Sticking with the Macca gents, tried a few other cars and just not getting much feel through the wheel and the Fezza just bores me. With no setups for anything else either Macca it will be for the season.

  3. Simon talked me into picking the Honda, so I blame him.

Disaster for me but was fun all the way :)

Quali got my banker in and then for the proper hot lap got hit with the old cut, pulled in and had to use the restroom :( Anyway, with a 10min session not enough for another proper run I think.

Slotted in behind Jeff for a while until an overtake about 2/3rds into the stint I think, opened a tiny little gap and then Jeff pits, I pit about 3 laps later...Mid way through the pits I dont know how I hit the pit limiter button on my wheel, do my pitstop, leave and get hit with a 30sec stop for speeding in the pits. Come out 5 sec ahead of Jeff but penalty pending...serve that.

From there it was just all out to see how much I can crawl back...Macca felt good today, made a slight change to the toe which made the front end feel epic, or maybe it was just placebo :(

Congrats Jeff and Simon on the team 1-2.

Jeff and I didn't decide on the Honda until earlier in the week and then despite sharing setups to start with, our driving styles are too different so we ended up needing very different things. He likes fast and loose and I like stable. Was really happy to qually only 1.1 seconds behind him as I'd been a lot slower through testing. Seemed to be about the same gap in the race so that was good too.

The Honda is not easy to get to grips with, especially as the default setups are rubbish with the car dangerously hard to control everywhere.

What a great start to the season with a 1-2, so well done Jeff on the win and roll on the next race, where I suspect the setup will need a few tweaks as Hungary is pretty different from everywhere else as I found last season in the Aston.

  8. Decided to start with 100L of fuel, in case of rain, but that was a big mistake, as the car was a lot slower first stint.
Pitted earlier than planned, because I didn't want to lose time defending from the Bentley behind me.
I stopped exactly on the mark and the car got lifted up, but then it got dropped again o_O. Is that a bug, or why did my crew drop the car, only to lift it up right after? It cost me around 3 seconds I think and in my outlap I lost more due to traffic.
Second stint with less fuel it went a bit better, but the rears on the Honda cook within a few laps. The Bentley could do a whole stint without a problem, but the Honda can barely do a few laps on tires...thanks Simon for convincing me to pick this car

I think that’s in your setup Jeff (or driving style). I didn’t have a problem with tyre cooking. They took 3 laps to get up to operating mode and then were pretty consistent for the rest of the stint. Given that you have to change tyres didn’t see much benefit in not halving fuel load for each stint as the refuelling is quick. I’ll send you my final softer setup if I remember! Left rear was hottest but pressures were very even.

  10. Could be the setup, it's a hotlap setup, just thought it would survive for at least 30 minutes, as the Bentley never had any problems with that.
Might try your setup for the next event, I won't go for the high fuel load, that's for sure. Still don't know why my crew dropped the car.

Did I not tell you that you were getting the junior crew tonight? ;)

  12. My tires would also be fine being driven a second per lap slower ;):D.
I even had overheating rears on a Monza public race, so no clue how I can fix it.

I was cursed by graphic card through last 5 laps; frozen, disconnected and crushed finally with blue screen. I am really sorry to lose 2.p which is in safe and valuable points.
    Conratulations to the podium.

Was a good race for me despite the fact i had high ping problems at the very first laps. I quali fifth and finish fifth but the great thing for me was my good consistency.
I started with 50 liters of fuel and i did my pit stop at half of race. Pit stop was good and i continued to have a good pace, running at high 45's and low 46.
Of course i could never catch the front runners, they are at another level, but generally i am quite happy with my driving.
Too bad for Taner he couldnt make it till the end, and what happened to Rogerio also? :(
I hope my high ping at early laps do not ruined someone's race, it is still a frustration for me and i have to reconsider to change my internet provider or a router, i still searching to find out where the problem is.. :(
Take care all and hope to see you at next one :)
Well done to podium finishers and to all guys of course who raced yesterday :)

Such a contrast from what happens to me , as I'm so slow my fronts were cooked & rears stay cold like ice lol ..

  16. Sounds like you are over rotating you front tires and end up graining them to hell. Increase the rotation of your physical wheel or increase steer ratio in the setup menu.

The contact on the first lap ruined the race a bit for me, but with the pace shown by others i wouldnt have made much much impression further up the leaderboard.
Hard work climbing back up from the back, i tend to then try hard to get back to where i was, so was concentrating quite hard.
