Good Morning, Good Afternoon or Good Evening from wherever you are in the world. While I wish this was a positive and encouraging post, or news that my commentary will be coming back, I'm afraid that won't be the case. For those not aware, I've had some kind of catastrophic failure in my PC, meaning that it doesn't boot. I'm not sure what the problem is at the moment, but I have zero expendable income to be able to replace any parts. On advisement from a colleague from another sim racing forum, I've made a paypal pool should anyone feel they can assist towards the costs of replacing... Well, I'm going to start with the power supply and go from there. Any help is massively appreciated, and the sooner I can be back behind the mic, the better as far as I'm concerned. I miss broadcasting the SRO events massively as the standard of racing is so high, and the sooner I can be back with you, the better. Warm Regards Eike Pool Link: https://paypal.me/pools/c/8xeY96tG9D
You're a scholar and a gent John, and @Rob Milliken is a madman! Thank you both. With those, I've already been able to start diagnosing! Thank you so much.
YW! Also, you mentioned you had gotten a PSU but it failed. The same thing happened to me once, one thing I found when replacing hardware as far as PSU's go you MUST use the cables that ship with the PSU. I blew one up and ordered a new one, once it got here I simply put it in the pc using the cables that were already in. Hit the power button & nothing no power at all. hmm , It took me a few head scratches but then I started looking at the cables that came in the box with the new one and noticed all the plugs were the same and would fit in the slots & all but the wiring was different, meaning some had blank pinholes where the others had active pinholes in the same slots .. so I swapped them all out for the new cables and she fired right up! Anyway best of luck getting her back up & running!~ & let me know if you can find a newer GPU that's in stock. I have been trying to get a 3080 or even the new 3060 that nivida claimed would be just for gamers by throttling the hash count by 50% to deter the cryptos, but it did not stop them, even throttled (nothing that would affect gaming ) they are still powerful enough to do the mining thus they were all gone on launch day last week & ZERO in stock anywhere here in the US .. same with the new AMD cards .. crypto junkies have bought them all up
