    Some History:

The Spa 24 Hours was conceived by Jules de Their and Henri Langlois Van Ophem just one year after the inaugural 24 Hours of Le Mans was run. It debuted in 1924 over a 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) circuit on public roads between the towns of Francorchamps, Malmedy and Stavelot, under the auspices of the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium (RACB). The present 7.004 kilometres (4.352 mi) circuit was inaugurated in 1979 with only slight variations since then.
The Spa 24 Hours was part of the European Touring Car Championship from 1966 to 1973, again in 1976 and from 1982 to 1988 (with the exception of 1987 when it was part of the inaugural World Touring Car Championship). The event also counted towards the World Sportscar Championship in 1953 and the World Endurance Championship in 1981. As on the Nürburgring, both a 24h and a 1000 km race is held at Spa, as the 1000 km Spa for sports car racing were introduced in 1966.

Some slight changes for round 4 !
quall has been extended to 15 min
Weather randomness is cranked up to 3
(so we might see some rain ?:D)

Heads up ! I was just on the server and it appears that kunos has moved the default pit box's at Spa to the lower section ! This means we are now closer to pit out .. Pit in is still the same & we must drive the exact same distance when pitting as before only now your pit box is around T1 on the downhill ! (at least for me it was:D)

Just me then that isnt looking forward to this. Hope you have better luck than me in driving the Aston than me, I've had to change the setup alot more but still doesnt feel it will last 45mins for a stint. Further practise needed beforehand. I know a kurb is going to bite me during the race!

The Aston gets cained at Spa like it does at Monza. For some reason it lacks outright speed compared to most of the other GT3's. I was consistently outpaced on the straights last season but would then gain in some of the corners. Did mean i still enjoyed some great fights but it was frustrating when they just pull away from you on the next straight. Interesting that even the aggressive setup runs an 8 wing too o_O Still, if it rains you might be thankful for the extra planted-ness :p

It has alot of aero, but quite long gearing. Monza wasnt too bad as you run very low drag so the gearing isnt too bad but at Spa it has a terrible top speed. Doing mid 22s to mid 23's on a long run but i have no consistency here. I've gone everyway on the setup, the stiff front damper settings work on a single lap but not for longer and with fuel. Done a few laps on a differrent version so hopeful but not sure on a longer run.

Would be interesting to know what the lift/ drag figures are, like in AC to know the impact of changin the wing or rear rideheight

I don't yet have such experience with the Vantage or even ACC, but i did struggle to find a sweet spot on Spa. The "base" setup i used in kyalami wich felt perfect, does not work like expected on Spa, and i've messed with most settings on extreme opposites only to find little to none changes in the driving, like rear wing 2 Vs rear wing 8 and i would still time in the same sec. window. I wonder what means and if/how it actually has any effect on cars behaviour, that small text line in the end of the setup file: "trackBopType": 29
One thing's for sure, it's not there for mistake o_O
But anyhow, dry or wet, let's hope we all can have some fun race at the mighty Spa!! Best of luck you all :)

Nice race guys, looks like we had a 4-5 guys on similar pace up front.

Kristow drove well up front, but my tyres were melting at 28.5 half way into the stint, I had zero grip. Also made a major mistake almost walling it early on which didn't help.

2nd stint I dropped the pressures 4 clicks and they were much better over a longer stint. Had to go 70% throttle on the last two laps as I finished with 1L! This damn game, last night I did a 20min run to work out fuel for the race and it was 3.94 a lap, today in practice it was 4.34 and in the race 4.64, in the pits I figured another 10L should do it but that wasn't enough either...

    Anyway good racing, congrats Selvi.

Well, seemed a much better race start from my perspective, but i'll wait for the replay to check it. My gratitude in advance to everyone for not having bumped me off :)
Had a good start, got away keeping close to the top 5 "group" somewhere around 10 secs behind P1, all going well until... total blackout from the VR... about 7 secs blindfolded, i just stood still and wait for it to comeback, 2 pos lost...bahhh. It's getting worse and i don't know what else to do. I had a first blackout mid qualify lap, and a good one that i could not repeat. But i thought "ok, it already hapened so i'm safe". NOT! Unfortunately it hapened again in the race in 1st stint and for 2x in the 2ns stint i lost the sensor and thought "ok, game over" but somehow it kept coming back, so i kept driving (not racing, meh).
Was alone most of the time som kind of a long boring race to me, despite being my loved Spa
About the car... i don't understand how or why but the car was consistenly 5-6 K/h below regular speed. I've made a few test races both with AI and public servers at very similar conditions to the server and i was hitting +260k/h many places, but yesterday it NEVER hapend. Car felt dragging..i mean, i would exit eau rouge at 240 and at the end of the long straight máx at 258.. but just before in the afternoon i would go from 245 to 263 easy. This on race setup also of course. So i really don't know what hapened yesterday. I had no scratches at all, car was fine, tyre temps were fine, handling was fine.. it just wouldn't get to speed.
Anyhow, survived till the end so, Wooohoooo!!!
Congrats to the podium, and please bring us that replay file, thank you :)

Could it be a map setting for lack of top speed?

@David Plummer You mean the ECU setting? I've always used it on 1. Also checked if i was running the right setup, yep. I'm positive if i go on track now with the exact same setup/conditions i will roll 5-6 k/h above yesterday top speeds. My best practice lap was 2:19.0xx and a stable 2:20.low on race pace, but yesterday i think my best was 2:21.mid.
Gas pedal isn't bad calibrated, also checked that. I dunno.. but someone else was chating about something similar by the end of the race, so... let's see others reports. Thanks for the interest thou ;)

Like Carlos I was completely disallusioned with the pace of my Aston last night. I don’t get it, I could do 21’s in pre race practice with race fuel load within 3 laps and car was consuming 3.4L per lap. In the race I struggled to get the car into the 22’s with most laps in low 23’s and it used 3.56 to 3.59L per lap :( very odd. At race start I was left for dead by the 8 or 9 cars ahead of me like I was running twice their fuel load o_O
And about that race start, I’d like Admin to look at it and insist on people starting in their qually position. For 2nd race running I had a car blatantly start ahead of me before the green light. That would be an instant drive thru penalty in RL. Yes Simon looking at you. Just because the widget strangely allows you to do it, you still qualified behind me yet made no attempt to stay behind. All the way from La Source you were a car length ahead on my left  I could only stay behind the car in front of me as you are supposed too! But no idea why you had a gap to be allowed to do that? Was the green/white Aston on wrong side?

Like Carlos I had a long boring race on my own in 8th for most of it. I could see two guys ahead but never got within 5-6 seconds the whole race. Only car I passed was Bjorn after putting some pressure on him early on. :(
Had a straightforward pit stop but strangely emerged even further away from two cars ahead.
Next came the most stupid part of the race thanks to one selfish driver. I closed rapidly on two backmarkers. I was 8th they were 16th and 17th a lap down. Despite me closing right up behind a Ferrari glued to his bumper for a lap he refused to move over and held me up in every corner getting blue flags the whole time. So then I hit the headlight flasher and still wouldn’t budge. Got past him finally on the run upto Blanchimont. A few seconds later I’m turning in normally into bus stop only to get t-boned by the same muppet attempting a dive bomb from god knows how far back  What an idiot. We both got slammed into the off field in a spinning mess and I lost 8-10 seconds to another car behind me and Now had aero damage  M Veight behave or bog off elsewhere. I don’t want to waste 2hrs on a race. You also took out another front runner late on.
Had no chance to regain my 8th place and finished a dull 9th :(
Love Spa but that was boring for me sadly.
