You could be in luck Mark next year we are looking at putting on some endurance races 8 to 24 hour.

 

My cable connx went down for 10 mins during the Enduracers race today. I was expecting to be able to rejoin the server, but when I tried I got a "pending open session" message. Apparently it shoudl be possible to rejoin as per this which I found on the rF2 forums:

"You have to enable rejoin in multiplayer.json. This should be the two parameters


"Closed Race Sessions":1,
"Closed Race Sessions#":"0 = open to all (currently N\/A), 1 = open but drivers will be pending an open session, 2 = closed",

"Race Rejoin":2,
"Race Rejoin#":"Whether disconnected players can rejoin a race session: 0=no 1=yes with fresh vehicle 2=yes with vehicle in same physical state","

Does it work and if so can it be enabled on SRO servers?

 

We could implement rejoins Ken but we don't allow at the moment only in full endurance racing.

 

It's really not fun to spend time practicing for these events and then lose out, not through your own mistakes, but some tech problem. The rejoin option was implimented by ISI to alleviate this frustration and I don't see why it can't be used here, as you do lose a lap anyway as far as I understand, plus whatever time-loss you accrue before rejoining.

Can you explain why it's not allowed Nigel and also what do you class as "full endurance racing" and when its been done here at SRO?

 

Full endurance racing is 6 to 24 hrs no we have not done that yet but there is a series going up this year.

I don't honestly no what site would allow you to come back on to the server after you have had a disco or accident in the race.

It is something we can look at in the future.

 

Disco and accident are two different things. I wouldn't expect to be able to rejoin after an accident/ESC. As I understood it the program coding can make a distinction between a disco and ESC? Correct me if I'm wrong.

What other sites do is irrelevant to SRO I think.

 

Its not something we would look to do. Disco's happen. I would not have a problem with doing it if we had bad servers and that was what was given people disco's.

One other problem with doing it over half way into a season is I believe 3 other users have had a disco over the time of the league for different reasons. It would be unfair on those drivers as they never had a chance to get back into the race when they had it.

Its something we will look into for the next season but it wont be getting changed for this season.

 

This name was on the rFactor2 server Franco Becagli who ever give him the password please do not give out SRO server passwords it is an automatic ban from the site.

 

Passwords are not to be given out under any circumstances, if you wanted your mate to go on the server you should of asked an admin.
