As you know we have been working on revamping our user interface, improving the look&feel but also adding functionalities to try and maximize the user experience. The options menu has received a new look and structure, but also two major quality of life improvements: Search, and FOV / Triple Screen set up tools. Search & Press key to jump to binding The amount of settings and control bindings in a simulator is often overwhelmingly high. In addition to a better sorting, we have added a search tool that lets you go straight to the setting you are looking for. Another good addition is the fact you will now be able to press the button and immediately jump to that assignment. FOV and Triple Screen tools You will now be able to set those up directly from within the game, with a useful preview illustrating the changes. For a single screen setup, pick your screen size, the distance from it, the eye offset and then tweak to your liking from the calculated FOV. (I always feel those are maybe natural but too narrow to be useful. Change my mind!) For triple monitors, simply fill in their size(s), angles, distance, bezels and eye offset. If you accessed the Options menu from your car, loaded on a track, you can even enter a live calibration mode allowing you to directly see the effects of your changes, as well as freely adjust the position of your eyepoint. This new interface is already in there you need to add the command line "-webmenu" to steam. It has been necessary for setting up triples as the old method didnt work anymore. The interface is just far better anyway so have been running it since it was available.
I added the -webmenu and it installed an R3E Desktop Launcher, whatever that is and reset all my controller settings to default . I still don't know how to access that UI, as everything still looks the same for me?
I don't think that was related Ken, Might just have been a particular update that created the desktop icon which has created a new instance when you used it. When i moved my install location i realised your game folder in the 'my games' folder points at a particular location for the install folder. If it doesnt match with the game install folder it will create a new folder in 'my games' to point to it, which might be why you think it reset your controllers. I only run games from in Steam, not desktop icons though
Managed to search and find my previous "user" folder was still present and correct, so was able to recover setups & controller settings. But you actually said this which I assumed provided access to the new UI. Clearly I took it too literally. That could be it and not the -webmenu, as I migrated a lot of my Steam stuff to another HDD over the last couple of weeks.
Not sure what you mean, it does. It doesnt change all of Raceroom, but when you get to an event you will notice it.
I've now tried the -webmenu as first and last entries in the Steam Launch Options and neither shows me the screens above. Do you have to enable them in the menu's/settings somewhere?
Tried -webmenu on its own, leaving out the -webdev and Otterhud launch options and it still doesn't make any difference. Maybe it only works with VR at the moment?
I am not sure if this has anything to do with the Dev.notes There was a fairly large update lately and I think is could be defaulting some data files. Backup doesn't work to retrieve data. I always keep a screen shot of my car set ups.
