Hi guys i wonder if someone can tell me where i am going wrong here pls? Introduced my m8 (BIG WILLIAM ...AKA Billy ) to SRO as part of our new team. We are both fairly crap but want to improve. So Billy has Assetto Corsa, Raceroom and Automobilista. We thought we would create a server in Automobilista add some AI and get some praccy in, so i created 1 and as we are connected by discord i explained to Bill the name, car etc required to join, but no matter what we try he cannot see my server in the list on Automobilista or Raceroom. We have looked it up on google and made sure all the ports are correct but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated, we have even tried the dedicated servers provided by steam for both games but no luck. Two daft Geordies needing some guidance here pls chaps, thanks in advance
RE: Automobilista and assuming you are using STEAM to run the Dedi: What ports have you opened in your router? Do you have the Matchmaker Announce box checked on the 3rd screen when starting your server?
Hi Ken, the ports he has opened are UDP34597-34598. UDP34697-34698. UDP8766. UDP27016. TCP34747-347478 and the matchmaker announce is ticked. He has downloaded the Automobilista dedicated server (20gb!!!!!) but both of us do not see his created session in the server list.
So to be clear you are using the standalone AMS Dedicated server and are not running it through \STEAM\AMS?
Erm, i might have misled u here Ken. What i mean is that it says "create server" within the game so we are using that. But there is also the dedicated server download on steam which we have also tried. Hope that makes sense?
I have never been a person who blames another person just because they make a small mistake, (especially as i make loads in sim racing)_. However, i am going to make an exception in this case and totally blame Bill for uploading the IP of his older PC into Automobilista instead of the IP of his brand new shiny PC! What a waste of about 6hrs trying to get this damn thing set up, sorry to waste your time lads, i'm looking for a new team mate already. I need another drink. (I'm kidding btw, we r best mates really! )
