Wasn't the most exciting race today but I'm glad I took part and getting that result has cheered me up a little. My dad passed on Friday and I was really debating whether to race today because my mental health has been awful this weekend. He's been a massive supporter of any racing I do and he would have wanted me to race and have fun today. This car and track is definitely one of the most difficult combinations I've ever raced with and the race was more about getting to the end than being the fastest driver. I'm still surprised that I managed to walk away with a grand slam tonight and it was definitely the biggest gap I've ever had. Congrats to @Jos Ogos on finishing and taking the championship (I think). He fully deserves it with his consistency. And who said you couldn't overtake around the outside here?
Thank you. Great to race with you all again. I had an internet speed problem and was too lazy to deal with it. Finally switched to a different service provider and so far its working okay.
Hi Maddie. Sorry to hear about your dad. I'm sure he would have enjoyed massively your outstanding performance today. Congrats on a terrific win. You are the "Queen of Belgium 66". That's it. I'm glad I finished the race. It's as much as I could aspire for today. With @Maddie Shepherd and @Gert-Jan van Osch in front and almost 2 secs faster in qualy, I knew I just needed to bring the car home with a dignified P3 if I could handle any challenge from the pack. Considering the qualy times, I was in a middle desserted area so it should be as difficult as it is to keep this car on track for 18 laps... I had a bit of contact in T1 with Peter (I think) and a slight suspension damage, kept in Gert-Jan's tail for as long as I could without taking too many risks and then moved into the boriest of all strategies... Safe lapping at 3:31 (just like clockwork) and awaiting for events in front to develop. Gert-Jan was 4secs after Maddie and keeping the distance. I thought he would have to push hard to get her and that's a bad combination with the F1 in Belgium... Masta did the dirty work and I found myself in P2 and 20 secs distance from @Ken Jagger. At some point with 15mins left in the race... there were only two cars in the race... With this results, assuming Maddie wins the last F3 race, I would only need to end on P10 to win the overall champsionship. It looks I will only need to start the race to achieve that. So happy if I get to see that outcome although Maddie's achievement with the F1 outshines everything else at Belgium 66. All the best, Jos PS: No video of such a boring race...
I'm sorry to hear about your dad Maddie. Very impressive performance. Just finishing that race is a victory. Congratulations
First of all my condolences to Maddie for the loss of her father and second of all congrats to Maddie for her great win yesterday... and of course to everyone else who made it to the finish For my perspective I a good car but it felt a bit different then in training I did a few hours ago. I still could run fast lap times but did not have the confidence to push. I had a great start but I took it easy in eau rouge and radillon to avoid carnage as in the previous race so I really slowed down there. Maddie passed and pushed like crazy... I had the strategy not to overheat the tires and Maddie quickly took a lead of 5s. I saw a lot of smoke coming of her tires and thought she was cooking them and after a few laps I also start taking some time back. In the 6th lap I went a little too aggressive on the throttle in the Masta kink and the car rotated a bit too much to the inside of the corner and I could not avoid just clippig the fence and that was it...
Can I have the points for starting, please? I completed a lap so I don't know why I'm not classified on the results page.
The results file does not show a lap time, so our processing system excludes anybody with that as not having completed a lap. Did you cross the finish line before ESC? Thats the only thing I can think of why your not showing a lap time.
It's probably because I came into the pits at the end of the first lap, but I went out again and did at least another sector.
By the way, is there any update on how the scoring will work? Are the results from each class going to be added together manually?
Yes I intend to do that and in addition to a class winner have an overall, unofficial series winner which will encompass all races in all classes.
