I can be a danger for the other riders I will be forced to abandon! ...this is the most important thing!

    Andrea! Please please don't put yourself at risk for a race. You've seen the state of marc marquez' 2020 with injury. Don't be another example. There will be a thousand more series you can enter, just focus on getting fully fit before you get behind the wheel again :)

    The next race in this series is not until 7th March. It depends on what other races we have scheduled as to whether a server is available. Normal SRO practice is to have a server up and running 3-4 days minimum ahead of the race.

    I'm changing the subject slightly but I find this track interesting.

    Most tracks that have been modernised or rebuilt tend to have some of the DNA of the previous version (Silverstone and Hockenheim for example) but this track is completely different.

    Driving round I'm trying to figure out any parts that have been reused but I don't think there's any! lol :)

    Great track though and this version of it is really nice, lots of detail and looks really good, nice choice.

    It must of felt very "technical" in an F1 car though (last Grand Prix was '93 I think), perhaps a little too stop and start for them.

    Just need to inform for this race I can't make it. I have had the GC fry on me so I am down to 1 screen running off an old 670.

    I have not done any testing or practice for this race so I will have to withdraw for now.

    Hopefully I can get this tuned and practiced on enough to join for the remaining races.

    lol, every time I improve in the Mazda someone goes another second faster (I'm looking at you Mr @John vd Geest !)

    I was third on the practise server for a whole 24 hours! :)

    Oh well, I'm looking ok so far so if I get a top five I'll be happy with that at the moment.

    I need some help, because I can't connect to the server... The message returned to me is as follows: "Error trying to install MOD. Try manual installation. Please try returning to the main menu, or restarting the game"
    Any suggestions?

    You need to check that you have all the mods required from the cars and track column on the right side of the event page first.

    Next if it is still giving the error, you need to run the Mod manager as per this post

    If all the red mods are removed and still get the error there is another race set mod in that list that is causing conflict. Normally ones like ARL.... or VISC.... or SRO.

    Go to ..\STEAM\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Bin64 and run the ModMgr.exe program.

    Highlight (single click) any "mod" files beginning with SRO, uninstall and delete them, then try joining the server again.

    I found the solution to run today! :):):)

    I can change gears with a two-position button on the steering wheel ... so I can safely use one hand! :cool:
