Hi to all, unfortunately I am going to miss the first race at Brands hatch as I have booked a last minute holiday, Sorry to miss it guys but I will be back for Bruno. hope you have some good racing and see you at the next one
Hey, I'm writing this as the race is still on. Qualifying was good, managed to get out early so I had free air, Ken took the fastest lap by just one tenth, putting me into 2nd place on the grid. Then some strange things happened. I had a decent start, saw a car coming up next to me. I let it go into t1 first, playing it safe. To my surprise after t2 I saw that it wasn't Ken, but Gerhard, and I couldn't see Ken anywhere. After that I got an overtake on Gerhard in t8, and saw him spinning out. I don't think we touched, or at least I didn't feel it, hopefully it wasn't my fault. Then in t1 my internet just cut off and I crashed into the barriers. This makes me wonder if I lag hit Gerhard, I'm really sorry if that was the case. Such a shame, I'm absolutely gutted. Btw, what happened to you, Ken?
Very sorry for you Viktor. This would have been your race. You did Not overtake me. You had a disconnect when driving behind me in sector 3. No Impact for me, just sad when i saw you leaving.
I had to take a quick personal pit-stop before the race started, but didn't get back in time to join the grid. I was eventually allowed to start from the pit lane just as Gerhard was crossing the line at the end of L1. I had decent enough pace for once to work my way back to 4th place, recovering over 1 min on Gerhard. Maybe I should've made the race 60 mins long rather than 45 mins
I'm glad I didn't ruin your race, hopefully no one else was hurt. On my screen you crashed out in the second to last corner and I disconnected just after crossing the start line. I guess there was a bit of delay before the game realized what happened.
I think that PC 2 has some issues because I got pushed off the track in turn 2 by Rob Milliken and then on the next lap i saw Rob get in a bad incident with someone else, with cars flying in the air, so I hope this is because of an issue with the online portion of the simulator. I would hope that an admin is not that aggressive. Please say it isn't so. lol
The replay doesn't show anything of what you are saying Paul In fact Rob got knocked off track in T1 by Helmut and resumed in 11 place, which was well behind you. Maybe you should check the replay again.
My bump in the rear was on the lap before Robs off in turn 1. Sorry Rob. Maybe it was Rob and Helmut that i saw. I just saw cars flipping and MIL over the top of one of them. I am not sure who hit me in turn 2 the lap prior, all I know is that Rob was directly in front of me when i corrected and came back on the track. I will go watch the Replay. Once again Sorry Rob if it wasn't you.
I just watched my replay, I say "My Replay" because sometimes with PC2 the replays don't necessarily match for each other. Rob rear ended me, at the end of lap 13, in the last corner not turn one, my memory is bad, over 60 you know. lol. He then lost it after passing Brian Donald at the beginning of lap 15 and he took out Aleksandar Stanisavljev. It was still and incredibly good race and I look forward to the next one.
Very surprising race for me. I knew that Ken is very strong in this car, the win should have been easy for him or Viktor, our hungarian shootingstar, even Julian is on vacation. So P3 was my target, hard enough. After Kens personal pitstop at he start i thought P2 could be possible. After a very good start i took the lead, Viktor behind me. I did not think about defeding hard, because 45 min is a long time, but at the end of lap 1 he had a disconnect. Now something strange happened: the boys behind me had good fights and lost 1-2 sec per lap. Soon i had an advantage of more than 20 sec. I could not beleive my luck. So i rememberd the old Ken Jagger strategy: only do what is necessary! I finished the race in a kind of taxi driver mode, not fast but safe. So i took the win, which does not make me feel satisfied this time. Looking forward to round 2 at wonderful Brno. PS: very happy with our late joins Dan Houk and Paul Upham, you were the spice in this meal, please stay with us.
Thanks Gerhard. It was one of the most fun races I have had in a long time. very good racing and, in the majority of the cases, very clean. Hope they are all as good as this one. I will need to do some laps in the car because it sure is a little different to drive.
Hmmm to me, from my cockpit view it was more like I got break-checked in that turn .. For me that's a hi-speed turn & was not expecting the hard breaking. Very sorry about that, not my intention. In my defense, I was not expecting that & I was right on your bumper when it happened .. Then 5 seconds later I flipped my own car off the curbs, after the pass at the end of the start/finish.. then ended up upside down & retired so I figured no need for a drive through.. I forgot what a blast these cars are ! you can really "drive it like you stole it" with these ..M-POWER!
Come on man, a win is a win, you still had to drive all the way to the end, which in itself is a big thing in a car with 500HP and no TC or ABS.
