Finally! lol Always being marked as unread, yet there was nothing here!

There are cars that could go on fuel all the way? 15min difference doesnt sound a lot compared to the 90min races. I'll still be stopping for fuel and tyres

Like you say there will be cars that can make that on a tank of fuel possibly all of them. If you stop you will never make up the 60 seconds or more you lose in the pit so stopping is out of the question. Personally I think the mandatory pit stops add a massive dimension to the game as does variable weather. Not a fan of the full formation laps. Was soo boring doing a formation lap at spa and doesn’t help to warm tyres. Anyway, it is what it is. Hope to see lots of drivers competing. I will be continuing in the Aston as I’ve only just started using it so it’s new to me and I like it.

Thanks Rob. If I raced season 1 in one car, can I race other seasons in different cars ?

Yes, you may choose a new car for round 2 but the same rule applies. You must use that car for all 6 events. You are allowed 1 car change but you must have a good reason and be approved.

Ah, interesting. I would love to pick the Audi but i dont think my arms would cope with rather heavy FFB it has by default! I think i've already strained my shoulder becuase of it as i tend to pick it more often than not online.

i enjoyed how it shuffled the cars around

Depends on the car & fuel mix , the idea was , to force a strategy, ya you can make it but you will need to save fuel or plan a 1 stopper and go flat out .. I thought 75 min was on the borderline of full tank fuel milage?

If we do add a mandatory stop& we still can if that’s what everyone wants, but then i would use the pit windo to force the stops within a 20 min window in the middle.
tell me, can all cars go 75 min no prob? If so we can make the stops mandatory... ideas?

Hi there! As an experienced 'idiot' :D i'll be happy to share a quick thought. 75min sounds a bit awkward to me and it means some will start race very heavy and others not, wich most certainly will cause many  moments on the first laps due to the diff strategies.
There are 6 races... i would go 3x60min no pit stop + 3x90min mandatory stop. There is still room for some strategy, but i guess would even a bit more the grids.
    Just my 2 cents...
BTW i'm considering the Lambo, the GTR or the 488 for S2... they're ALL so gorgeous!!

i am also for a mandatory stop. It just adds that extra element to a GT race rather than a sprint from lights to flag like the shorter races. That or stretch the race length a tad so even the more efficient cars cant make the distance...if any can? I always like the stops in longer races as you never know where you will re-pop out in the grid and who's done what strategy, ie fuel and tyres or just splash and dash fuel whatever.

I was using 100 litres per hour in the Spa race (approximately) in the Aston. The tank is 120 litres, so it's on the cusp as that would be about 125 litres at my rate, but i was probably under 100 litres per hour in reality. The full formation lap will take a little bit out, but not much if you are careful. 90 minutes would make certain and 45 minute stints seems like a nice length. Of course some depends on track. I suspect Spa would use more fuel with all the long straights, so you'd probably find 120 litres would get you to the end of most normal circuits.

Ok so do we use a mandatory tire change then or just force a stop where you can take what you need like gas only?

If I use this line in the cfg set to false you should be able to do a splash & dash = "isRefuellingTimeFixed": false, If set to true maks the stop 30 sec's for everyone.
The mandatory tire change also makes the stop 30 sec's.

You could always run at least one big rain shower in each race to force a pit stop or 2 ;-)

If you're talking about 75 minute races still, then no one will take tyres (it just isn't worth the extra pit stop time) so if you want people to take tyres it will have to be mandatory unless you increase the tyre wear multiplier (which might be interesting).

This is why I set it for no pit stops .......
No tire ware multiplier in ACC server cfg yet .
    & I don't want to force a tire change in a 75 min race ..
Also, the weather widget is all messed up since they "fixed it" I tried to have rain in several events with randomness at 4 and = zero rain o_O Before 'the fix' between 2 & 3 worked great for some showers.

Can you do an in-game mandatory stop without mandating tyre change?

75 minutes is no mans land to be honest, it's a bit long to be called sprint (for sim-racers) and not long enough to be called endurance (for sim-racers). I prefer endurance racing as the strategic element adds so much to the whole event imho. If I had a vote then I would ask for 90-120minute races, then the pit stops are up to the driver.

Do they force you to change tyres in each pit stop in the real Blancpain or British GT series?

Shame you don't have the option to force using 2 different compounds as that would be interesting too.

I have watched some GT3 real-life series where they force a 10 sec stop for all cars under a pit window where you don't have to take anything but must remain in the pit box for 10 seconds. Some change tires & get a splash & some just sit for the count.
This is series 2 and will be 75 min just like last year's..
Series 3 will then have another time format, and again a change for series 4. It's all part of the year-long challenge.
Series 2 is supposed to be a sprint-style challenge, thus the no mandatory pit stops but you may pit if needed & pits are open from green to checkered in this format.
Thats how its written up .. but seems everyone wants pit stops so ... o_O

Rob, we'll all race whatever, just people expressing preferences and opinions. Stick with 75 minutes if it's not up for debate. You are the master! :)

It will be good fun whatever. At least with 75 minute races I won't have to work out how much fuel I need I'll just stick in 120 litres every race and hope I make it to the end whilst I willing everyone else's car to run out of fuel. ;)

Hey Rob, I am fine with any Format - to try 75mins without stopping is definetly an interesting idea!
btw. I am wondering if we can get some more people for signing-up for the series ? - A 30+ field is much more fun than 15 cars finishing one race imho.
    cheers Christian
