This race was much more enjoyable for me than the last one. The handling of the Toyota felt much better than the Mazda. But I am very surprised how good Nassim was able to and compete in the front. Even with the Toyota, I had some troubles in the S curves and a couple of off-track excursions. Hopefully the next races bring more consistency.

The start was quite something :D
With an open chat and the acceleration of the Toyota, I was able to jump a few places, and found myself in 4th. It was clear to me that I could not hold this place. So I lost positions lap by lap until I found myself behind Ken and Kimi. They seemed to have fun battling with each other, until Ken decided to cut some grass in the last sector.
With 10 minutes to go and ~15 liters left in my car, I felt confident finishing the race with enough fuel. However, with the extra off-track incidents and bad shifting, the car sucked the last drop of fuel out of the tank and I found myself in the first corner besides the track on the last lap. Kimi also suffered the same fate as in the last race. I am really sorry for you, because you showed some good pace. Guess, we both have to drive more efficiently. If we had waited 1 more minute at the start the fuel would have been enough :p
Kiril got his redemption from the last race and drove to an excellent 1st place. Congrats!

I want to note that the results show, that I finished in 10th place before Ken and Ed. However, both passed me on the last lap. You might want to review the result.

If something similar happens on the start of the race in any of the remaining races, may I suggest one of the following options:
    - Restart the session
    - Rolling start
    - Start at an agreed time

    And finally the replay: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gff9eboqknwguxv/AACPPH1isqK6uBX-gC2z7XYxa?dl=0

@Franz Herbert Mann , let me tell you each time there is a braking on that first corner , it felt like stopping a train , & i almost felt bad staying in that 1st position , cuz i was pretty much just defending as much as i could , i also had to brake way earlier as the car had horrific & terrible balance so each time the toyota behind was getting closer & closer , inevitably i got clipped from the back while defending but understandble as he was surprised by how late i was braking so no hard feelings at all .
driving that Mazda was a nightmare overall o_O haha

AC has a server setting which determines how long is allowed after the leader takes the chequered flag, of other drivers to complete their final lap. The setting for this race was 100 seconds i.e. 1m40s which is a default in our config. It can be changed, but is not usually needed for most tracks/cars. Clearly with the 2.16+ lap times here, it wasn't enough, so the race ended before Ed & I crossed the finish line, therefore we were only credited with 17 laps, rather than 18. Something else for me to consider & remember for future events.

Regarding the start I've absolutely no idea why we didn't get the starting lights and have never seen that before in AC. It definitely was not a server or configuration issue. By the time I realised that the race timer had started and we hadn't been given the green light, I reacted quickly in giving "go, go" on chat to at least enable the race to go ahead. Messing about with restarting is not ideal when people have other RL activities to take care of. However I don't object to the idea of a rolling start instead, so it might be used if we encounter the problem again, which hopefully we will not.

    As stated in post #
There still are 2 available for the remainder of the series, they just haven't been requested yet. They were removed from the server config last night to specifically avoid anybody taking Doni's car by selecting an MGA before he joined the server. The only unselected cars which would not cause problems were the Mazda & Datsun, but we already know that Mitchell didn't read the forum post and he was not registered when I set the server approx 2hrs before Qualifying started.

Didn't have the chat app on so didn't get the 'Go Go' from Ken. Went quite slowly at first because I thought it maybe a rolling start but when I saw everyone blasting off into the distance I put my foot down. Dropped from a good Q position of 4th to 8th or 9th so not ideal. Managed to get a few cars in the first couple of laps but then sat behind Csaba for the rest of the race. Couldn't make any inroads into his lead. By the end I was back where I started from 4th but it was a case of inheriting the place due to others mistakes. I initially wanted the BMW but am so glad I picked the Alfa. It's a great fun car especially here at VIR one of my favourite American tracks. These cars really flow around here.

Well done to the winner and pods :)

Thanks! First of all, well done VIR. Driving for the 1st time on that track and I liked it very much. I started the race as I saw the other cars flew by me o_O No idea what position I had after the 1st corner but I had to do some overtaking in order to close up the front runners. I was hoping for a nice battle with the 2 guys upfront... but I saw a lot of smoke in the 1st corner and there was nobody in front of me anymore. So after few laps with @Toni Talvitie on my back I found rhythm and pretty much enjoyed the track till the end. Hope I will make the next round... cheers;)

I very sorry, I totally forgot about this event.
Ken, you can give my BMW to someone else as I will be having trouble making it on weekdays.

Thanks for letting us know John. By the way, you never did select a car, never mind a BMW and actually took somebody else's at the 1st race. So there is no free BMW to re-assign.
