  2. This series might need some promotion, entry list is really low right now.

Ya , I think ACC is slowly reaching burnout status .....

  4. Maybe create a mailing list of people who participated in ACC before and let them know a new series has started. Maybe people didn't realise it and this gets under their radar.

i'm taking a break from racing here in ACC for a short while. To me only having a weeks break between one season and the next means they all roll into one and lose the build up/anticipation of competing in a series. So would say its more a 'burn out' of continuous series using the same tracks really.
Its sad to see the drop off in numbers.:( I'm currently competing in two iR series where they have a 120 cars signed up in GT3 o_O and near 60 in Porsche cup, so thats where i am racing at the moment as i want fuller grid racing. I really like ACC but it needs the grids and racing saturday nights is not ideal for me (for Gt3). I might make the odd GT4 round or even the full series, but need to see how the days pan out.

I tried iRacing again recently and it still feels like floating on the track and driving on ice, but the grids are good. :)
AC and ACC are still in my eyes the only games that feels like you are connected to the track.
Are you racing in a league in iR or are you doing a same time every week race?

i felt like that at first and was the main reason i didnt touch iR for 6-7yrs ! (had to get my old account reinstated as refused to pay for my content all over again). But with my DD wheel, the ffb is very good and VR and triples are both great in it, though it lacks the graphical quality of ACC, you can run it at pretty high frame rates - more cpu dependant than GPU. I only got into iR again through Porsche club GB last year as they started running a proper Porsche cup series with good grids and as i started to enjoy it more i thought i'd dip my toes into GT racing as well. Now signed up with UKiR for both P-Cup and GT leagues (sunday nights) and had mega races the last few weeks with big grids. But you do have to pay through the nose for tracks and cars, proper payware software! and you dont even own the content at end of the day  iRent
But i havent given up on ACC, just taking a break as need all my spare praccy time just to be competitive with the iR guys at the moment. I'll try and join in on GT4 tuesdays but might not make it every week.

The biggest thing with iRacing was that it was always considered a beta, with major updates, physics changes mid season and no one admitting the inherent bizarre behavior of the tyre model. Even Nicki who was a big part of it for a while got to the stage of critising it. Last time i played it was autumn 2019; the GT3's just felt broken and the ferrari GT3 fixed series was the only thing at the time where the FFB and tyres felt anywhere close to being able to drive the car with any kind of grip.

I agree the constant bi-weekly racing; having a years series was always going to burn people out. ACC with it relatively limited content, i'm kinda surprised its kept its popularity so long. I've only just got into it in the last year, yet online servers are still occasionally busy. But then is there anything new coming in short term? The 'community' that was once there in the days of RSC has now fractured to each game individually but each does something different

Humm, saw this just today.. I never raced the GT4's, I might give it a try, hoping FPS will be stable!

Do I need any kind of rating for joining? Last time I raced ACC was last time I joined here at SRO :)

Tuesday night racing will continue , just not sure of the sim ATM, unless we the people can muster up a few more drivers for ACC it might take a back seat for the last series of 2021 . Im ok if we can get at least 10 on the grid like today but I’ thinking if we only have 10 or less I would like to toss in another sim like AMS2 for a series as we have about 10 solid drivers for that sim as well so to me it worth the try to give AMS2 & its latest build with the GTE’s a shot for a series… I'm just thinking out loud here about some valid points above ..

How does AMS2 compare to ACC? Thought it was "just" pCars2 in disguise and the driving model in that really sucked.
I can do 59 car grids with the AI, but it's not quite the same, although they are bloody amazing in ACC actually considering they are just algorithms.

PC2's madness engine is what they are using & that's it.. It's nothing like PC2 driving wise & In its current state is becoming an excellent sim! worth checking out .. AMS2's roots are rFactor code moved over to the newer engine & its shaping up nicely..

I am trying every update and well, for me the physics are still quite off on the limit. The good thing is they acknowledge it and are working on fixing it. So let's hope they get it right at some point.
A few months back for instance I tried the new GT3's and it was awful, I then drove the same cars on the same track in ACC and that was soooo much better I bought all ACC DLC I was missing. Haven't played much of it though, only some special events mainly. Yesterday was the first time I raced in a long time and it felt good. I still have to get used to the McLaren, by the end of the race I was getting more comfortable with the car. The difference with Passmore in front was around the 2 seconds all race long but I made too many mistakes to close the gap, mainly under braking and almost completely lost the car a few times. But good fun. I'll try to make the other rounds too and try to improve for sure.

the GT cars in ACC are still way better than any other sim imo. The tyre model is sublime with a DD wheel. I really dont understand why iR is so overly popular in the sim racing community. Many pro drivers use it too yet other real world race drivers say they cant get their head around the poor tyre model and prefer ACC.

I've missed the 2 first rounds due to stuff and rediculous heat - But think I'll throw myself around the track for a bit for the rest of the season :)
