FYI: The map has a small issue. Not game braking, but can be annoying. In the pit entry, after the traffic light, there is an invisible hole in the ground on the right of the white line. When falling through the hole, the car accelerates endlessly and can't be reset to the pit. You have to alt+F4 the game. Be careful when finding your pit boxes
There is an update to v1.1 for this track which I've now amended our DL link for, however there is still a mesh hole in the middle of the pit lane. But this is where there are no pit boxes, so if you need to stop then avoid this area ether when you are entering or leaving your pitbox if it is close to this area.
Thanks to Tim Muttram for identifying there is a fix for this mesh problem. Everyone needs to DL this patch file and install the content into the ..\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\tracks\sportsland_sugo folder. The file is available here https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/sportsland-sugo-1-0-pitlane-fix.22890/
Is there anything else that needs doing Ken, as after following the above instructions, I found tonight that I disappeared down the hole?
There shouldn't be Chris. Was this at the entry or the middle of the pit lane? I tested it with the v1.1 updated track in the SRO library, so I suggest uninstalling the track and make sure you have the latest updated version from SRO, reinstall it and then copy over the patch file content.
It was in the middle of the pit Lane. I didn’t have the track originally installed and only installed it for the first time from your revised link, then downloaded the patch from your link and installed it to the correct folder?
I've retested it and completed 4 laps driving down the pit lane, straddling the lines left & right, down the centre, over both the two unmarked areas at the beginning and middle of the pit lane and not had any problems. Chris did you actually unzip and ONLY copy the 2 enclosed files to the track folder or did you just extract the zip to the track folder? You need to copy/replace these files only: models.ini sportsland_sugo_fixmesh.kn5
That might be it Ken, if I remember correctly I just unzipped them to the folder, but if they’re the same file names, wouldn’t that have overwritten them?
No because the zip has another folder within it containing the files, so they wouldn't have gone into the correct track level folder, but one lower.
Had luxury of doing few laps during day so not totally unprepared for this one. Q Hadnt tried lowfuel at all yet and figured cant beat pole but got close R Went smooth, softer tyres lasted ok, found more pace and some time still left on track..tenth here and there. Cars need to go smooth to get that time. That one righthander specially was a pain. cheers all
Good race that one. I ran the harder tyre for this one, where I usually run the softer…….then realised 3/4 of the way through the race I was running with traction control on which I don’t normally do…….wondered why my pace was a little slower than usual! Phil seemed a bit ragged on the first few laps , but tidied up up as the race went on. Shame about Ken’s issue. Overall though, thoroughly enjoyed it. Bring on Spa! well done all.
I am sorry @Jari Laakkonen , as usual I had a bad start and lost two positions, which brought me behind you. I was a bit faster, and I tried to pass you, but I recognized a few lags. That worried me a bit, because I got taken out at Goodwood under similar circumstances. And then the following happened, you lagged again in the last turn. After that I was irritated and then had to avoid hitting how. That worked, but I came on the bumpy part of the circuit and I lost momentum. So I did not try a pass or a dive bomb, I was just following you in a safe distance. And then this happened From that point I thought you out braked yourself, but because it really looked weird. I was nowhere near you in my view, but because your rear axis was in the air I had some doubts after the race. Probably in your replay I hit you, which is the same in the replay of @Franz Herbert Mann, although there was a lag too. Not sure what to do in such a case.
Really liked this track, something different than usual. I was lacking consistency. Every lap was on a different line, which resulted in weak pace and some small mistakes at the end of the race. However, I am pleased with the results. Really sorry to see that we lost a man right after the first lap. Did you have a drive-through penalty because of the jump start, @Ken Jagger ? I can confirm the statement of @Philipp Pichler . The replay showed multiple lags of either Philipp or Jari. Something was not right Link to the replay: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1awb8xf8s0vfzf1/AABrK-NJL1RTodl4h0KIYxJOa?dl=0
I did it seems, but I never got told about it by AC nor did I get any warnings at the end of the first two laps, at least none that I saw. It ultimately gave me a DQ at the end of L3. Because I race AC along with other sims, I keep forgetting that it does not let you use a manual clutch pedal controlled start, at least in the conventional way of selecting 1st gear and increasing engine revs as the lights count down. I've now checked the server options and have deselected the one which allows you to select a gear before the green light, which will prevent this happening again in future.
Of course AC let's you do that. It's the way to start if the car has a clutch. Just be sure not to move due to the track slope at the start as your clutch is depressed.
Possibly I have never driven a manual gearbox car in AC, but it still seems odd to me that all the cars with auto clutch don't have some kind of manually controlled start procedure you can use. I find it hard to believe that in RL this is the way these cars used in competition have to be started on the grid.
