Learning from today, other than rf2, AC or Automobilista, PC2 does not allow joining just before the race. Respectively, you can only join as a spectator.

That is a bit frustrating... I should have stayed on the server, as I first joined. Next time, cu guys.

Yes it is disappointing to say the least, for online organisations like ours not to be able to decided if we want to allow users to enter the race after it starts . RF2 can do it so it can be coded in software, but it seems that SMS did not decide to do this with PC2. :(

I'm really sorry for you Philipp, sometimes PC2 is like this, we have to get on with its flaws.

The race had an interesting start for me, after having the same quali time as Björn down to milliseconds (!), I had to start on the second row.
Going down to p4 in the first corner, I did an incredibly risky divebomb on Chris to get 3rd place, then got up to 2nd after Björn made a slight mistake a few laps later.
From there I was 2nd all the way through, though I lost a bit of focus once and spun. Luckily I was able to get back on the track without losing a position, but from then on I felt like I could get overtaken by Björn or Aleksandar at any time.
While they battled hard for the position I was able to save my tyres and pull away slightly, getting a 2nd place finish.

Props to the people being lapped, they were incredibly generous, giving me space and even giving up opportunities for overtakes just to let me by :)

Hi, I had a panic because in the last minutes of practice, the game got stuck and I had to madly reset the system to try and get back in, PC2 has been running fine and then when it matters goes wrong.
congrats to Viktor an Bjorn on the podium positions and saw that they were closely matched and racing hard. I knew in the early laps that I had to keep consistent lap times going as one mistake or slow lap and they would be on me.
Totally agree with Viktor on lapped drivers, Its always difficult as you don't want to mess with any ones race, or accidently make contact when passing.
I did have a big scare moment about 5mins before the end of the race as I think it was Franz and Klaus made contact on the start finish straight when I was close behind, one went one way and one went the other, And I didn't know which way to go to avoid it all. luckily I made it through ok.
Thanks to Bjorn for being a gent. true sportsmanship.
Look forward to the next race and a full grid.

  10. Yep, good racing from all I thought, though I did get clobbered a couple of times, some of my own making…….and some not! I’d loaded the wrong race setup (again) and didn’t get the car settled until I’d adjusted the brake bias, but just couldn’t seem to get the same straight line speed as the rest of the Mercs no matter what, must be missing something. Grats to the podiums. I won’t be at the next race as I’ll be away on holiday, but look forward to the final race with you all.

Poor race for me, I was taken out on second lap and ended up last. Managed to get back up to 8th and kept a steady pace eventually finishing 9th. Julian was then right behind so let him and chasers through :(. I was a bit frustrated at some drivers exceeding track limits at turn one by running very wide, this gave an unfair speed advantage going into turn 2.
Can penalties be put into place during the race for exceeding track limits, blocking, unsafe passing etc?

  12. Not sure if that’s possible to do it “in race”, but even if it were, it would likely be unworkable. I had to take evasive action into turn 1 on more than 1 lap to avoid a driver slowing mid corner, and therefore had to run wide to avoid a collision, an arbitrary penalty system wouldn’t know the difference between that and a deliberate abuse of track limits.

as far as “unsafe passing” goes, it comes down to a couple of things (in my view). If a driver doesn’t get punted or spun during a passing manoeuvre, is it considered “unsafe”? “Robust” maybe, but that’s racing! In my case during the race, I was punted into a spin in turn 3 where the other driver’s manoeuvre was very “optimistic”, however, he did slow to an almost standstill to allow me to re-take the position, and that’s how it should work.

This is just my opinion of course, and I’ve found that since becoming part of a team, it all seems somehow much less intense compared with racing as a solo entry. Still, hope you’ll be on track for the last race, good to see the numbers remaining high in this series.

I watched the replay and saw the incident that caused Brian to crash and also the wide use of turn one, I totally get the frustration when you are taken out from doing lots of normal online racing. There were also a few incidents in the race and some questionable overtakes however I think this will always happen as the grid gets fuller and drivers of different abilities race each other. I think it was a difficult race for some and there were lots of mistakes and maybe questionable lines taken, turn one is always tricky
I also agree with Chris that if we use the penalty system in PC2 it can be harsh and is not well implemented in that game as it maybe in others, It is possible to have to take avoiding action and end up with a penalty.
I am new to SRO and this is my second series in PC2 so don't know what its like with other drivers and series and some of you are well seasoned drivers so I can only say what I see from this. I understand SRO and the racing rules and maybe it gets pushed but I don't think any one deliberately tries to hit some one and it also seems quite a good community however I do think racing etiquette may sometimes be lacking.
We all want hard racing but also fair racing, but when people have differing abilities it can always go a bit wrong. achieving this will always be difficult.
Hopefully the next race will be better with less incidents and no upsets, hope to see you all soon.

A tiny bit disappointed with the race because a better result was possible.

Had a decent enough qualifying, but lost it at the start.
Fiddling around with the TC and gear ratio was not optimal for a good getaway.
The first couple of laps were fun as always with close racing.
Had some nice and fair trading of places with Klaus at Luffield and Aintree.
It was nice to see so many cars racing this time, unfortunately without my teammate :(.

Eventually closed up to the triple of Ken, Jose, and Chris.
They were fighting hard, which led to a couple of spins from which I gained 2 places.
Of course, my pace was not fast enough for Chris, who catched up.
Unfortunately, we came together at Brooklands, which sent me into a spin.
With a bit of help from Brian and Jose, I found myself in the air with the wheels on the upside :D.
After watching the replay, I think that it was a racing incident after some hard racing with the worst possible outcome for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

After boxing to repair the damage, I was in twelfth position with 15 minutes to go.
Some consistent lap times let me close up to @Klaus Germanus again.
Just like at the beginning of the race, I had a better exit at Luffield.
I tried my luck at Woodcote on the inside of Klaus, which went horribly wrong for Klaus.
I took too much speed into the last corner and punted Klaus on the back of the right side, which sent him spinning to the concrete of the start/finish line.
I take full responsibility for this crash, sorry Klaus !

First a great congrats to Julian totaly crazy and awesome pace
Second thank you admins for all the fun effort for us.:)

Practice 4th was a step forward for me , feelt alright but wasn´t satisfied .
Qual at the same time as Victor made me:rolleyes: what is that possible.

    Race
So on second row with a car I don´t really is pleased with and a set up I never try´d
made me nervous knew I had to do a great start to get away from the action in first corner.
Sorry  to say I felt it direct , it was a fraction to quick at the start, direct I took the decision
to go wide and easy off so Julian could pass with out any fuzz. If any penalty well thats Ken´s decision.

After that I also had a lot off problem with the set up, fiddling with brake balance most off
the race couldn´t really find a decent off it , had a real hard battle with Aleksandar and Chris ev had to let them pass , some moment later
Chris lost he´s car rigth across the track was to close to do anything about it :( Aleksandar also had some problem going
wide that let me pass to 3rd again so the hard battle was on a again try to hold on to that position not easy with those cars fish tailing around the track.
And a Aleksandar really on the hunt for it we exchange our paint work more than once . ;)
In the end off the race I thought maybe , maybe but Victor keept the distans to the end.
Thank to all that we had to pass good work !
