Started watching the stream. I started at 120 km past the start/finish line. Was I going too fast? Sorry if I was. I thought I had to keep that speed but maybe not. I don't know. As this is for fun.

I do have to note, the announcers were excellent. Thank you guys for streaming. I know we all appreciate it.

Q was improving on final try but too greedy for braking after back straight. Missed apex and sideways...P2.

R Took mediums but that made first 20 minutes difficult. After that started to match the speed of P1 and eventually was faster.
Think there was different tactics going on and felt all the time that race is not over. Then Johnny dropped from P1 and have to admit, didnt like it. Would rather have had the big chase going on.
Rest of the race was just matter of filling it up and changing correct tyres in which i failed once so got 1 extra pit.

You raced on slicks at the beginning? Was that possible?

Cool stuff Alberto. In the third picture we can see that the rFactor2 damage model is in full effect on the red Porsche :p:eek:

Watching the broadcast I think I can guess why I dropped back so much after 4 laps.
I made the dumb decision of starting on wet tires, while the guys behind me all started on slicks. And as the track was drying fast on the racing line, I was slaughtered on my wets.:confused::p

Btw, I really don't know why it was raining on the warmup. The server was set for it to rain only in the last part of the race.
I was as surprised as you were by it. On the other hand, it did throw an exciting curveball.

That was a tough race! lol.

I did do some practise in the wet, but mainly in the dry. Car felt good, tried swapping between softs and mediums because the softs tended to get very hot but I managed to create a setup that more or less just had them on the edge of turning to putty so risked it and stuck with the softs for the race.

Qualifying went ok, managed a good lap. I was about six tenths up on my final run but caught traffic and lost the time, no problem it happens.

Not sure what happened on the parade lap, visibility was bad for sure but coming up to the final chicane I was hit pretty hard up the back. Sustained some rear bodywork and suspension damage. So not a great start and the steering was now off a little but couldn't afford a two minute repair at the start.

I went for inters for the first stint, didn't want to risk slicks as I hadn't really practiced on a damp track with that tyre type. Anyway car felt good, held my position and I think it worked ok.

Had a stupid little half spin whilst racing with Thomas but as the track was starting to dry I opted to pit anyway, onto softs, full tank and then pushed as hard as I could. Maybe one or two laps too soon but the tyres got up to temperature ok. I also opted to repair the bodywork which cost me another 45 seconds but I needed to do it.

The problem was when the rain returned! haha. I pitted at about the right time and straight onto wets, and I was ok with that but as the weather and conditions worsened I started to struggle. I wasn't the only one as I did see quite a few LMP2's flying off the track but it was starting to become a real problem towards the end.

I think I was personally suffering a bit towards the end too (although I think we all were to some extent). I was helping move furniture at the warehouse in the morning and then did a ten mile run in the afternoon, I was going to try and get a quick nap before the race but didn't manage it, so towards the end I think I was just getting very tired and having trouble concentrating. lol.

Anyway, I was determined to finish, stuck around and got the points. Not the result I wanted (maybe a 5th or 4th would have been perfect for me) but it is what it is.

Apologies @Neil Tasker that was me. I was coming alongside you on the outside and I then realised that you maybe you hadn't seen me (there was another LMP2 on the right), so I backed off and even went onto the grass to avoid contact but I caught your rear bumper I think. I'm very sorry.

I see I'm still looking ok for overall points but I am away in Paris on the 6th running the Half Marathon so I won't be at Fuji. Hoping you all have a great event....and it doesn't rain! :)

Having only downloaded the respective cars & track about 3 hours before the race had to start I decided not to register for this one even though I put in about 30 laps practice which was not enough imo, instead, I was looking for the live stream on YT...didn't realize it was on twitch  until today so I have followed the twitch channel and will watch the stream later this evening whilst having my Whiskey complemented with my Pringles crisps.:).

May I ask if there is a server replay that I can download?

    Regards,
    Bret

Johnny, I think we are all wondering why you stayed in the pits for 5 minutes after leading the race.
    Could this be it?

I was on Mediums in the GTE Class for first stint too. Was going fine until I ran wide and got spun by a sausage kerb. Aside from that it was drivable
