I had quite a lonely race, due to some collisions in lap 1 I gained a few positions and the fast guys began pulling away immediately. Even after stopping for fuel early, I was still pretty much alone on the track for the rest of the race... Was still very fun to have a fairly consistent race on a street circuit like this one - I was new to the circuit - and I'm looking forward to the next round. Here's the replay:

Not my best race. I spun in the first lap, although I tried my best to be very careful because of the cold hard tires.
That was silly. After that, I tried as good as I could to save fuel. It worked, and I finished with 0.2 liters of fuel left without doing a stop.

Regarding the track limits, I have no idea why the track modder omitted the curbs at turn four and turn five. Or why there is no feedback from the game.

My feeling inside the cockpit was that I respected the red lines there most of the time, but after looking at the replay, I must confess it was not always the case. The irony is the tighter I drove turn four, the better I stayed inside the boundaries for turn five.

Sorry for that. It was not a massive violation (a tire width, approx. 50 % of the laps). Anyway, I should have done a better job there.

Sorry for the delay in my response, but I have been out of action for 3 days due to an unexpected medical incident.

Without an official protest being submitted in accordance with Rule 1.1 https://simracingonline.co.uk/threads/sim-racing-online-racing-rules-and-regulations.126/#post-834 I shouldn't even be looking into this, but out of personal interest and with my being absent from the race, I decided to take a quick look at some laps.

I would make the following observations.

Due to the late change in the track mod used, even I hadn't noticed the lack of kerbs at Turn 5 which would've helped in recognizing the inside track limit, so I could also have been guilty of infringements if I had run. That was my mistake in not recognising and clarifying that beforehand and one I will take extra care of in future. Under those circumstances it would have been difficult and unfair to uphold a protest, if one had been submitted within the required timeframe, due to an error on my part.

It has been stated before several times that complaining about driver behaviour in the race forum, especially if you feel rules have been deliberately ignored or taken advantage of, is not necessarily justification for an Admin review. Only the submission of a protest will achieve that.

Let's accept this particular event as a one-off, not quite right occasion and look forward to the remaining races in the series. By all means in future if anyone has questions or requires clarification about track limits or similar things before a race, please raise a question in the race forum. We can all improve our experience at SRO by participating in discussion, earlier rather than later.

Apologies to all once again, for what was essentially my mistake.

Sorry to hear about your medical incident. Hope all is well now. I posted the picture for interest with no names because of a lot of talk before the race about not cutting turn 5. These cuts are blatant and in some cases they were right up against the wall with almost half a car width to the red line. This is more about being consistent in the interpretations of the what is allowed and what is not. No protest, more for general information.

Thanks for the great race everyone!

Taken from the 2003 Indy race. The red line causing the issue wasn't even there :D

It changed sometime after 2003 to this, as in 2012.

I wondered which kerbs you and Paul were talking about, makes sense now

I was guilty of crossing the red line and sometimes close to the inside wall. Personally, i do not think it was actually the fastest line around those turns as you were not ideally set up for the right turn straight after. Although a much nicer track than the first version it really lacked grip, relied heavily on drivers conceding corners to pass safely as straight line speed was mostly the same for everyone i found and maybe it is a circuit i would not be wanting to use again in the future. But hey, all part of the fun of it and thank you for making it all happen. Get well soon Ken

I think the same happened to me on Sebring, where I also had to start from the pits. The wait time was not so short for the 1st round.
@Ken Jagger can you please change again the wait time before the race to 60s? Some need to change the setup a bit because the weather is set as variable ;):D

I changed the wait time back from 30 secs to 60 secs.
The weather will not change between sessions. The variable setting is generally used for temperatures & cloud cover.
