Hi, I am thinking of joining this series. i recently bought Pcars2 and have been playing around with it. I have a logitech G27 and find the FFB completely rubbish. If i go over the rumble strips i get a nice judder on the wheel (so i am confident that the game is communicating with my G27 ok) but if i go flat out down the straight and jam on the brakes, i hear the tyres lock up in my earphones but i feel nothing on the FFB. If i am going round a corner and suddenly tighten the wheel to create understeer I can hear the tyres screeching in my earphones but i cannot feel anything in the FFB. I have tried changing the sliders for gain/volume/tone/fx but nothing seems to create a feeling for understeer or locked up brakes. I then tried 'Christiaan's Pure FFB' which doesnt seem to make any difference but i am a bit confused about his instructions for the custom ffb file. He says for the 'user defined variables' set the following for logitech wheels: Tighten (Logitech: range 0.14 / falloff 0.06) . i have found the following line further down the file which reads: # Tighten -------------------------------------------- (tightened_output (tighten final_output tighten_range tighten_falloff)) Am i supposed to add the logitech settings in here? if so how do i actually add the numbers into the line of text? Any help would be appreciated (or tips on what settings other pcars2/logitech users are using) I really want to get it sorted before Wednesday as Donington is one of my favourite tracks!
I'm not familiar with the Logitech wheels now, since switching to TS & Fanatec over the last few years. Have your tried a search inline? A quick look threw up a couple of threads about PC/PC2 & the G27. https://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?22122-G25-G27-Wheel-Setup-Guide ""
thanks ken, yes i have tried several different peoples suggestions but nothing seems to give me any indication of understeer or locking brakes so i am having to rely on the feedback through my earphones at the moment. i have just tried getting online for the first time in Pcars2 and got on the SRO server successfully so i should be ok for my first PCARS2 race tomorrow night. This game seems to give you a lot more front end grip than most games like AC/RF2, too much lock and you spin very easy whereas on other games you would just understeer.
Nice Hope to see you then. I will be restarting the server with the race pwd at around 17:00-17:30 GMT
The default setups are usually quite bad in PC2, try experimenting with some setup changes, stiffen the front suspension or adjust the brake bias. You can take a look at other people's setups on the time trial leaderboards to get an idea on what to change if you're stuck. Good luck, see you at the race!
Unfortunately my G25 FFB isn't working good and I need to shut it down to avoid wheel disconnecting so I cant help you on that but I found this link a few days ago, also have same suggestions for G29 that may also work good on G27 https://www.drifted.com/project-cars-2-setups/
Hi, I used this profile with my g27 (Christiaan's Pure FFB 2.3) (I've switched to the T300 now), I don't know what you're talking about "Tighten (Logitech: range 0.14 / falloff 0.06)" (or maybe it's a bad translation). Without being extraordinary, it worked a little better but you have to work on the different settings, especially to find the right values between TON and FX. (there is a method recommended in the readme I think) currently I have : Gain 77 (100 for g27) Vol 49 Ton 50 Fx 57 Good luck
Sorry mates, Covid catched me and i had to unregister for tonight. I will be back next round for sure! Good luck all!!!
Well, what a cock-up that was on my part! Never seen the before the notice of “race finish” and counting down seconds, totally threw me and pulled into the pits thinking that race was over, only to find it wasn’t!……..won’t make that mistake again! Happy second place Brian
This race turned out to be an exciting one for me. I didn't expect a good result as I didn't have much time to practice but was pleasantly surprised by my own pace at the beginning of the race. I felt a battle coming between me, Ken and Brian, but things got a bit messy. After accidentally divebombing Ken I sort of game him the position back, but the next lap he made a mistake and spun, spoiling his race. I had consistent pace from then, made a couple of mistakes in the last corner but nothing major. I had two collisions with a backmarker though, which got me a bunch of damage to my front left suspension and my front aero. From then on I was down on straight line speed and the car felt a bit more twitchy on bumps which made me lose about a second a lap. At the end 4th is a decent result, I'm not upset about it but not entirely satisfied either, it could've gone better. See you all at the next race, gonna practice more for that one!
It was quite a nice race for me, qualy P5 nice and steady start avoiding anyone around, and then a stupid mistake on the backend chicane I spun alone by myself, drop to P9 and that actually made my race a little funny, had great battles with Scott and Klaus for P5. Recover P5 and Top 4 are too far away and I didn't have de pace to get them so I just keep a steady pace no mistakes keep the gap to Scott and finish as started in P5.
Qualified in 7th after getting a good setup . Decent start and kept to the inside line when I had a coming together with a car that squeezed me out. (forgot to save replay) However, I battled on and held 5th. Great battle with Viktor who had a couple of spins on the last corner letting me past for 3rd. Pulled out a comfortable gap and settled for the 3rd place. I then crossed the finish in a gifted 2nd place as Chris had pulled into the pits too early ( oops ) Great race with great drivers and thanks to Ken for keeping us racing together. See you all at next meeting.
