An interesting race overall, seeing as we didn't run under rF2 oval rules and dispensed with the Yellow Flag pace car laps for any incidents. I had some good racing with Bjorn & Denis both challenging at sometime. The setup I created was good overall, but after several laps despite low tyre wear, the car became a tiny bit loose on the exit of the turns, so I had to try and balance that with the throttle which generally worked. Except for the couple of times it didn't and I had a spin but somehow avoided hitting the wall. All was going well into the final 5 mins for me to hold onto a 4th place finish, until I got caught up in Stephen's moment coming off T4 when he came across in front of me. I stopped for repairs because I thought I'd lost the front wing which allowed Michael to grab the place after a great comeback drive from him?
it's a funny race on sBinoval track. How much i make spins? 5? 6? I lost count Anyway, thx for the race all guys
Goodmoorning SRO ! Congrats to all podium player´s and all who survived the race to the end. And thank you to admins for all you´r effort for us all. A bit about all drop out´s. As my first Oval experience in mp, it went ok. Did pb both in practice and Qual doing 6th I think. So in race I had a slow but comfortable speed/set up doing good first 83 laps, a bit to slow the in 81/82 I could see a car from behind closing in fast but was running 2 at the time I hold on my aim was for 90 laps so lost it a tiny bit enough for some crash " Sorry Michael" should have let you go. So try to go to pit manage and on the way out I got the "speed in pit" so now the real circus began. Try get rid of it 5 times but couldn´t so the 6 attemt I put in 4 gear and just run in so I got the DQ. Ps. RF2 and I don´t have a good realtionship there ´s to many issue´s with the game that dosen´t make it enjoyable. Stutters ,freeze glitches that steal 0,2 - 1+ sec totaly random. I try a lot off things to solve it : more internet speed, more memory 64GB now go down on graphic, etc, etc and " honestly those graphic sucks" even at high end.
The race yesterday was flawless for me and very intense despite the apparent calm at times. Even if there were not many drivers, the likelihood of getting embroiled in a big accident that, without double yellows and SC, would give the advantage to those unaffected in front was big. But everyone behaved (well done all!) and, even if there were a few crashes, nothing major developed to undo the race. Started in pole after a SB time in qualy (that latter on @Denis Eshchenko improved during the warm-up!). I got a 1.7 secs advantage in the first few laps but @Caitlin Penny wasn't prepared to give up and did a terrific first stint to get on comfortably on P1. I was worried with the tyres' wear as doing more than 1 pitstop didn't look effective. After 10 laps the car was quite loose and it needed to last for another 50 or so. I decided to keep my distance with Caitlin as running too close was challenging on the turns. 1 to 1.5 secs distance looked safe and I got to think on strategies for the win. Caitlin's stopped earlier than I thought and I changed strategy, following her into pits, to mirror her as she was the one to watch at that stage in the race. We both reached the pit entry at the limit of speed. I was probably transitioning into the 80km/h limit as I was crossing the line (avoiding the dreaded Stop & Go) but Caitlin was just over it... We left pits with the same diff we entered in but Caitlin had to enter again... That was key for the rest of the race. I found myself soon running in P1 with 1 lap advantage over the rest and Caitlin just behind. She did unlapped herself (great pace and consistency Caitlin) and recovered part of the lost time but I could keep her in line of sight whilst managing the race for the race win until the end. I had a great time yesterday (thanks @Ken Jagger for organising), very intense, and a terrible pain in the neck at the end of the race!. Congrats to Caitlin for the great challenge and race and Denis for the podium. I leave the video of the race here as usual:
This was my first time doing an oval race online, enjoyed the experience just wished I could have spent more time practising for it. I only installed the track at 6:30 pm last night so managed about 15 mins practice before qualifying began. I was racing with the default setup (just trimmed off the wings). The rear of the car was getting very loose after a few laps so i just tried to stay out of peoples way and get some experience under my belt on this type of track. Hopefully we will do a few more of these races in future series.
Got a mail from my ex Karting shop today special deal for me should have got it yesterday They should have seen me steaming over here
Maybe try turning replays off if recording is enabled. It seemed to help me when I suddenly started getting similar symptoms for no explainable reason.
Hi all, Just sharing the setup I used on the race yesterday. I don't think it is particularly good but I tried to incorporate, in the limited set of options available for this car in rF2, some of the principles for oval races. It's just a starting point and I'm sure it can be heavily improved. I played a bit with it the day before yesterday and got comfortable with it. I didn't change anything for the race and I managed a 26.660 without slipstream for pole, so it cannot be awful. However, the car became also quite loose with this setup after a few laps and you can see I had some wobbles at times in the video I left on my earlier post. Anyway, hope this helps. (You need to remove the .txt extension that I had to add to be able to upload it here before you can use it in rF2). All the best, Jos PS: I understand some of you were running with the default setup. How does this compare?
Congratulations on the quick podium. Maybe I approached the race a little quickly and as a result lost the car relatively early on. Overall it was a nice race, even if it would have been a bit more exciting with the yellow flags. It's a shame that there were only 9 people at the start. In the end I am happy about my 4th place, even if it was a little happy. Greetings Michael
